    very beautiful models!

  • Big Ron

Looks nice. Hopefully the design-differences to the original cars are big enough and not 1:1-copies, otherwise manufacturers would have reasons to go against the mods and that would be sad.

Does the pay-ware mod drive better than the demo/beta version?

    I don´t say :)

I think I’ll pick this up once the third car is released.

I think the developers should either organize a race series or partner with someone else. In fact a European, US and Australian series would be nice.

Of course, it would also be nice to have the proper tracks to race on.

I don’t think that matters. Copyright law is too complicatedto define in the car industry specially when the brands are not the same. Just see how many road cars now days are a carbon copies of each others. you can own a brand but you can’t own an abstract design. as long as 0.0001% of difference is in place you can start even your own car factory.

Ya, look at the episode of top gear when they went to China a year or 2 ago, almost exact copies of minis, bmw x3, and more, no one sued, and these copy companies are making millions. It makes me sick actually haha.

  • Kendra Jacobs

rf2, ac and iracing, 3 best :), but iracing is too much money compared to rf2 and ac :(((((

cant compare mod community content platform with paid content platform…its unfair

that’s true but it goes beyond China just check the New Honda CRV come on it’s almost as if they’ve stolen Volvo’s papers.

    nop…..good models but awful physics!!

These folks sneer at people who can’t or won’t pay £5 for a tech demo of one car on one track (AC Corsa) – then they sneer at *the concept* of someone charging 10E for 3 cars which can be used on any tracks.

    Odd.

How is that relevant to this topic?

I would love to be able to sample the physics of the cars before buying them. The models look very nice, but I am not going to decide to buy these cars based on that alone.

Another question I have is about the amount of LODs present in these models. In other words, will we be able to race this mod with fields of 40-50 cars and what would the minimum system requirements be for that? I realize this is hard to answer, as rFactor 2 is still in development, but some measurements or experiences would be welcome.

We didnt go to high with the models. They are just right to get the quality and to get right fps. Ive tested 20 cars at once full details and compared to ISI cars and i had no fps drops there. Lods are up to 4 stages for highest parts but that goes only for body and chassis. There are some parts that didnt need any lods and some that i added only 2.
For the physics, there is a beta of Aura here http://www.mediafire.com/?qzrlam6ejhz6hml but note that this is not the final physics. This was only to show direction where we went and to show the models quality where you can test fps to as lods and everything around exterior was done there.

Awful physics? Sorry but sofar all customers are happy with the physics and they have alot of fun actually. There are few maybe that would like to have some things changed but far from beeing awful actually.

  • http://www.facebook.com/alless84 Ales Ogrinc

Alot has been tweaked out from beta, alot has been changed and beta showed the way we go.

  • sandx

Yes awfull, to much grip when the track is green, when the track starts to get some rubber you don feel the weight transfer at all!!! Even when green is ridiculous the amount of grip!!! I dont know if it´s a issue with the tire physics or aero, can be both…….

  • http://www.facebook.com/alless84 Ales Ogrinc

The physics is just right, check what cars are that actually, they are build to have alot of grip and ive sayed from start to they are done to be for those to, that dont work all around setups for hours. Its ready to go and fun is on first place. Physics wise it was done just right to where it is and if you will push it you will lose those cars to.

  • Big Ron

I am not totally sure if I expressed myself correctly.

I am just talking about the virtual, fictional version compared to the real car. We can clearly see what references were used and I just hope that there are enough differences for the virtual version to be an “own” design.

SMS for example needed to include at least three visible differences for their unlicensed virtual cars to be on the safe side not getting too much attention by the manufacturers for not using unlicensed brands. Hopefully, the modders kept that in mind, too. Just remodeling the original car and remove the grill emblem isn´t enough.

For the case of China: chinese and korean manufacturers are known to be inspired by other car designs to make their own cars. But I´ve never seen a chinese car that looks 1:1 like e.g. Mercedes Benz C-class just with another emblem on it.

  • Joe Grover

Yeah… You’re broke and living on the streets in your racing rig. We get it. You’re trying to complain about two totally different situations just to complain. Yawn.

And yes… I bought this Mod as well as netcar to try out the AC tech demo. Support the community and stop complaining. Geeze.

  • Mario Strada

I think it does. I disagree with the “awful physics” comment below. I find the physics in these cars more realistic than some of the other ISI mods. I think they tend to err on the side of being a bit too easy to drive (Meaning: forgivable), but since between iRacing and rF2 many cars have this annoying and unrealistic snap oversteer issue that prevents you from ever attempting a recover maneuver without ending nose first into the opposite barrier, I’ll take the way this mod drives.

One thing I am wondering is this: How difficult would be to put proper branding on these cars? As an add on to drop on the mod?
