SimRaceWay has introduced an iconic new road car to their free to play racing simulation as the BMW M3 E30 Sport Evolution is now available for purchase.

The Sport Evolution was the most extreme version of the legendary E30 M3, serving as the homologation model for the BMW M3 DTM race car. The car is available for the price of $1 within SimRaceWay.

The base content of SimRaceWay is free for everyone to try, giving players access to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X as well as Mid Ohio, Infineon Raceway & Zandvoort. Additional content is available for purchase with prices ranging from a few cents to several dollars.

The title puts an emphasis on online racing, using a real-time skill matching system to offer close racing. Like SimRaceWay’s past website that was based on rFactor & other simulations, the new title will again be offering paid online races where players have to pay an entry fee to compete, free online events are available as well.

I think simraceway is sweet! FFB and Physics feel good. My GPU doesn’t sound like its going to take off into space running 3 screens. Sure the online pick me up isn’t as nice as iracing, but driving that BMW 1 M series feels really good.

Why doesn’t simraceway get much love?

    • Mario Strada

Probably because the online racing is was subpar and it has been that way for a long time. Plus, the game itself is basically a custom rFactor but inferior to other games like GSC that use the same engine.

I personally don;t mind it, but the biggest race I have ever done there was a 5 laps extravaganza with 6 drivers, 2 of which bailed out on lap 1.

Well, it’s basically FTP rFactor, and the company running it had a bad reputation for using content without permission (AFAIK, no such allegations have been made with regard to Simraceway). Also, Montoya continues to incorrectly imply that only 3 tracks are free, which isn’t true.

Several alleged Mid Ohio was ripped off from somewhere else (comment lines were identical).

I thought that ended up being that they had paid the original creators to use it… pretty sure that’s where a lot of their content comes from.

I thought in the end someone compared the models and it turned out to be in fact different models even though they appeared to be the same? ( it’s the same car after all) and the matching first lines were explained as being the standart basic lines of the engine, or something like that.

Either way, Simraceway claims all cars were done by them and the sound is actually done by the same guys who do it for project Cars.

all the 20 or so tracks are FREE and you get 3 free cars, not just the EvoX so dont know where you got that info from. This M3 drives really well

    • Marco Hooghuis

3 free cars? since when? I only got the evo for free

It’s getting better but still WIP beta I think why the game does not get much love are the car liveries are too plain jane and not racey enough so what do you want a Blue car or a black car? Maybe orange. So what number are you? EFF if I know? LOL
