Silverstone 2010 Layout Unveiled Using rF Pro

The F1Driving.it team has been at Silverstone last weekend as the British Grand Prix was used to unveil the 2010 layout of the famous motorsports venue. To give drivers and VIPs a detailed idea on the layout changes, a simulator was set up where a virtual version of the planned track could be tried.

The 2010 version of Silverstone was presented using rFactor Pro, several well-known drivers took the chance to lap the new track, including former F1 World Champion Damon Hill and Stefan Johannson. Visit ARC_Team’s website for more photos and info on the presentation.

    the news article on the ARC site is a bit misleading, ARC were hired to provide the simulator only, the track and demo were supplied and organised by rfPro in conjunction with the architects.

    I can’t believe they’re scrapping Bridge Corner!

    it’s not being scrapped as such but the motogp bikes can’t use it, the new layout is an alternative one that can be used instead of going through Bridge and Priory.
    Though there is nothing to say which layout will be used for which event

    I see Bradley Smith had a drive around the track, wonder what his opions are as a 125 racer.

    Wow… those changes are pretty dramatic! If F1 adopts this track (assuming silverstone is back on the calendar for 2010) It will be interesting to see if the new layout presents more overtaking opportunities.

    I heard FCMGmods.com is releasing a 2010 Silverstone with new arena section (for normal rfactor)
