That’s the one thing i disliked about rFactor, the lack of Quality with soo many mods.
Minus CTDP/ GST rF2 would go a very long way with a ton more official content and less mods.

I have to admit, once I saw the rF2 video without the undercar shadow I just thought ‘Whats the point?’ and switched off.

Exactly What’s the point of making a comparison video to reality when you turn shadows off? Completely ruins any sense of comparison.

rFactor 2′s color looks better, but equally looks unrealistic. This would be a prime example of why I don’t understand people who bitch about graphics… rFactor 1′s graphics were great, maybe some tweaking in lighting here or there, but other than that, it was damn close to real life.

Does his PC struggle to run rF2, as it appears to have the gfx turned down and certainly does not show off rF2 in a great light.

Yep, rF1 (like others such as GTR2) still cuts it imo. In fact I’ve recently re-visited my old favourite GP4 and I’m using one of the recent F1 mods on it, and it still looks damn good with the hi-res textures and new tracks from the modders. It was ahead of its time in so many areas.

These games can’t touch pCARS or even Codemasters F1 games in the visuals department but I don’t enjoy them any less because of it. It’s all about what you get out of the game/sim.

To be fair, almost everything in rFactor is a mod. I don’t think anybody out there just plays rFactor 1 without mods. Heck, rFactor 2 hasn’t been released yet and the mods are all over the place.

I’m waiting until to release to see if they can organize all the extra content in a way that makes sense and works consistently. Could be really good then.

True. I recently bought NetKar Pro so I could see what the fuss was about and I understand where people are coming from now. It’s a very weird shift from my testing of Project CARS (since it launched).

I enjoy NetKar Pro’s driving and FFB immensely but the graphics are terrible especially for add-on tracks. That takes me out of the game. However, Project CARS has amazing graphics which is immersive as well and there are a few track/car combos that are right up there in driving feel to NKP. Many others at this stage take me right out, though.

Lesson: Gotta have it all these days! Makes me look forward to ALL these sims’ release dates.

Why he play on low, without shadows and then make comparison video?

Crappy video. They don’t even use a decent rF2 mod. the car floats and rF2 doesn’t have that problem. Poor mod, poor video. Also, the audio for rF2 was turned down so low- how can we compare?

So, how’s the rain look in rFactor 1? Oh wait… there’s no rain in motorsport! rFactor 1 is done. time to move on.

For you maybe. Many people still feel rF1 is alive and well and very much still going strong. Try HistorX or DRM mod on rF2….Oh wait…. you can’t.

Theres sooo many quality mods, get a grip
