RR Racing Experience – Close Beta Coming Up

Following the release of the RaceRoom Racing Experience Teaser a few weeks ago, Simbin is about to kick into higher gear with the new title.

The next step in terms of development is a closed beta for which Simbin will be recruiting thousands of testers. The beta will allow testers to try various features, cars and tracks the final game will offer.

To make applying for the beta as easy as possible, Simbin will soon be releasing an update for the RaceRoom Racing Experience Teaser that will allow interested sim racers to apply for the beta programme right from the menu.

    I’m definitely interested

Are the teaser worth a shoot ??? or is it to much arcade, thinking u cant turn of aid.

Will traction control and ABS be forced on throughout the BETA process?

U can switch it of in the beta!

Give it a go I quite enjoyed it

    It worth!!

RaceRoom Racing Experience demo is totally unplayable with my CSR E + CSPv1.
It says it can’t find the pedals, no matter how I configure them (combined or not). Even then, I can map them and make them work, but then the game doesn’t respond correctly and it’s impossible to drive.
This is with the latest driver and firmware.
Anybody had the same issue and solved it ?

You can sw….oh never mind ;)

Wouldn’t mind being part of this.

No issue with my CSPv1 pedals…or GT3RS wheel, for that matter. Are you running them through the wheel? I have them running right to the computer.

I’ve got a feeling that how good this game feels is right now largely down to controller suitability. Recently moved up from a DFP to a G27 and, frankly, there’s no comparison. Feels vastly better, a much bigger difference than I’ve experienced with any other title. Therefore I’m a little more excited by this one, after an underwhelming couple of previous sessions with the DFP.

  • Kendra Jacobs

It’s not overly arcade no, for reference it’s much much more realistic than project cars, but not rFactor 2, Game Stock Car or Netkar Pro level.

Its actually damn fun, not the most hardcore physics model, but not so simplified that you get bored after 15 minutes either.

    It’s a very good balance :)

I can’t wait to be able to adjust the aids in future versions

  • Eric Zehnder

Wow. You played a single car, single track of this game on an officially lower level physics model and all aids on and you believe it’s better than the game you constantly badmouth?

    #grainofsalt
    #whatelseisnew

  • Kendra Jacobs

I dont constantly bad mouth PCars anymore, I except what it is, and it is amazing for what it is :).

Also, where did you hear that the current version of Raceroom is using a different physics engine than the upcoming version? That would be a pretty massive job to do, and would make the current version of Raceroom totally irrelevent and pointless in terms of physics (just like the current version of PCars is, as a new tyre model and apparently physics model aswell are comming out).

Do you have a link with this info? I would be interested thanks.

Also, on a side note, I didnt know that different tracks are needed to judge a physics engine, I didnt know that physics are different on different tracks, but ok :)

It’s definitely worth a try, it feels great even with the forced aids, far from “arcade”. It takes awhile to learn the track but once you do and start pushing the car, it’s fun and challenging. I’m really looking forward to it.

Well, howzabout simulating different materials of track surface for example? Did you realize that the track in the teaser is like shiny freshy laid down tarmac all way round? So we dont know yet how well the game plays on used tracks with bumps, broken and used tarmac.

There is a well known comedian that once said: “If you dont know what the hell you are talking about – why dont you just shut the f*** up?” These words of wisdom apply perfectly for you.

  • Kendra Jacobs

    .
    WOW! What the???

Why am I getting told to shut the f*** up just because I said racerooms physics arent as good as RF2, GSC and Nk Pro?

Read the post again, I was all praise about the game, i said its a very good balance and its pretty simmy, just not AS sim as those other 3… whats wrong with saying that?

    Whats with the attacks?

You dont need to have tons of bumps on a track to determine vehicle dynamics of a physics engine/car handling, Having added bumps just lets you see those physics in action on a bumpy more skittish surface, it doesnt mean you cant analyse physics without a really bumpy track.

Theres about a million things that determines physics, not just bumps.

How different amounts of throttle/braking/steering, and different throttle/braking/steering techniques effect things like weight transfer, how different loads affect grip and overal handling, how complex those handling changes feel in relation to your throttle/brake/steering inputs, etc etc etc thats what analysing physics is, didnt know all that was irrelevant unless you have tons of bumps on a track, but ok????

  • Eric Zehnder

The physics level / modelling level we’re looking for is “Get Real” and this is not that level. Check the Q&As on this site. Additionally it has the aids on so experiencing any kind of grip limits is fairly artificial.

The Beta just announced that you can sign up for (as of today, apparently) is going to have the modes we need to actually check the game out.

I’m hoping to sign up when I get home and get in to the Beta to check the “Get Real” mode out.

  • Kendra Jacobs

    Excuse me to Mr. Moderator.

Why did you delete part of my post?

I said along the lines of “Wow, why are people attacking me for saying Raceroom isnt as good in the physics department as RF2, NK Pro and GSC, but it is still a very good game, and I praise it very much”

Why would a moderator just randomly delete that?

Moderators just delete whatever random parts of peoples posts that they feel like? Even when the post is not offending anyone or breaching any rules?

    What the???……………………………

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

That is not quite what the deleted part contained and you know it!
Obviously I’m not going to re-quote it but basically you asked Felix why he said what he said and then you said ‘all because I said Raceroom isnt as good as RF2, NKPro GSC.’ It was all in the one sentence and I’m not going to sit and restructure it all to make it nice.
If I only removed the language part of the sentence then the rest of that sentence wouldn’t have made sense (especially with Felix having had his post edited).

If you choose to break the rules by using (or re-quoting) bad language then you risk having your post edited.
So you were offending and you did breach a rule. Don’t want your posts edited ? No bad language then. And using asterisks do NOT make any difference.

Maybe be a bit more careful next time and don’t use or requote offensive language.

  • Kendra Jacobs

If i re-quoted his offensive language then ya, for sure I understand the deletion of that part, because it contained offensive language, makes sense, and I fully agree and understand the post edit….

    BUT…

On a complete seperate sentance (you said above it was all in one sentance), I said along the lines of “Wow why am I being attacked”.

I am almost 100% sure that was on a completely seperate line and sentance, so I dont understand why that part would just randomly get deleted from my post………..

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

It was not random. As I said, if I had just taken out the language part,, the rest would not have made sense because it was in response to something Felix has said which got deleted.
I’m not getting into a thing with you here Kendra. Just be a bit more careful in future then there would be no need for any of this.

  • Anonymous

    Ok, thanks.
Maybe that’s solved with the new demo, haven’t tested it yet.
    Cheers !

  • Kendra Jacobs

be careful for what? I never said anything bad or offensive and never offended anyone in any way shape or form. Its Felix Schmidberger that you should be telling to be careful, geez.

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

I told Felix to watch his language. Essentially the same thing.
It’s only you that is dragging this out. Be careful about re-quoting or using bad language in your posts is obviously what I meant.

I’m done with you on this topic. Stop arguing with me and move on now. What’s done is done.
