SimRaceWay – Circuit of the Americas Released

SimRaceWay has added a new track to their simulation as the Circuit of the Americas is now available.

Located in Austin, Texas, the Circuit of the Americas is venue of the 2012 United States Formula One Grand Prix. SimRaceWay is the second simulation to offer a virtual version of the brand new track following Codemasters’ F1 2012.

Below is a comparison video of both versions, allowing us to check out similarities and differences.

The base content of SimRaceWay is free for everyone to try, giving players access to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X as well as Mid Ohio, Infineon Raceway & Zandvoort. Additional content is available for purchase with prices ranging from a few cents to several dollars.

The title puts an emphasis on online racing, using a real-time skill matching system to offer close racing. Like SimRaceWay’s past website that was based on rFactor & other simulations, the new title will again be offering paid online races where players have to pay an entry fee to compete, free online events are available as well.

I’ve seen several different game versions of this track now and none of them are interesting. They should have reduced the corner count by at least 5-7 and made the existing corners more interesting.

Look at a lap of Monaco, Spa, or Suzuka. You know exactly where you are in the course and the challenges specific to that sector. Here they all look the same and don’t seem to contain any challenges other than not mistaking one turn series for another.

P.S. – I like SRW’s elevation change and clouds more and F1 2012′s environment textures more.

I wish they had T1 have a descending braking zone instead of ascending to make it more interesting.

First you should stop the copy and paste of the paragraph about Simraceway because is wrong information. ALL content is free, you start with one car and can buy others with credits or real money. Credits are won by simply doing laps in the events.
    Now
for the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) I totally agree with Eric.
Beside the silly name it’s just a terrible, half baked and lazy attempt
of a layout and there are no excuses for it at this age of computers and
    simulators.

Yeah, but turning laps in SRW is more banal and annoying than just working for an extra hour.

This is my first time seeing this track, and I’m in full agreement.

I think all of us here have our own vision and/or designed our own dream track at some point. Now considering America has got many great circuits the majority of the world (outside simracing) don’t know about. Why/how have they have started from a blank slate and come up with something so bland, for F1 of all motorsports!

Because it’s better for Tilke to make a brand new awful track than for him to screw up one of the currently awesome US circuits. I would have hated it if he added chicanes to Road America, repaved Sebring, or turned Mid Ohio into a featureless parking lot.

Sooooo Is this post an AD?
Sponsored by Sim Raceway i’m guessing?

Can VirtualR please identify posts that are ADs properly please as i’m sure there is no other reason for the sticky.

probably the most pointless comparison ever. only thing u can compare here is graphics. u cant compare how accurate the track is modeled. even f1 teams have no access to the track until the week the actual gp is happening. (and they are not happy about it)

Is that supposed to be sarcasm or are you seriously asking this?

An ad? It dosen’t even contain a backlink to their site..

Just to put your mind at ease: There are no sponsored postings or anything of the like on here. The only form of advertising are the clearly identifiable banners… nothing hidden in content.
