I really want to know what the hell is going in Atari land. Almost zero advertisement anywhere, the PC version is not even available on freaking Amazon and several people have reported that even though they managed to purchase it from the Atari site they still don’t have the option to download it.
I know their stock are on the way down but shouldn’t they be trying a little harder?

As for the game itself, as a fan of SMS I cant say it looks all that good, I really want to try it out but I have very low expectations about it sadly.

Looks boring… All the Ferraris I like are in Forza…

Agree about atari, I honestly dislike them. The whole TDU 2 thing, rushed, bugged, really, they *** up big time on that game. (Eden was to blame as well)

About the ferrari game, I don’t see anything wrong with the graphics, on that aspect SMS always delivers. tracks and cars looks good, I could see it since early pre-release footage.

The thing is, if the physics in this game is anything shift-like (weightless cars on ice drifting all the time), the chances of getting this game is zero. So, I’m curious too see how SMS would handle an arcade physics without EA wings. I wish they could take a physics model similar to Race Driver GRID.

I pre-ordered this game from the Atari site on the 2nd, thinking that I would download it at midnight and play it this week.  Unfortunately there have been no official statements from Atari about the PC release date, even though their site says it comes out on the 3rd.

I don’t mind waiting a little longer, but as soon as I heard that the magnetic crash effect was present in the console versions (as it was in Shift 2), I cancelled my order.  I might pick this up in a few months after it has matured a bit, but I won’t be getting it from their website, I’ll pick up a hardcopy or get it from Steam when it’s on sale.

Looks definetly like Shift with less floating, which probably is the best way for a game like this. Detail level ofc isn’t up with pCARS, this game was made so PCs and consoles can run the same version.
But it looks like a neat game, all alone for the 70s and early 90s F1 Ferraris and the SP333 this game is worth a try.

A physics model like GRID? Are you sure? Do you really want to drive Ferrari boats?

    Please explain!

I love the look of this game…..Unfortunately I have seen a V.V.V  video that shows the 1987 Ferrari around Monza and the oversteer is hilarious, the car is oversteering so much its putting its inside wheel on the grass on nearly every corner, and not intentionally.

The Grand Prix  cars would be the biggest attraction to me in this, but not with this kind of handling.

Sad :( ‘cos we really need games like this, but ones that handle at least mildly realistically.

Well game looks nice and that will be all good about it isin’t it?

I take GRID physics over Shift’s anyday. Actually is not grid that feels like boats in my book.

  • gt3rsr

Still better than SHIFT. GRID was a fun arcade, SHIFT was just a frustrating wannabe “sim”.

     Well said.

I will give the game try because I also love its looks and ferraris, but i’m not too optimistic about the physics. I’m not really asking for realism actually, I just want a arcade game that is fun and doesn’t hande like complete *****.

horrible pcars Formula A sounds used on the modern ferrari F1.

There’s no harm in a racer that’s clearly arcade-slanted, as long as it offers something unique and engaging. Unquestionably, Test Drive Ferrari taps into a subject of interest to most of us. Not something I’d buy at full price on release, but the PC version should be nicely discounted by the time the Christmas online store sales roll around :-)
