Spirit of 1976 1.0 – Released

Core@Team has released the first version of their Spirit of 1976 mod for rFactor. The mod consists of two cars, the 1974 Group 4 Lotus Europa and the 1976 Group 5 Fiat X1/9 Dallara. Both cars have realistic physics which have been developed and tested for a long time.

Please make sure to read the mod’s readme in the Gamedata folder for the right controller settings to make the most of this mod.

    Tried them a bit more, and both cars are alot of fun to drive. I am guessing damage modelling will be added later?

    This mod is now way up on my most wanted list!

    Player/racing series and you will find Sof76. Thats both cars. Originally its Lotus only, somehow.

    The Lotus Europa sounds suspiciously like the Lotus Cortina from GTL.

    The Lotus sounds come from rFactor. Maybe you’re mistaking with the sounds someone stole from rF and made a Lotus-sound add-on for GTL. :wink:

    Just gave the X1/9 a run around Istanbul. One of my junior school teachers had one of these (yeah I’m that old) and it was the first time I`d laid eyes on one. A head turner in its day I suspect.
    Great models, great physics and the metallic paint look on the blue/gold Fiat is nicely done.
    This is a very polished piece of work and I can see the finished article being one of the top mods out there for rF.

    I’m tempted to render that Fiat if I have the permission to do it.

    Fiat is almost too good :) Lotus is ok too, although its understeery nature need some practising from driver.

    Is it me or is the cockpit view of the Lotus a bit naff. On my PC the view I’m getting looks like what it would be if a 9 year old was driving. The streering wheels blocking my view… :smile:
