Simbin – Multi-Platform Title Plans

According to German site Speedmaniacs.com, Simbin is already planning to produce new titles using their Lizard engine, which are also planned to be released for the Playstation 3. Contrary to rumors floating around, the Swedish developer confirmed there are currently no plans for a PS3-only title.

A very possible option for the future are multi-platform titles though as Simbin is thinking about releasing a successor to RACE Pro for the PC, Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Producing one title for several platforms has lots of advantages, including cutting costs and attracting new audiences.

It remains to be seen what this means for PC sim racers though as PC versions of multi-platform titles often come with certain limitations in terms of graphics, simplified menu interfaces and other details.

But, PS3 has proper FF-wheel support, so possible Simbin-sim for it sounds just great.

    RIP Simbin.

At least everyone is still employed am I rite folks? How long until that becomes the rallying call of mediocrity across this entire industry? Anyway I enjoyed GTR 2 and GT Legends…

All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best. I’m not buying a crappy console, even for SimBin.

Well – all the best to Simbin and here’s hoping it works out. I think this is much better than the alternative, which is to say – how much progress has the genre made over the last few years? Is GTR Evolution a sizeable step up from GT Legends given the time difference? Not really. Time to mix it up. Releasing new games which are little more than glorified car/track packs isn’t going to cut it for much longer I don’t think.

I say, “CONGRAT’s” to SimBin, develop games across all platforms, just make sure you develop for PC and port over to 360/PS3 :sd:

The more funds they can generate, the better the games will be, I hope! They know what sells a good game, stick to your roots, make great PC games and port over to console.

    Good Luck SimBin!

It’s not that easy to “port over” to PS3. I think they have to spend a lot of time and ressources in rewriting their code for the PS3.
