The guys over at  InsideSimRacing.tv have released the newest edition of their This Week Inside Sim Racing show, recapping some of the stuff that’s been going on in the virtual racing world.

This week, the guys take a close look at Reiza Studios’ recently released Game Stock Car 2012 update, share their settings for the Thrustmaster T500 RS wheel and treat us to plenty of iRacing coverage.

Enjoy the show!

Game Stock Car 2012 (which allows you to get 2010) is a mandatory sim purchase.

I’m sure they couldn’t care a less what your after…they run it their way, like it or not! its not exclusively iracing so i dont know how you can complain!?

I’ve been critical in the past of their blanket coverage of iRacing but to be fair they dedicated a large chunk of thhe show to Game Stock Car and covered the Forza stuff and the Redbull event. Yes they did spend some time on iRacing but that was their event and so it would have been odd not to have had a lengthy report.

After the 2010 (2011?) fiasco I pretty much gave up on ISR but I’m giving them a second change I’m really starting to enjoy their shows again. Darin is learning to control his tempo which is good Shaun the cool guy is been given more space to express himself and some guests are very welcomed indeed. This episode goes to show that you don’t need a hot chick to grab simracers’ attention although she the hot chick is brilliant as a reporter and deserves all kudos she gets! I just hope ISR doesn’t try to make nVidia as boring as iRacing has become with all the adverts directed at them and remember AMD Radeon are the best cards :)

I’m with SBKRacer that this edition was something of a return to old form. Time was when I would eagerly anticipate each and every show they put out. Then iRacing got their well-financed claws into them and, for me at least, their impartiality and authority got severely compromised. Darin also had his brief tenure as an employee of Fanatec and things seemed to go further downhill at that time, perhaps understandably.

While the near ten minutes they dedicated to Game Stock Car 2012 was not nearly enough, it was sufficiently in-depth to be engaging and rightly acknowledging one of the best titles for a long time. More stuff like this please guys.

I thought the recounting of their recent iRacing event was going to be a turgid iRacing ad, but they made it far more interesting than I expected. Although the usual iRacing reports are a serious bore for anyone not participating and their immediate families, this was excellent blow-by-blow coverage delivered with admirable humor.

The major problem I still have with ISR is that we have two major game betas going on in the community at the moment, but hardly any coverage on the shows. For me these should be very regular updates with plenty of interviews with developers. I can’t believe the devs wouldn’t want this publicity.

All that said, let’s not underestimate the influence that Darin and Shaun have had on shaping today’s sim racing scene. I only wish them success and hope they will see the value in much wider coverage of the exciting developments in our hobby. That should surely be their first priority, whether iRacing likes it or not.
