Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends – New Footage

With preview versions being sent out to several outlets, more and more gameplay footage of Atari, Rombax Games and Bigben Interactive’s Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends title is becoming available.

Among those lucky few to get an early glimpse of the title are the guys over at  InsideSimRacing.tv , and as usual, they take us along for the ride, showing us plenty of new gameplay footage.

Furthermore, MotoGamesTV has been upload loads of gameplay footage showing various car & track combinations in action, including a full lap on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The title will include 51 Ferrari road & race cars that can be raced on 36 circuits including variations. Make sure to check out the full car list & track list.

Test Drive Ferrari will be coming to the PC, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 starting May 15 according to the publisher and various retailers.

Looks good! I hope “Test Drive Porsche Racing Legends” will be next!

The ISR video feels more like a bunch of fans who got their hands on the game early and can’t believe their luck. But I guess that’s not unusual from them.

Either way, I’m certainly looking forward to finding out how this turns out. :)

It may not be hardcore sim (no big deal), but it does look good !   Should be a lot of fun for some less serious racing.

Back in the day I had a blast with NFS Porcshe, so I’m hoping it will be more like that then the previous Ferrari-only games. And from what I can gather it does, nice!

I was thinking the same thing. My only concern is the input/ffb. I really, really hope it is lag free!

  • Henk Ensing

Thanks for the video’s! The stills seemed pretty decent, but now I know this game is not for me – to each his own!

Steering lag seems massive on the first ISR video. :( I hope they will sort it out for release. It ruined Shift 2 also.

Your comment seems like it’s from someone who has nothing better to do with their time.. They always get titles early.. They said they were surprised it was developed by Slightly Mad.

If you don’t like what they put out, don’t watch. Simple as that.

I would be excited if I got to try out 50 plus Ferraris on those old tracks before anyone else too..  Based on your comment, you would be too if you got your hands on it early..

Sounds like a bit of jealousy actually on your behalf.

Looks pretty cool.. Can’t wait to try some of those older cars on the older tracks

this looks amazing ( looks )  but, by the looks ( thats the driving bits ) of it, it must feel like driving a bathtub full of water on a jello track and that is not good :

Shift 1, when modded via NoGripRacing mods, is actually a really fun game. You could even drive quite a few Ferrari’s in it through those mods. I would venture a guess that if the cars handle like Shift 1 unmodded then it really won’t be worth purchasing due to it already being available, for the most part.

To each his own, of course, but I’ll wait on all the sims being developed (AC, rF2, GTR3, pCARS).

Of course I would. But from advance previews like this, this isn’t really what I’d expect. And I’m sure it’s not what the devs and publishers expect either.

Why do they have that “shifty” handling in their games??

this is what it’s supposed to sound like

    omg, this looks so crappy.
First of all, the Ferrari F1/87 was a 6-speed gearbox car. It costed me 20 seconds to find that out…so why does it have 7 gears here ???
Then, at around 0:26 in the second video, when the car comes onto the grass…..i just dont know what to say about a physics implementation like that….

  • Bjørn Gaardbo

It’s quite clear that it is Ferrari 641 (1990)

It’s just that in the start of the video it says F1-87, but that’s not the case. The 641 had a 7 speed semi automatic gearbox (second season such a gearbox was used). So it’s correct, you don’t see the driver moving the hand to change gear either. Also the sound is a give-away. Not exactly turbo-ish :)

Graphics look fine to me, but the physics look arcade like. But then again, i haven’t tried it so don’t count on my reply to be accurate.

Since EA owns rights on Porsches in sims/games and test drive is atari franchise, I dont see it possible in near future…
