SRT Episode 54 – Released

Jessica, Darin & Shaun of Insidesimracing.tv have released a new episode of InsideSimRacing, bringing us the usual fine mix of reviews and sim racing stories.

This time, the guys review the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel, take a look at the Superleague Formula Game, Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 and introduce two cars to the top sim cars list. Enjoy the show!

they’re HUGE. what was the show about? :)

Dunno, I’m watching this with no audio… :sd:

  • DW

Another great show, but a couple of things I’d comment on (no not those!)

    1. GT Legends more dated and less polished than rFactor? Not to me – rFactor feels more dated and less polished. In terms of actual age of course they are pretty much the same – GTL a month or so younger. rFactor has some nice features which GTL doesn’t but in terms of polish, details like animated driver and crewchief, sun in the sky, a far better menu system, better AI, and FFB that doesn’t need fiddling with, even little things like the exhaust smoke, make GTL more polished IMO.

    2. You say you don’t know if Superleague Formula uses real feel? You can’t tell the difference? But you say you prefer real feel? Shot yourself in the foot with that one :)

  • captain_underpants

They’ve gone from doing overlong reviews with too much prattling over what each score means, to too short with basically a scorecard, but no explanation why it got that score. A single sentence for each score would be enough. I do enjoy the show, but they really should tighten up their writing a bit, at least for the reviews.

And Good Lord, you guys are almost as bad as the nitwits commenting on the youtube page. Yes, she has breasts. BFD. If you want titillation, this is THE GODDAMNED INTERNET; There’s about 15 gazillion and one websites that’ll serve your every need. It’s like you’ve never seen an an attractive woman before.

DW, I agree with your points about GTL Vs. rFactor. But I prefer rF/RealFeel FFB hands down. Sure you have to fiddle with it a bit but once you understand how it works it no longer requires any work other then adjusting the direction of the forces and the strength a little which is all done with a few hotkeys within the game. I would rather spend 2mins doing a one time adjustment for a new car and have very good FFB Vs. No adjustments but crap FFB. But out of the box GTL doesn’t seem older and less refined in anyway.

Diswanio: EDIT: Edited out for the sake of decency – F1Racer

Diswanio, you’re pathetic. If you are in such desperate need of some self pleasure, google can help you out I’m sure.
If you want to offend someone, have a go at me.

As captain_underpants rightly says, some of you sound like pre-teen you-tubies.
You do realise that SRT guys read these pages (hopefully Jessica doesn’t).
There is no denying Jessica’s physical attributes but if that’s the only thing you guys can focus on, maybe cut down on the sim-racing and find yourself something other than a wrist and a pair of tweezers.

Montoya, you are far too lenient sometimes. I`d have just deleted Diswanio’s comments point blank.

Well excuse me Mr. Taleban, don’t you think that if she didn’t want her viewers to notice she’d wear something a bit less skimpy and see-through every show? :sd:

oh is this not ok with you and rest of the church! I admit ok, perhaps a bit rude, sorry you’re not “allowed to enjoy” it my son!! haha

You’re preaching to an atheist here mate. An atheist who happens to know that it’s not appropriate to display your personal sexual depravings on a sim-racing blog.
I ‘enjoy’ Jessica as much as the next guy. But I don’t have to rave about it like some pre-teen who just lost all the blood in his head because he got his first hard-on.

sorry i went too far, i apologize! I was a bit bored on my 1 day off
    Cleared them all :)

I still wish they changed a few things..

    * do articles about the mod/sim scene instead of commercials in disguise.

*stop the ” sponsored by SimRaceWay ” this way they are actullay sponsored by a commercial project that exploits the sim/mod scene.

    * stop focusing the show on Jessica]s headlights instead of getting some real press work done.

    * Stop calling themselves a simracing show , when 75% of the reviews are based on arcade racer commercials.

When they do that , and supply us with the SRT we did see in the early days, they get my vote anny day.

  • http://www.womengamers.com/ samanthaUK

i think it is a good idea they are covering console titles, to save grace, they should rename to Inside VR Today (VirtualRacing), instead of simracing, that way they cover all ‘driving games’, for both pc & consoles

So she deserves it for dressing like that? Dangerous argument, dude.

I don’t project motivations on people that I don’t know. And just because she likes to dress nice, doesn’t give a bunch of slobbering yobbos license to ejaculate all over the comments pages. A bit of decorum goes a long way, just like it would in real life. Or are you saying that if you actually met her, you’d think it ok to run up and motorboat her?

Normally I don’t comment on such things, and I kind of expect it in the cesspool of Youtube comments. I just thought we were a better class of people here.

    +1

Also, a whole review segment of an xbox360 wheel?! I hope you got paid good because that’s a serious waste of air-time. I have no problem acknowledging it’s existence, (in vain) but come on please don’t go down the corporate route any more. SRT is a low-budget community show, where’s the community content gone?

  • mattabater

i thought that was pretty good, and not just because of Jessica you perves hahaha the xblock is a good starting point with forza pgr race pro etc shift update that to 1.2, and that wheel.

  • hypertek

i have no problem with the console coverage, not that much sim content comes out in one week anyways.

  • paupau

DW: GT Legends more dated and less polished than rFactor? Not to me

Me neither, first time I opened rF having played GTL/GTR2 before, thought this is ridiculous(no animated arms, poor build etc). Time passed, mods came and it changed my perception. But, having to compare boxed GTL to rF is just not right, there is no comparison really, quality wise. Now, i don’t remember seeing SRT review GTL or GTR2 for that matter, nor some of the best mods that came with these titles(P&G, WSGT)

guess why she is in the show? guess why she dresses like she dresses? most “simmers” are young males. yes, the SRT team can do the math on 1+1. do you know car and motorsport printmagazines?! wohoo, tittys all over..

so what’s bad with commenting on a good looking women with a HUGE charisma. if you’re not too rude, i’m sure jessica won’t be offended. and some things are just not meant THAT serious, and are said with a smile on a face. ;-)

The XBOX wheel looks and feels like a Piece of Crap. Unfortunately I need to have one with the XBOX360.. The Fanatec wheel is just too expensive.

Unbelievable. Way to justify Jessica getting a barrage of sexual verbal and innuendo every episode.
Some posts are just inappropriate mate and if you need someone to tell you where to draw the line then thats sad.

Some of you guys are pathetic. Get a girlfriend.

Anyway, since these comments all seem to be negative towards SRT, I’ll just toss in something positive. They seem to be doing many more shows which means they can cover a lot more content, even if it is not hard core sim material. GT5 and Forza are considered sims for consoles, so why not cover them and the accompanying hardware? I’ll never buy one of those wheels, but others might.

SRT will have a library of references for everything sim related before long, and anyone who wants to have a review of something can go to these guys.

Good stuff SRT. Keep it up! And Shaun/Jessica/Darin can keep dressing however they want!

Yeah, the more regular frequency is definitely appreciated, but they seem to be filling that extra content time with more and more reviews. Reviewing Burnout Paradise is a sure sign they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for stuff to review. (small tip about BP: playing it with a wheel is a fool’s errand. it’s designed for a gamepad, and my enjoyment of the game trebled when I switched over to one.)

Why not add more community content? The Mod Squad is all but forgotten. How about some league news? Interviews with ‘high profile’ simracers? Something on the technical aspects of mod creation perhaps? And whatever happened to their Simracer In Training? Reviews are good, but simracing is more than just new products (or old ones). The tech tips segments are great, but far too infrequent. I just think it could use a little bit more variety in the content.

That said, I’ll probably continue watching and enjoying the show whatever they do. It is after all the only show of it’s kind. I only nitpick because I love it. I do get a kick out of how they get so coy and giggly (almost as if they’re embarrassed) every time they spout the Simraceway tagline, though.

i don’t know exactly what you are trying to say, but maybe i missed those posts before they were edited or deleted. as i said “if you’re not too rude” it should be ok to make comments on stuff we see. you know, i did not see shaun or darin “show off” their “male parts” – so there are no comments concerning them. c’mon, get in those tight leggins already guys! ;-)

if a woman tries to get the attention of a man through her “natural charm” it should be allowed to comment on that “charm”. but you are right that this should still happen to be polite and “classy”.

but those women only dress like they do to stimulate special emotions of men – so men should be allowed to talk about those HUGE TITTIES, dammit. but i had this kind of “why do women *sometimes* dress half-naked” discussion on many different places before – opinions are different. and that is not sad.
