Just downloaded this content, not tried it yet, the feedback on the official Assetto Corsa forums are it’s an amazing mod, physics are on par with the PnG mod.

not tried??? how can you resist? =D it’s an amazing piece of heaven

  • Chris Wright

I’m trying to remember a week in sim race history when a title had so many mod announcements and releases. It’s getting insane, but loving it of course.

It seems the mod community is very much voting with its feet in terms of the title it most wants to support – at least that’s how it’s looking to me.

There’s a lot to be said for the good old “cut and paste” method of mod installation too. You kind of feel in control of what’s going on. Just my two cents.

    • melanieuk1

Have to agree when you’ve well known content creators from the past like Madcowie & GSMF to name a few taking an interest in Assetto Corsa modding features

    • Mark

Agreed. Assetto Corsa is almost certainly the new rFactor.

      • wajdi nujeidat

Too bad 99% of these mods are conversions from rFactor and others Sims, lol!

      • melanieuk1

That’s how it was with rfactor when it was first released, and that’s how it is with rfactor2 right now, in fact it seems like all modding activities has died with rfactor 2 and there’s no quality stuff coming out since feels3 was taken by simbin, point me to a scratch made circuit for rfactor 2, and a scratch made car for that matter, something that is not created by URD would be great, because right now they are the only ones creating scratch made content for rfactor 2, and that’s been released for almost two and a half years.

      • Chris Wright

I think it’s probably wrong to say nothing is happening with rF2 as we’ve had a few stories lately of some quite interesting new mods, including a laser scanned Laguna Seca.

What I find more telling/concerning is that there still isn’t a full Indycar car set for the DW12. A few paints have kind of crawled out of the woodwork at No Grip Racing, but no sign of a full car set, which you would have thought would have appeared at the speed of light in the rF1 days. Maybe someone knows of a set that’s imminent?

Whatever the case, the sheer volume of AC mod announcements and releases in the past few days has been almost overwhelming.

      • melanieuk1

Ok I agree, but I still stand by what I said, I’ll add MAK Corp to the content creator creating scratch made content for rfactor2 along side URD.

      • http://iamkittx.blogspot.com/ KittX

ahem, symmons plains and nissans maybe?

      • Michael Hornbuckle

The fact that there is any scratch made content this early in the life of AC is shocking actually.

  • http://iamkittx.blogspot.com/ KittX

Now that looks amazing. The sounds aren’t best yet IMO, but yep, that would be changed I guess.
Does AC support animated car parts? Would love to see the quarter glass and sun visor wobbling at higher speeds :)

    • The Dark

it does. Pagani Huayra has them and the MP412C I think.

    • Marcel

i thought the same thing. In the Lotus 49 the gear stick wobbles at different rpms

  • Reachy

Best mod out yet ! For everyone who will try it, make sur you have around 70% on the front brakes, otherwise you will keep spinning when braking ^^
FBB is fantastic 10/10 so far, the physics are great I just completed a lap of the Nordschelife 1.0 without crashing (that is an achievement for me :p).
    Thank you for this car.

  • Vhr Stockcar

Ok….I want to try this wicked looking mod. In basic terms how do I install a mod in AC, I am so used to rfactor.

    • David Hughes

Just copy the folders into the AC content/cars/ folder

      • Vhr Stockcar

Thanks buddy….I got in the game, pretty easy….I’m going to run laps, I need to convert my mod into AC now.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

There is already a nice scratch made Dover that is progressing nicely…also, Jacksonville Speedway was just converted and released also…
There are a few things that you will have to work around for the stock cars, but can’t wait to see the progress you make.

  • GamerMuscle

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG9bOjL30Rk

THIS CAR IS UNBELIEVABLE just put in more laps after doing this video it keeps getting better.

    • Dani .

      Use 900º. Not a F1.

      • GamerMuscle

        I am using 900º..

    • David Hughes

Way OTT review to go along with OTT comments below.

It is one of the best looking cars but the handling/physics are fairly average at the moment as demonstrated by most of the driving in this video.

      • melanieuk1

Way over the top in your opinion, while we are all driving and enjoying the content provided, you can continue to enjoy the physics in your favorite ten year old sim of choice, it’s not like you’re going to be sitting in the same room as us while we play our favorite sim, so your opinion is just that your opinion.

      • David Hughes

Not that you have anything against Gmotor sims.

      • melanieuk1

How could I, I own almost all Simulation title produced using the Gmotor Engine, apart from titles by Reiza, it’s just good to have something other than a gmotor based sim to play after all these years

      • GamerMuscle

Oh common have a cup of tea!

Its an awesome mod, I agree my driving in the video is really pore this type of older car is really alien to what I normally like to drive in a simulator.

But the point is the FFB and the car itself moves exactly as I would expect and after this video and getting used to it more its just so rewarding to just drive around with.

The Nissan Hakosuka mod for RF2 is also absolutely awesome in that regard as well.

  • Marcel

Slept less because of this mod. So much fun to drive, it’s my new favorite car. I feel like i have to donate something to thank the guys for their great work and perfect addition to Assetto Corsa

  • Michael Hornbuckle
    • Jos

now replace the sounds with this
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaLauG-qrDw

and also add the brake squeak.

    • Birddogg66

Environment’s greenery looks pretty bad! Car looks great. A $130,000 car with a 5 dollar environment seems legit?

      • melanieuk1

It’s converted from rfactor, what else do you expect, I’ve noticed conversations from other titles like LFS and NKPro looks way better in ac, than converts from Gmotor sims, and no this isn’t me against gmotor sim.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

Converted from Netkar which was probably converted from rfactor….it drives amazing and it has 40 pit stalls…

      • Birddogg66

Michael knows where I am coming from with this. A little harmless payback is all. :)

      • Michael Hornbuckle

        One more for fun!

AI seem to react pretty darn good?

      • http://iamkittx.blogspot.com/ KittX

Sorry but it’s you against gmotor sims.
There is no magic involved in modelling and textures, no Gryffindor and Slytherin techniques. In fact, most of NKPro tracks are converted from rFactor.
It’s only about how much time and effort modders are willing to afford.

      • melanieuk1

Really…Blackwood from Live For Speed is a conversion from rfactor and aosta, prato and newbury from NKPro are conversions from rfactor, because the ones I mentioned looks way better in ac than tracks converted from rfactor1, you maybe a great content provider, but please get your facts right, they are not conversions from rfactor, the developers at Live for speed, and Kunos gave permission for their content to be ported to assetto corsa, and l hope you yourself will make content for ac, as I find your fantasy circuits great.

      • http://iamkittx.blogspot.com/ KittX

I basically meant other tracks like Ring, and well any other existing addon tracks in NKPro, which were basically rf1 content. I thought you were speaking about them.
AC doesn’t like my Focusrite sound card, just won’t start at all. I will build another sim-rig eventually and give AC a go, but now i’m busy with other projects.
So far I have only 3rd party experience with AC editing, but my conclusions so far are the textures from gMotor must be brightness-tweaked, also a lot of gMotor tracks use multiple layers of multimapping, which is done completely different way in AC. I don’t say that it’s impossible to archive or too different, but it needs spending some time to learn, which not everyone are willing to spend.
The tree shading is done very wrong on most of addon tracks. Self-shadow on a x-shaped sprite tree is like a crime.
Also I wonder will Kunos implement billboard trees eventually?

      • Michael Hornbuckle

Sorry you don’t like my track…good thing it is private, huh?

      • Birddogg66

Oh I just had to return a favor hope you got a kick out of it.

ive watched real cobras and vintage cars on this track many times. excellent combination.

  • ImageArtSigns .

    Hello everyone,
I would have to say this is without any doubt my most favorite car to date, absolutely fantastic…just been for a spin around Lemans…love opening her up down the straights, mind you she is a bit of a handful when it comes to slowing down for the chicanes…lol. Perfect modding, and looking forward to any updates for this.
Now these modders have shown us what they can do I would happily pay for any future cars from them…I tip my hat to you, quality workmanship….69 Camaro Z28 anyone…lol

  • Roger Wallentin

Wow, based on the comments here this is really something special, not only in the looks department!

Im away for a few days but cant wait to give this a go as soon as I’m back! (along with all the new tracks etc!!!) And then we have a new update on Friday as well with the 1000hp Lotus 98T!

    AC is on FIRE! :)

    • Birddogg66

      AC is on FIRE! :)
      Yeah Media Fire :(

      • melanieuk1

https://www.ghostery.com/en/ way better than adblock or noscript.

      • Phil Oakley

Media Fire is generally OK. Rapidshare or anything like that? Nope.

      • Birddogg66

I wonder if the free uploaders stuff gets jammed with these redirects? As far as needing some type of program like adblock it will probably conflict with my security program. I would rather see more modders use Nogrip’s well trusted platform to upload onto for Assetto and help build their data base.

  • Birddogg66

I get redirected to one of those Malicious download managers that also pops up a bunch of crap ads. Totally Unacceptable means of distribution. Your car looks nice but not at the cost of risking the health of my PC. Give us a direct link or give up!

    • melanieuk1
      • Birddogg66

Sorry if you think it was way over the top. However voicing my opinion about a sight we are directed to that tries to get you to click on something so it can load a possible PUP on your PC is over the top and we should always be given options for mirrors.

    • Michael Hornbuckle

Maybe you need to look into Adblock or something…original link took me straight to the download and less than two minutes later I was installing…Totally acceptable means of distribution for me.

    • The Dark

yes if you are running firefox then you should install noscript addon. then you will be quite safe. you only enable the scripts you want to run on that page – the relevant ones. i have no problem with download the file at all.

      • Birddogg66

I am on IE and in the US and just got finished having to reinstall my OS. So yes I am a bit sensitive ATM over where I am redirected to DL content. I agree with Melanie the Give Up comment was over the top but I am standing strong on the rest of it and will say it again. Uploaders Nogrip has an area now for Assetto Corsa and urge you to consider them.

      • The Dark

IE is not the best browser solution when it comes to security. i only use it very rarely if a webpage doesnt work in firefox or chrome but that hardly happens now if ever.

firefox + noscript will keep you safe and i think you can get that addon for chrome too. up to your though.

      • Birddogg66

Well I have tried those other browsers and can’t stand them for more than a short period of time due to the lack of some of the options IE has in regards to page sizing. As for one issue that I can’t get past

      • The Dark

page sizing? do you mean zoom levels?
Firefox is great with this as it is CTRL+ to zoom in, CTRL- to zoom out and CTRL 0 to reset to normal zoom.
and firefox remembers your settings for each site.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c82KZ_-DJE

  • Birddogg66

I like the car looks nice and the physics of it are pretty close. I think it’s a touch over the edge and would like to see a wee bit more stability. Mostly under hard braking and high speed corners where aero comes into play. I know these things are characteristic of the car and it is pretty close but just a touch excessive nothing real major but makes a difference.

    • rino demeulemeester

Move the brake bias to the front mate, and a bit of heel & toe keeps it nice and steady under braking. And the only aero you’ll get on a Cobra is wind in your hair ;)

      • Birddogg66

No there is possibly too much brake to the front since the nose want to pull one way or the other and there may very well be too much coast at default level. Also the car is created with a lot of wheel rotation so matching my steering angle a little might help. I stay say it’s slightly over the edge or the edge needs to be smoothed a hair because I believe it could really be one of the great add-on sim cars for any title.

  • ftrracingtv

Best cars I have driven for a long time

  • The Dark

phew. this car is good to drive. i tried at Mugello and have to admit I lost the car – the SC version – at the kink just after the start/finish line on the way to the first corner. maybe its my ffb being too high and when i try to correct i use too much.
very much fun but can be frustrating when the car says “no not this time baby” under hard braking. :)

    • Birddogg66

It’s extremely close huh but still a slight turn of the wrench might help

    • F1Racer

heh, funny you should say that. I have lost it at that kink a few times myself. Trying to keep it as straight as possible but somehow the car gets upset and feels like the left barrier suddenly has magnetic properties for the car :)

  • ASUSNEX

Looks awsome but the physics needs some tweaking.
In high speed the rear begins to wandering even in
a straight line. Cornering in high speed is a little to
scary at this point. But I Think this car should be a beast
to drive. Its a hard car to drive in real life but the hard part
is now at the wrong place in terms off realistic behavior.

    • melanieuk1

Shelby Cobra for Assetto Corsa 0.1, no other content (mods) at this stage feels so good i’m sure by the time it reach 1.0 you’ll love it even more.
These’s guys have set the bar high for all, including content creators, professional software developers, and modders.

    • Justin Schmidt

this car has no downforce at high speed. it actually has the opposite. massive lift on the rear end. this is a design fault on the real car. that is why they did cut off the round rear on the shelby daytona and put the little wing on it.

      • Birddogg66

I agree very much that the cars rear has a tendency to want to lead the front and is characteristic of the car. The weight is evident in the chassis roll and most elements of the car are very good. Like I said with finicky cars like this it’s a fine line where on the edge is considered and how it relates to the overall realism of the handling of the car and I feel the car could be slightly more stable and a tad more resistance to 180deg spins. It would be a crime to eliminate this behavior for this car but the car needs to be a tad more drivable at high speeds and a tad more stable with hard braking this may very well take the prize for best AC Sim Cobra Ever!

    • Racing jason

absolutely great effort guys!:) stunning graphics…but i totally agree that the car acts very strange beyond 180kmh….on nordschleife the cobra flies off the track automatically once you go faster than this

  • Philbert GTR UK

“AI improvements, better gas control and understeer detection” Hows about the ability for them to actually stay on the track, have an awareness of other cars and not swerve randomly under braking. I am fully aware that this is still in development but the AI just kills this game for me at the moment. Especially annoying as the actual driving in this game is amazing. If they can get the AI up to rFactor 2 standards, this game will be immense :D
