THIS was the one I’d been waiting for–can’t wait to get home and try it!

 Outstanding! The light weight, reasonable power, and excellent handling of these spec racers make them a blast to compete in. To the developer – thanks!

Just one minor complaint – the stock 360 engine sounds in GTR2 as used here are not very good (poor sync between ranges).

we felt as though tweaked 360 sounds were much better than the original rFactor offerings

Alright, I’m gonna post the same thoughts on this that I did at nogrip…

I just have to post further thoughts on this, I hope you’re open to constructive criticism…

The car likes to oversteer a lot going into the corners, but that’s not the end of the world… I think if we were allowed to soften the rear swaybar, or if you could increase the rear shock rebound values, you’d fix that. Right now it’s almost as if you have to anticipate every turn and correct AS you go in, like an old 911.

But that’s just a minor problem.

I have to tell you, the sound is just KILLING it for me, which is a shame because the car’s a hoot to throw around. I’ve driven a Formula Ford, and seen plenty of others as a spectator through the years, and I can tell you these things like a fair bit of rpm, and make a LOT of noise. The problem isn’t so much that you used a sound from an existing car, it’s that it’s from a car that normally does 9500 rpm! So it’s peaking in the Formula Ford much lower, and the resonance at that RPM is SICKENING. On my sound system with the sub woofer on the floor, it vibrates me whole desk and really thrums in my ears, and not in a good way. It SOUNDS like it wants to go another 3000 rpm (because it does, in the Ferrari it came from), but instead it just sits there. Going down the back stretch at Mosport in 5th gear was just excruciating to listen to.

If you can change the sound to something that sounds like an obnoxious 4 cylinder with some more revs, you’ve got a winner on your hands here.

Otherwise, great mod. The models are fantastic. I really hope my suggestions help…

meh… played around with it some more… handling is fine with a little tweaking, and the cars are certainly supposed to be twitchy… I maintain the drone is difficult to deal with, but I guess I’ll just the volume down when I drive these cars.

Fun to toss around though.

Great fun on short tracks, and again I thank you! I spent a happy three hours driving them last night, and most certainly will do some more today.

The sound “issue” apparently is an overlap thing – other than that it really does sound pretty much like the real thing. On my system it sounds much better if I reduce the audio to 2.1 instead of 5.1, so it may be mostly an audio system artifact here.

Which 360 sound tweak are you using, or is it only in the aud file settings?

Interesting… I have no sound tweaks. I was told the mod USES the sounds from the GTR2 Ferrari 360 (from idle to 5600 rpm, so you don’t actually get to hear a Ferrari whine)… I only have stereo though, not surround sound… I’m not sure what setting I could modify to help the drone…
