Team Enduracers Mystery Project

Team Endurancers has released a very interesting sneak preview of a new project, inviting everyone to guess which car we`re dealing with here.

The render below shows a new car covered up, the car is the team’s newest project. Right now, information is sparse as the team is not confirming yet which simulation this car will be created for or if it’s part of their Endurance Series mod for rFactor.

The mystery will be solved on Friday and until then, there’s plenty of time to speculate what this is about.

In related news, the team has launched a new official forum that you can find here.

My guess is a 911, based on the prominence of the headlights. Porsche Carrera cup for rFactor 2?

  • http://twitter.com/redbullcat Phil Oakley

Looks like an 80s Le Mans/Group C car to me, based on the high back, but then again, that could just be a modern GT car. I dunno. We’ll see on Friday I guess.

Blatantly a porker! Please let it be for rF2

    Porsche 911 GT3 RSR 4.0 Type 997….

My first thought was a Porsche but may I suggest a poorly made 98-99 Mercedes? :P

      So it will fly? ;-)

  • Anonymous

Aaah the famous car-under-cover shot :)    It sure does look Porschey.  I hope that huge rear spoiler means it will have some rear grip ;)

    Looks interesting.

    • Noel Hibbard

Hmm.. Never had a problem with rear grip in ES. Never have been able to understand what all the fuss was about. Thank god for sims like pCARS and Shift to give those that couldn’t drive ES an outlet to play.

If you hadn’t had any problems with rear grip in ES – it means you were driving too slow to call it “speed”.

      • Brian Duddy

Ooh, the rare “triple” – insulting other sims, someone else’s driving skill and their taste all at the same time. Well done!

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Justin-Schmidt/100001406158677 Justin Schmidt

es mod for rf1 has no problem with grip. it’s actually really good because the driver has to keep his car in balance through the corners. the gt porsche is the best example for this. you cant brake or slow down a 911 after turning in to the corner. if you do you put all the weight on the front which spins you around because a light rear cant grip enough to keep that heavy engine back there. you can even feel it in the ffb and react to it. the problem is people want to go slower when they feeling loosing the rear but in the porsche, you got to do the opposite. apply a little throttle and the rear is there for you. this gets difficult when you missed your braking point tho.

So what are you saying, that I can’t drive Enduracers and I’m better off racing games that you don’t consider to be sims ?
Is that what you just jumped in and said to me ?

      • Anonymous

Can’t say i find an issue with grip either, you can always put some TC control on – the mod devs recommend this anyway. Just got to enter slow corners with finesse and at the right speed. then coast round, no throttle until you are 100% sure it’s safe!

      • Anonymous

Traction is not the issue.   But this doesn’t have to become a talking point.  It’s nobody’s problem that this isn’t my idea of how a racing car would handle.    If they did, then that means all the other mods and sims have it wrong.

    Porsche for sure…maybe 1996 or 1997 911 GT1

  • Chris Allen

Definitely a Porsche, but 99% sure it’s not the GT1.  The wing wasn’t that big, and on the GT1 the headlights were not very pronounced like in this under-cover pic, that’s about all I can deduct from it.

    • http://twitter.com/oxia_HK H.KLAA

exact and the GT1 rear-mirrors are more in front no?

    Ford Fiesta?

  • http://twitter.com/Pandamasque Pandamasque

Initially looks like a Porsche… but why is the rear wing so far back? Why does the bonnet seem to be so long, as though it’s a Viper…

     997 GT3-R (GTC Spec)?

    • Marc CHAPELLE

      This does not exist

        Yes but it’s not a GTC !

As I said on their Facebook page, it definitely has the front and side profile of a Porsche… but the rear wing seems a tad out of proportion. What Porsche has a rear wing like that? Time to put our detective hats on amigos…

    • http://twitter.com/StarFoXySxv550 StarFoXySxv550

935 K3 was my first guess at a Porsche spoiler, but on closer inspection of the car the spoiler doesn’t seem wide enough. Kinda fits the side profile though, well the rear end does.

      • Big Ron

also the front end doesn´t fit. First thought was a modern Porsche, but the rear end looks different. Maybe it´s a Carrera GT.

    Porsche 993 GT2 Lemans racecar

    • pez2k .

Yep, my money’s on a 993 GT2. I hope it’s a hint at an ‘Enduracers 90s’ mod, but I’m not holding my breath.

  • http://www.facebook.com/floreacalinfotograf Florea Calin

i say is nowhere near a porsche :), we’ll see:)

  • http://www.facebook.com/lasse.j.ougaard Lasse Jakobi Ougaard

I do not beleave the guys who say Porsche 996 or 997.. I think we are out into some kind of crazy 80’s turbo car, either some kind of touringcar or maybe even a Group C or C2 car..

  • http://www.facebook.com/marcel.penzke Marcel Penzkofer

Guys, seriously… how should it be a Porsche 996 or 997 series car of the GT3-R/RS/RSR division with that wide rear wing? None of these cars ever had such a wide rear wing, except for some privateers in BelCar and VLN maybe…

  • http://www.facebook.com/RedApex Ryan M J Callan

It’s clearly some type of 911 derivative, although what I’m not sure. A GT1 fits it the most but it doesn’t have the roof scoop.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jcruze88 Justin ForzaBarça Cruze

    Porsche 956?

  • http://twitter.com/oxia_HK H.KLAA

my brother says “it’s a DP corvette 2012″ pfff amateur lol! i sayed a GT1 porsche, but the rear-mirror are to rear position, no?

  • Sway Dizzle

The front looks like Porsche, the rear wing like Pikes Peak.

  • Dani .

In their FB page they have i think 2 different cars, i think. 1 Lister Storm and other a 911 Turbo.

2013 GTS-R Viper thats is coming to American Le Mans series

  • Philip Samuelson

Personally, I lost my taste for anything the EnduRacers do a long time ago. I stick with much more prudent and workable mods.

As i said on the FB comment

Its a Porsche 997 cup car thats currently used in the Porsche Supercup and other national championships.
