RSRBR 2010 – Released

Following their extremely popular RSRBR 2009 mod for Richard Burns Rally, Rallysim has released the 2010 version of their mod that gives the still-popular title a complete overhaul.

The new version is released as base package and car packs that can be added to the mod. The main package weighs 706 megabytes, including no cars. The cars are added in different packs, including cars from today’s WRC, Group N, S2000 as well as classical rally cars, giving drivers a rich choice of vehicles to choose from.

The cars can be download either in packs for each class or as an all-in-one pack for those who want the full dose right away.

Since some users have had problems getting the 2009 version to run, make sure to start off with a fresh Richard Burns Rally installation and check out this tutorial to find out how to get this extensive mod running.

Cool, I always wanted to try this game. Anyone know where I can buy it in Australia?

  • orubasarot

I’m going to give this another shot, but the 3 updates I’ve tried so far were somewhat incomprehensible. Still this is as good as it gets for rally.

I picked mine up from a bargin bin at EB Games in Australia :) $20

  • yokelhama

Thx MartinWA, I’ve found a couple on aus ebay but will check the bargain bins first. I tried the demo ages ago but couldn’t get ffb working (Vista64 + Logirech DFP) Definitely keen to give it another shot!

Never got my head around this update. Never worked properly and ate an excessive amount of disk space for what it was.

Sad that the big two rally games… Both drivers associated are dead:(

We’d need a new rally game instead … not an 567th add on … I like RBR very much but it’s already old scool …
I know Dirt 2 is out but they failed … it’s an american crap … it’s a joke .. the name selection too .. why not Ken Block Rally or something … this is mockery of the name of Colin Mc Rae …

Sorry but I don’t agree with any of that. DiRT 2 was never designed to be a simulation nor did anyone ever say it was. Its great fun to play and has fantastic sound and graphics and better attention to detail than a lot of sim games out there. Tyre flex, suspension/driveshafts moving and the water effects on the screen are all great. Also they did a tribute video and a tribute race – I’d assume he probably signed a contract for a few games to have his name before he died so they are still allowed to use his name.

I do agree we need a new sim though – hopefully we’ll get one that is as realistic as RBR – well even more realistic would be nice.

Oh, it’s time for 2010-version already… just little time ago I installed patch #10 in my 2009-version of RSRBR.

Can I put this over it?

  • Vonsaku

Omg- downloaded and installed RSRBR2009 yesterday, patches from 04-11 + btb stages, and now you say that i need to unistall and reinstall + download 15gig of stuff? :sd:

Hope they have handled “tires in the trunk while in multiplayer mode on same cpu fault”.

  • wheeler

Will stages designed for RSRBR2009 work with the 2010 version? If yes, where can I download them?

  • Uff

Easier than expected: I just reinstalled RBR from the ground, put 1.02 patch and then base + full car pack. Everything went fine. So far there’s just a car that makes my RBR crash (a Peugeot 207, if I remember well), maybe it will be fixed in a future update.

  • N0body Of The Goat

I tried to install this on the same RBR install that has Season 2009 (upto patch 10) on it, but no dice… Something about the RBR installation being in the wrong “program files” within Vista :/

I will hunt out the CD (that cost a whopping fiver a few years ago) and try again! This is one of those games I like, but somehow it regularly gets less lovin’ than Rfactor; GTR Evo; Shift etc. but the new GT3 RS Clubsport wheel setup I now have makes me want to try it! :D

  • Tip

You need to uninstall RSRBR 2009 before as said on the modding team of RSRBR mods, you can’t install both on the same install it doesn’t work. RSRBR 2010 isn’t an update for anything, it’s a full new mod.

  • Paul Kelly

I never liked the changes in physics of the RSRBR mods compared to the original game. Just never felt right to me. I hope those who feel otherwise enjoy the latest RSRBR update.

  • wheeler

I have installed like Uff, but when I run the rally school I get errors (reading pacenotes from Maps/***) and game crashes. Help please.

  • hoboracer

You can do multiple installs with rbr.

  • mattabater

loving the subby feels very right to me.
