SimRaceWay – Mclaren F1 LM Now Available

SimRaceWay has added an iconic new race car to their online racing title as the Mclaren F1 LM is now available.

The Mclaren F1 LM is a strictly-limited special edition in celebration of Mclaren’s success at the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours which was won by the BMW V12 powered Mclarens at their first attempt.

The car is now available for SimRaceWay members to buy, selling for $12.50.

The base content of SimRaceWay is free for everyone to try, giving players access to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X as well as Mid Ohio, Infineon Raceway & Zandvoort. Additional content is available for purchase with prices ranging from a few cents to several dollars.

The title puts an emphasis on online racing, using a real-time skill matching system to offer close racing. Like SimRaceWay’s past website that was based on rFactor & other simulations, the new title will again be offering paid online races where players have to pay an entry fee to compete, free online events are available as well.

I’m not interested in Simraceway and I know it gets flak but this car is the envy of any sim. *cries*

    Beautiful car.

Yep, what I wouldn’t give to drive this in one of the sims I use frequently.
    Monsta!

When did they get a license from Mclaren?
I haven’t seen anything about Mclaren licensing anything since the MP4-12C.

You mean NFS 2. There is no McLaren in NFS 1 :P. But you’re right, that game is full of iconic cars like F1, F50, XJ220, GT90 (concept) etc…

Yep, you two + me + another 500,000 people I know all feel the same way lol

Mind you, for $12.50 for this car and the base track content doesn’t seem half bad, certainly peaked my interest in SRW a little. This and a decent Nords would tide me over long enough for me to feel I got my moneys worth. I guess that’s part of the free-to-play model, cast the hook with some interesting bait and hope people like me bite, and then keep biting on future content.

I recently downloaded the free stuff and then also spent $5 on street cars. If you like street legal cars in sims, then Simraceway is a good option for the pc user. I have only done hot-lapping at this point but I have enjoyed it. The FFB feels good and the track selection is pretty good too… including the new Circuit of the Americas.

The free car, the evo x, doesn’t feel great but the rear drive models do feel good. I used to own an RX7– same as in the game– and I think they did a good job with the virtual version (handling feel, looks and sounds). If you stick to street cars then the $5 can buy 3 or 4 depending on the models. And the tracks are free so you get a decent amount of content for free or just for $5.

Ah, the days when “NFS” in title meant it was a game worth trying/buying. These days, not so much. The early games were good.. or maybe it’s just me that’s changed? lol

I didn’t realize the tracks were free, thanks. Shows how much bad pricing/marketing can turn off customers, after hearing the silly car prices (along with all the previous drama) I didn’t investigate costs further.

As for the evo handing, I doubt any current game/sim can get that right due to all the complicated TCS, STM, ABS, DFS, MIVEC, SAWC, TCC, TCM, S-AWC and all the other complicated gizmos/acronyms the car is fitted with (although I hear GT5 does a good a job as it can). Crap car to choose as a demo unless you simulate all that and the true handling IMO.

Did anybody do a full review of simraceway. With this kind of cars coming i am curious how the game drives simracingwise.

if you are good at racing or hotlaps you can pay for cars that way. If you want some of the bigger cash you have to be very good! I just put $1.00 in for a chance at $100.00…not going to happen because I need more practice.
