RSRBR 2014 – Released

Following their successful 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 versions, Rallysim has released the 2014 edition of their popular RSRBR mod for Richard Burns Rally.

As with past versions, the 2014 edition is single-handedly keeping Richard Burns Rally alive, equipping the title that was released back in 2005 with an endless stream of cars, stages and other improvements.

Plenty of documentation on how to set this massive mod up can be found here, available in several languages including English, French Spanish, Turkish & more.

    Richard Burns Rally.”

    Got a bit of a problem there, I think…

Yes indeed, it’s an interesting find that 2014 comes between 2012 and 2013, and that it’s almost over! :)

They fixed it, you twits. xD

Do you really have to do all these steps to install this?

    • Big Ron

Seems so. I installed RBR a few weeks ago to try RSRBR 2013. But all these fuzz for installation, having runtime errors etc. just stoped me from trying.

      • Realkman666

Finally got it to work, but seriously, this feels like a ritual devised by a sect. I guess smart people are supposed to be a bit crazy too.

      • Big Ron

Hehe, good one. I tried several times, downloading from differen sources, but always ending in a fatal error when trying to install the mod while the stock RBR and patches installed very fine.

      • Realkman666

If you ever try again, make sure you do this step by step. http://forum.rallyesim.fr/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=431

It’s not hard, just have a clean install of RBR and double click on the installation files:)

    • Anonymous

you should be used to it from rfactor.

      • Realkman666

Yeah, I didn’t think anything could beat rF2.

I still think the original RBR cars remain so much better than any of the addon cars in RSRBR or RBR-World. They all feel so incredibly, dare I use the word, arcadey. Only reason I install these is for the addon tracks :p

i can believe that – i’ve only ever played RBR stock (with camera modifications – no cockpit cam = not cool).
However even from videos i’ve seen, the addon cars appear to have ludicrous amounts of grip.

What i’d really like to see is a dashboard modification that allowed proper individual dashes for each car. Not sure how possible it is but it is something RBR is really lacking (esp as the default dash seems confusing – the rev counter at least seems to have loads of revs after the redline icon – so i never really know where you are meant to shift. The engine certainly sounds a lot nicer if you shift before it though.

There are some individual dashes out there. You could also change the existing dash to your liking. Look what I did with my dash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry2uBn8HBVg

Yes, that certainly looks a lot nicer.

It’s still a shame it can’t be integrated into each individual car though, as part of the 3d model. That is what i am hoping for really :$

As a side note, that stage looks mentally narrow! Cool!

HI all. Am I the only one who can’t download this?? I can download through any server or even torrent but but my pc says it is a virus…
When downloaded through the servers the file just stays there as a .tmp file…
    I just dont get it.
    thanks

    • jrw27288

I am having the same issue, it downloads 99 percent then just turns into a tmp file, that’s with IE, chrome and firefox says the download has failed when it first starts and the torrent download does the same thing as IE

The file linked here (assuming I am going to ever be able to downloading it) is not the full 2014 mod or is it? I remember that for 2012 and 2013 I had to install a bunch of car packs and track packs and stuff. Most were updates too.I tried to figure it out on the site but as usual it is very confusing, referring back to the 2013 mod whenever there is a link to additional files.

There is an Angel at RaceDepartment that wrote a comprehensive tutorial on how to install 2013. Hopefully he’ll do the same for 2014

I like this game. I have a love and hate situation when it comes to installing the mods. With the awesome mods for the past few years they should or could run a kickstarter for a standalone sim.

Don’t murder the messenger but I wouldn’t be surprised if nothing tops rbr in our lifetimes or ever.

  • robert44

I just got it can I just download 2014 version or do I have download from 2010 first
