Targa Florio for GTR2 – Released

TheSky and Neel Jani have released the GTR2 conversion of the iconic Targa Florio that was released for rFactor back in July 2011.

The conversion now allows all users of GTR2 to tackle the epic 72 kilometer tracks, using many of cars that raced on the Targa back in the day.

The track was originally made for Grand Prix Legends, the rFactor Targa Florio Conversion Team has equipped it with new textures, shaders and lots of other improvements. All in all, over 30 people worked on creating the virtual version of this stunning track, the full credits can be found here.

Located on the Italian Island of Sicily, the 72 kilometer track is one of the most epic motorsport race tracks ever used. As safety concerns became an influence in international motorsports, the Targa Florio sports car race lost its world championship status and is still run as an Italian rallye today.

Important:

The track requires the 4GB_Patch.exe you can download here. Alternatively, you can use the 2 GB RAM NO-CD.exe that comes with Power & Glory 3.

Power & Glory 3 is of course the best choice for matching cars for this epic track, make sure to download it here if you haven’t already.

    it’s wonderful specially after 10km
    but i wasn’t able to finish it yet last time i destroyed the wonderful power and glory alfaromeo after 40km

    my hometown is just one hour and something away from there

    Is this map different from the one that you can download for GTR Evolution or it’s the same (for graphic, details, fidelity, etc.)?

    download halted after 10mb but NoGrip says I have used my 100Mb daily allocation :(. anyone have a mirror?

    When I try to race in the track the game crash to desktop. This happens in GTR2 clean and in PNG3 version. Other tracks are fine. I’m using the 2GB nocd exe. Same thing with the original exe.
    OS is W7 64bit SP1.

    Am I the only one with this problem?

    I had the same issue then I discovered that inside the Gamedata/Locations folder was another Locations folder with Targa in it (amongst others). I moved them all to the Gamedata/Locations folder and it all loaded great after that.

    I think I’m in sim heaven. The combo of this track – the best version in my opinion – and P&G3 is mind blowingly good. Hooning around in a virtual BMW CSL was never better than this. Awesome stuff.

    I have to agree. I admit I have to have damage off to enable me to try and get a lap in, then hope my car doesnt go off on the grass and get stuck in a bump somewhere :) But P&G3 with this track is a brilliant combo.

    What a combination and showing of talent the track and mod are.
