rFactor Special Edition 2008 - Released

United Kingdom’s PC World is now offering a free copy of rFactor Special Edition 2008 for every pc and notebook purchase over 500 pounds. What’s rFactor Special Edition you ask?
Apparently, it’s the standard rFactor with one very interesting bonus car - The BMW F1.08. While BMW F1 cars are quite a tradition in rFactor circles, this one is rather different as evidence suggests it has not been made by CTDP but MMG instead.
Thanks to VirtualR reader Ryan Gilmore, you can grab the BMW F1.08 below and enjoy the third ever official BMW F1 car made for rFactor.

There is that BMW F1′07, but what car is second official F1?
Just looked at it myself and the Tyre options section does look very MMG.
The Model itself is ok but the tyres and rims don’t look right at all.
The First car is F1.06 that was released in rFactor v1150 - author is unknown so we persume ISI did this themselves. F1.07 was made by CTDP for ISI and was released as a Free mod in May last year. And this one which looks v.much like MMG have made it is the third installment of the rFactor/BMW Sauber relationship that is intially being released as a Free Game at PC World
It is an MMG car indeed. My renders of it will follow shortly.

Whatever I´ll do, comments will always be anonymous. If I include registration, people can use false data to post… not much improvement there.
Plus, I think that registering just to post a quick comment is a little too much to ask. Many comments here have been helpful to others, such as when people post hints and solutions… and I don’t want to discourage those people.
As long as you guys keep it clean, I won’t be getting involved in your battles - Go ahead and discuss…and let others decide what’s relevant and what’s not
Maybe a comment voting plugin similar to Youtube’s would be helpful here….
Frankly I read this site more than any other sim site because I became fed up with forums full of useless banter and little content… I hope the comments section here don’t head in the same direction!
Absolutely fantastic to see rFactor getting some public exposure, I was in PCWorld the other day and although I noticed the promotion I didn’t look close enough to see it was rF and not a generic arcade game as I expected. I just hope that the contributors get the recognition that they deserve and that this publicity leads to bigger and better things rather than more arguing!!

We here at MMG are very pleased & proud to be with ISI with this release, and feel our 08 mod is going in the right direction. We have big plans and more releases coming in the near future.

From what I know, neither Yanden nor Phil were directly involved in this making of this car. It was modelled and textured by other members of MMG.
So wouldnt it be easier to ignore the topic than just post something negative and abusive ? I think we all know by now that that sort of thing just goes nowhere.
