SRT – GTEYE Brake Springs Review Video

Back in February, I posted a story on the GTEYE progressive brake replacement springs for the Logitech G25/G27 pedal set that are available on eBay.

Now, the guys over at  InsideSimRacing.tv have reviewed the springs, covering installation, usage and pros & cons in the review video below.

Seems like a good mod for those that haven’t heard of NIXIM who, I dare say, did this first. I have their G27 brake mod v2 which looks identical to the one reviewed here. It works very well and, for the money, is an essential mod for those with stock G27s.

I have this exact mod on my G27 and have discussed the Nixim Vs. GTEYE
topic at length in the GTP forums with the men behind both companies. It
seems that both are great products, and even though Nixim almost claims
to have invented the mod, it’s not like they invented something
absolutely revolutionary that can be patented and trademarked. Anyways,
it’s a mod that adds plenty of feel to the pedal and will improve the overall sensation while racing.

The review however has a flaw. Shaun says it doesn’t matter which way
you install the spring, but it does matter and it’s something detailed
in the instruction manual that GTEYE sends you. It’s a very complete and
easy to understand .pdf that’ll make this installation a breeze. And the first two cons are really insignificant.

Regarding the products, I can only speak truthfully about the GTEYE and
allow me to say that it’s good value for money and a product of excelent
quality. The man behind GTEYE is very friendly and is keen on being
helpful, I’ve chatted a couple of times with him and he really is a nice
man. I’m glad he finally got featured on SRT, I told him a couple of
times it would give him plenty of publicity and I think he diserves it
giving the quality of his product. If you don’t believe me, then check
his eBay reputation, his score is perfect.

What kind of review is this, your pros and cons really didn’t say anything except giving us the facts. I want to know how it feel, response and perform in a real world situation. Tell us what it’s like when using with a sim. Not just one sim either, use several sims and test the product. Sheesh! So we can compare it with the original springs, which most of us have and know how it feels. Is it that much better? How much better?

    You want a review?
    I currently have this, doesn’t do a f’n thing.
    Had original nixim, pretty good.
Had APElectrix, excellent but, broke after 12 months,
Waiting for Nixim v2 in my mailbox.
Don’t have the money for ClubSports v2 which are laced with problems anyway.

    Thanks for the comment.
I should take a look at the Nixim V2 instead.
