    “The Ferrari Project”

  • Guilherme Cramer

It looks like the formerly abandoned Ferrari game has been resuscitated :).

  • sbbr87

I’ve got the feeling that this feels exactly like shift 2, looks like it and will include most tracks of it…maybe fiorano or mugello as some extras ;) But if that is the case: I’ll buy it because Shift 2 was very good, not as an ultimate Sim-Racing-Game, but therefore I’ve got other ones ;)

  • Anonymous

A certain secret source tells me that video was actually made 3 years ago.

I’m hoping the game gets upgraded to pCARS tech.

  • Chris Allen

Yep that does look very “Shift”y, steering lag and all…

  • Павел Драндийски

Yep that is my main concern .. Really hope it will be better in terms of input/ffb or whatever than SHIFT.

Still has the suicidal AI of Shift 2, grrr… They’re not just “slightly mad”, the AI is insanely mad.

Testarossas, 288 GTOs, F40s… this game is a winner!

I’ll have plenty of good sims like GTR 3 and rfactor 2 to play this year, so this game will be my arcadey toy.

    Test Drive Ferrari.

    More like..

    Shift Ferrari.

Wonder which title would make more money though..

  • Dawid Czwakiel

Why put all these amazing f1′s in such a crap game…

  • General Rush Hour

    Heard of FVA?

It´s Blimey Studios that´s shit here. Ferrari just let them use the brand.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

It’s supposed to be fun, not sh*t ;)

We have no idea how it will drive, but it’s VERY clear this ISN’T a sim.

And it is beautiful for an arcade game ! Can’t wait to give it a try for a change…

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

No, it looks like an arcade game.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

    Your point being ?

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Damn, it’s the trolls all over again… Do you people know the word “joy” ?

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Yes, it’s a commercial arcade game.
    No, it’s not a sim.
Yes, it’s aimed at console users and kids.
No, it won’t have CARS PhysX.
Yes it’s going to be FUN.
No, Blimey doesn’t care about the sim community.
Yes, they’re in it for the money.

So what ? Nobody’s lying to you, get a grip. You don’t like it, it’s ok. Just don’t tell me, I don’t give a sh*t.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

    I’ll be damned… Following Wikipedia :

Blimey! Games was an entertainment software development company in central London. The CEO was Ian Bell, formerly Managing Director and founder of SimBin Development Team.Blimey! Games comprised a specialist development team of 60 based in locations around the world.

DoF in cockpit always runs vids for me…

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Edit: It’s BigBen Interactive, not Blimey…

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Ok, I mixed things up after a comment from the General, of course this game is not developed by Blimey but BigBen Interactive… Which is very bad news as they mostly develop console games for kids and other useless junk… Meaning the boards of directors don’t give a damn about driving, money is the only initiative once again…

One can only hope for a good arcade feeling game… It should be drivable by 5 years olds, so I won’t expect to much, but we never know…

  • http://www.facebook.com/jukka.karppinen1 Jukka Karppinen

Exactly what i was thinking :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/jukka.karppinen1 Jukka Karppinen

I don’t really understand all negativity here, especially now when there is so many great sims coming.
One good looking arcade game wont hurt anyone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Samuel-Korthof/100001700529856 Samuel Korthof

    Looks fun!

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

It is Arcade, which is playing to be simulator, it looks like Shift and shift was very very bad.

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

But this don’t look good, it is same like Shift so it is DLC for shift, but for full price. More many etc…

Shift wasn’t funny it was very bad, and this looks similar. All graphics physics everything, and no this is not fun, NFS MW was fun, this is arcade playing to be sim

  • http://www.facebook.com/jukka.karppinen1 Jukka Karppinen

Your post is exactly what i’m talking about. You call it “shift dlc” and “not fun” after seeing only one video…how about giving it a change and judging it after it’s released?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Markus-Ott/100000878526131 Markus Ott

Shift 2 graphics, Shift physics, a lot of interesting Ferrari cars, Nordschleife and Monaco. Seems like this could be one or maybe the best selling racing game of 2012.

  • Anonymous

Bad AI or instead a bad driver that the AI has problems dealing with ?  :)

  • Anonymous

It does look like Shift with Ferrari’s but as for the video, I think the driving was being done on a gamepad by the looks of it.   Wouldn’t rFactor looks like that with a gamepad ?

Obviously it’s not total sim.  Why even should it be ?   It’s not that every racing title has to be, just to satisfy us.  Companies are allowed to put out arcade racers without expecting to be dissed for it.
I guess we sim-racers just expect that every racing title should cater just for us.

The shame of this is the timing.  It looks like it was developed at a time where the gorgeous Ferrari 458 Italia just didn’t make it into this game.  That is just tragic :)

  • mike mansor

It’s the nature of a “sim-racer”.  Fun?  First of all all PC racing sims run on PC/Windows- how’s that for fun.  The further down you go you realised that it’s all about pain and suffering.  And judging is part of the self-inflicting pain:  Judge not lest ye be judged.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Markus-Ott/100000878526131 Markus Ott

Believe me, rFactor wouldn’t look like anything close like Shift when you compare the driving model. Shift feels like driving a boat which you can easily see in the video how the car floats heavily from side to side with each input.

  • Anonymous

I dont get so much of a ‘boat’ feeling in Shift 2.  I think I know the effect you mean though.

But I was referring mainly to the behaviour of the steering wheel and it’s effect on the car behaviour if being driven by a gamepad.   I think if I used a gamepad in rFactor the steering wheel would twitch in a similar fashion.
It may not ‘float’ as much but then one is hardcore sim and one isn’t.     I think that the video would still be improved if it was driven with a wheel.

Pressed the ‘like’ button by mistake there.  oops :)

  • Ricoo

I agree this is n°2 to be fixed

  • Ricoo

BigBen is the publisher (the guy who flood money to the developer to cover the cost of doing the work).

SMS would be the undisclosed developer.

  • yigityusufmutlu

hey montoya, you work for SMS, don’t you..ay insider news about this ame will be great, at least how is driving like??

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=600716777 Eddie Jansson

    I love Ferrari’s
    I love Racing
I used to love Test Drive (Unlimited)

But seriously this doesn’t look good, the graphics are ok, but Test Drive weren’t made to go racing on the track, Test Drive Unlimited was so perfect for it’s time! But since Unlimited 2 was released (which is a better looking Unlimited with horrible physics) everything has becomed so arcadish, which is sad…. I miss the times when you cruised around on Hawaii with your friends….

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

Because it looks Same like Shift 1 and 2, Driving model everything. Yes I am simracer but i like Arcade racings too. Split Second NFS MW, DiRT 1 2 3, but Shift was very bad, and this looks same so … sorry I hope for better game, when I was waiting for Shift 2 but no, it was very bad.

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

No This is fun arcade game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5LWjAj54_8.

It is not fun, when it lose grip for no reason. And drive like a boat

Keep in mind that this trailer is a year old so the gameplay could have improved.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SJJWL7CMNX7UHU6L6KMBW54CR4 Marcus

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind Shift2′s physics with this game as long as the AI respects me and the others on the track. Arcade or not, it should be about the racing, not the destruction derby.

  • noro ardanto

have u tried to “enable” your local area network. This works like magic on my pc. Just enable it eventhough you didn’t use it. Seems it is a bug on commerce server.. good luck!

  • noro ardanto

be patient.. eventually some group will convert these beauties to rF2 ;)

Looks like Shift, Shift 2 and Cars. 2012 might be a good year for the arcade-racer too!

  • Anonymous

    it worked  thanks

  • Frank Schlosser

I know what joy means, Shift wasn’t fun, and it wasn’t realistic, it was some sort of half way sim arcade racer that was the master of nothing. It’s like the worst of both worlds.

  • Anonymous

If there’s a limited pool of cash, it means it’s getting spread thinner.   And as gfx have always proven easier and quicker to do than “real sims”, then glitzy shiny crap does pose a threat, yes.

The success of Codies’ Colin McCrae is a good example. Completely inferior to RBR, but it’s still going and RBR is long-dead.

  • Anonymous

I never found SHIFT2 felt like boats but did find they drove odd from the cockpit and seemed to turn on a pivot point which really didn’t look natural. This video displays the same behaviour as that. It’s a bit like the way the cars behave from cockpit in the PGR games

Agreed. Sorry about the ranting, I was in a bad mood I guess.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Will do, I was out of line, sorry about the useless ranting.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Indeed, but we’ve all seen the influence on SMS by EA, so let’s hope BigBen has more respect for his developers than EA does.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Do you think they could make a sim drivable with a keyboard ? I tried rF2 and pCARS that way (rig out of order) but it’s totally impossible.
I remember playing for hours at Screamer with my keyboard, and it was a very fun experience, and I enjoyed Split/Second a lot on the XBOX360 before I had a wheel…
My questions I guess are : now that I’ve been sim racing at a “hardcore” level (with my DIY 2DOF motion cockpit), can I enjoy an arcade game again ? Are arcade racers enjoyable to sim racer with a wheel, or should we go back to the gamepad for them ?
What’s your take on those points ?

    Shift 2 Ferrari  edition)))

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

Still looks like sim rF video. Not go side to side in corner and drifting everywhere.

  • http://twitter.com/PeterPrks Peter

It is not fun drifting on every corner and crash everywhere. Fun is race with 20 real drivers and have nice overtakings. But old arcade games was fun too. But this game is not arcade and is not sim so what is it?
