TCL Touring Car Masters Beta 1.5 – Released

Ryan Callan has released a new beta of his TCL Touring Masters mod for rFactor, further progressing with the overhaul that makes Team TCL’s excellent Touring Car Legends mod fit for league usage.

Made with full permission from the original creators, Ryan has majorly overhauled the massive mod to allow close and balanced races by removing several car models and balancing the 11 chosen ones.

The massive size of the original mod has been drastically reduced by only including eight skins per car, other features such as brand new sounds have been added. To fully understand the concept behind his changes, make sure to read the provided documentation here and here.

Changelog:

Car and engine naming refinements
Drag co-efficients adjusted
Cleanup of unnecessary GMT, TBC and WAV files
Removal of default rF sounds previously packed with download
BMW 635 bug fix
Reduced from 8 to 7 skins per car – linked to 635 bug
Added intro video (thanks to Stabiz for permission to use an excerpt from one his videos)
Added new loading screen (thanks to Rhys Gardiner)

    An v1.5 is a beta?
I always think a Beta version finish on v0.99 and a v1.0 is the first finished version… :weird:

    Does it matter…..

Further testing has shown that the 635 bug is NOT fixed.

    *bangs head against wall*

Whats the bug on that car?

    I’ve not driven that yet.

When it leaves a server it crashes anybody who is on track….

Have tried everything to solve it  , even the original modders don’t know the problem :/

I can’t help exactly but we had that with the Corvette, something to do with various models (we had EU and USA versions) sharing a model or a texture, then as one leaves the server, the model gets unloaded from memory, crashing for most of the other people on the server.. I just do physics so I don’t know exactly, but it was in that area..

Thanks Niels – i’ll take one final look into it. I had looked for conflicts but nada so far.

It needs a tortuous and tedious full scale look :/

A shame its aimed at leagues, I was hoping the AI could be fixed, as nothing was done about it from the original either. I race at 115% offline, and end up qualifying about 3 seconds slower than the AI, so I start near the back, but during the race I am faster, so its just a procession of me racing from last to 1st every race. The AI seem to use a much slower line during the race than quali.

I knew there was a reason I stopped playing TCL, back to v8factor and FIA GT then.

Good efforts though, not blaming you, the AI was flawed from the start.
