Road Atlanta 2007 – Preview Video

Posted on January 7th, 2009 in

While other American road courses like Mid Ohio, Portland or Laguna Seca are already available, rFactor still lacks a good version of Road Atlanta. Uzzi and friends are filling this gap with the 2007 version of the track which you can see in the preview video below.

Work on the track is well-progressed as cameras, track surface, textures and other things have already been taken care of. Located outside of Braselton, Gergorgia, Road Atlanta is a major United States road course, most famous for its sweeping downhill esses section. The track is home to the American Le Mans Series Petit Le Mans sportscar race held each fall.

I have been to this track many times. Mainly the 10h ALMS race but also with some SCCA club racing friends of mine. This is a track I really love to run. I can’t wait to see this one completed.

    Thanks for the update Uzzi!

The road textures are odd though. This track is labeled Road Atlanta 2007. Well in 2007 the track was repaved. Uzzi’s last beta had textures for the new 2007 pavement, now he went back to the old pavement. The old pavement had more character though. I guess you could label the track “Road Atlanta 2007 prepaving”. hahaha.

Thanks for the update Uzzi, it’s looking really good!

Easily one of the finest drivers circuits, it has a unique and wonderfully graceful flow. It is the quintiscential CART circuit. I can’t wait Uzzi. :sd:
