simracer64: it’s not as different as you may think, what is different is the wealth of data and expertise on hand to create the physics file for the sim to use, I may not need a contact but I have one and that is exactly what he said when I showed him your post.

I asked my contact at rFpro for a comment on your claims, he said “beef stroganoff”

It should have been clear that it was a gross oversimplification to give an idea of the plugin architecture and reinforce the main point: rFactor Pro is very different from the good old rFactor we use at home. AutoSimSport among others has had extensive coverage on rFactor Pro recently, so you don't need a contact at the company to know what their product is about.

No they don’t. They use their own physics with rFactor Pro, which basically is just a graphics engine added with the ability to bolt your own physics on top of it.

stabiz: Sounds in NFS Shift are not awesome, at least not the 1-series BMW and that other car that I tried.

So, you base your judgement on TWO cars?
But I agree, the sounds themselves are good however there seems to be a lot of distortion layered on top, I can see how some people might not like it (I myself am not sure if I like it).

the problem is if SRT really wants to go main stream I can name a few guys like ign gamespot gametrailers that will blow their head off! Anyway all I will watch SRT for now are wheel reviews but not for the score but details on the wheels! While they knew whom they were i.e. garage program it was fine but now  let's move on!

Why shouldn`t they give everything they get for free a good score? If they keep giving things a bad score they won`t receive those things for free anymore. It`s simple logic.

Well yeah, it's commercial.. That's clear. MS has paid them clearly, as I do not see a sim in Forza 3 at all. And TBH I';m getting tired of the iRacing hype they have.

You know what I think is odd as well, I've been looking through everything they've made, and barely all reviews had a score of 8 or higher..

Howie47Maybe EA thought they lacked credibility. They turn around and prove EA correct.

Do you think EA give a shit? If they were so concerned about credibility they wouldn't give sites like IGN a review copy, and certainly wouldn't get involved in buying good scores. But of course this happens all the time...

I also don’t have any personal vendetta against EA. I own and enjoy many of the games they’ve published. So nice try.Anyways, the publishers or the developers hire “community mangers” to post in discussion forums to damage control/promote their product. I’m not exactly accusing you of being one, I’m just saying that you deserve a biweekly payment for all your efforts. The amount of dedication and time you spend on defending SHIFT is truly awe inspiring.

Just trying to keep the balances level "siggy". Certain people started hammering the game before it was released and haven't ceased at every opportunity to do so since then.

Is lurking the new catch word for trolling??SMS developed Shift not EA.who was just the publisher. Of course some of the iRacing/Papyrus fanboys got so mad at EA for taking the Nascar license and putting Papyrus out of business, that they carry a grievous grudge to this day, against any thing related to EA. So are you a “lurking troll”, waiting to pounce onany one speaking well of any thing related to EA?

Howie47: My eye’s bugged out when they re-did the Lotus and put it back on the top of the “best car’s list”.They lost all credibility with that move. Then they admitted they were mad at EA because EA snubbed them by not giving the a pre-release copy of “Shift”, like they did all the other reviewers. Maybe EA thought they lacked credibility. They turn around and prove EA correct.Sounds in “Shift” are awesome. Consider the Vette works car! Let’s see how the iRacing vette compares. At least at the end of the “Shift” review they admitted the score wasn’t accurate. So we’re mad at EA, give them a lower score; we’re members and fan boys of iRacing so exalt it to the top.How totally transparently unprofessional of them.Red Rover Red Rover, I say let Jessica take over!

I totally agree the re-scoring of the Lotus is plain stupid... When they put Abarth on P1 it was said that it deserved to be ahead of the Lotus. Also why only re-score the Lotus ? Other cars where rated before the Lotus...

I never played Forza but that score seems very high for a Forza game.

My eye's bugged out  when they re-did the Lotus and put it back on the top of the "best car's list". They lost all credibility with that move. Then they admitted they were mad at EA because EA snubbed them by not giving the a pre-release copy of "Shift", like they did all the other reviewers. Sounds in "Shift" are awesome. Consider the Vette works car! Let's see how the iRacing vette compares.
At least at the end of the "Shift" review they admitted the score wasn't accurate.
