Silverstone in Red Bull’s rFactor Pro Simulator – Video

The Formula One World Championship is racing at Silverstone next weekend and as usual, the Red Bull Formula One Team has released a video of the upcoming track in their simulator.

The video shows Red Bull F1 driver Mark Webber driving and narrating a complete lap, giving us a chance to check out their virtual version of the brand new 5.9 kilometer arena circuit configuration of Silverstone that is used for F1 racing for the very first time.

Like four other Formula One teams, Red Bull uses the Pro-version of rFactor for their simulator that is used for driver and crew training and other tasks.

Jeez even I’m gonna have a complain about this now.

Their stupid editors are showing less and less of the track and more of the useless animation and Mark’s face with every new video. At least I recognised the grass texture…

Looks like Red Bull did not got the new Silverstone layout on time. They show the new layout on the map but put away the onboard when traveling it.

Where is Kovalinen in the simulator…
    *hehehe*

I agree Fernando. As Mark approaches the new “Arena” section he is on the racing line for the old layout (right side of the track). The fast right hander into the Arena requires the car to be on the left hand side of the track.
I’m guessing Red Bull filmed all the track layouts on the simulator with Mark at the start of the season??

If they couldn’t get the Arena layout done for this year, what will they do for Yas Marina? I doubt they’re going to use one of the rough versions available now, but I guess they could just do what they have done all year and only show 5 seconds of the actual track.
