Gamershell.com has released some new previews of Black Bean Games & Milestone’s Superstars V8 Racing title for the PC and consoles. The previews show a full field in action, including closeups of the BMW and Jaguar entries.
The Xbox 360 demo version of the title is available on Xbox Live, getting not very favorable reviews from sim racers due to missing cockpit view and mediocre graphics.
Officially licensed by the European Superstars Championship, the title will include all cars and tracks of the Italian series. That includes popular race cars like the Audi RS4, the BMW M5 and other V8-powered machinery that races on Italian tracks as well as at Portimao and Kyalami. Superstars V8 Racing has been announced to be released in June 2009 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC.

I’m doubting the phsyics will be any good in this game. After trying SBK09 and blackbean’s previous car racer I don’t have very high hopes.
Have there been any cockpit shots? Is there even gonna be cockpits?

i wish sim racers would get off their high horse and see that these games are actually fun to play, SBK09 was fine if you played it with all assists turned off, if they made it a hardcore sim then no one would buy it because it would be too difficult.

SBK09 is not fun. The phsyics are quite un-enjoyable period. I can play any racing game it doesn’t have to be a sim.

“all assists on it´s still a hundred percent uninspired arcade experience. Surely it´s not as bad as WTCC in GRID but still.”
A quote of the V8 demo from another forum.
I suppose its not a total loss. Its better then Grid apparently

From the screenshots posted on virtualr I was looking forward to this game. It’s a series that I had never heard of before and the screenshots looked good. I had also recognized the menu layout to be the same as SBK09 which I thought was a bit cheap but nevermind, sbk09 was a great looking and fun game to play.
Then I played the demo of superstars v8 and things went downhill quickly… graphics in game are poor, no in cockpit view, and very limited damage. Seeing a bumper hanging off is cool but not when thats just it even tho I just T-boned a car at 100mph.
The physics were also poor, slightly more feel to it then GRID but still rubbish. Lets hope the Shift will give consoles a good racing sim/game

Well, I feared it would turn out to be a dissapointment, and it obviously is
… No cockpit view? Hanging bumpers as indication of car damage? They obviously didn’t go much far from Alfa Romeo “sim” (SCAR) the did more than a few years ago… pitty… V8 series would really be a great fun to drive…
