How these shots from Silverstone looks so good, or beter to say so much better than comparison shots of rF2 graphics posted few days ago? I don’t get it.

Wow! Now we’re cooking with heat! Great work, ISI!

Wish I never wasted my money on pCars. Seeing how “Loire” over there has about zero indication of life. The one, and only thing that really has potential to blow me away – a fully functional Le Mans with correct classes.

      Not holding me breath.

Just ask Ian Bell and he will give you your money back 😉

I think Ethone from V-LM is working to bring the 96 version to rf2.

    Can’t wait.. Looks ace.

    Yes this is looking awesome.

Says me who has been very negative about whatever ISI did in last ~15months.

But this looks REALLY good, coupled with already great ffb and overall feel of cars I can say again that rf2’s competitors will have a hard time :p

Looking very good. There seems to be a lot of screenshots at dusk though, when RF2 seems to look best, how about some midday shots for a good comparison to other sims?

Despite al negative comments about rF2 I still think it is gonna be a champ!

      • Mazda Mps

My comment wasn’t negative. I love RF2. Just would be good to compare to other sims I enjoy.

If you love rF2, why do you even need a comparison to other games ? What will that change in your eyes ?
Can’t you enjoy it for what it is, here and now ?
What good could it possibly bring us to know what other people think about something we already love ?

I’m interested in a technological sense.

Despite all negative comments on rF2 I still think it’s gonna be a champ! I own all the major sims form iRacing to pCars. They are all great in their own way but rFactor2 is the one I keep comming back to.

The road physics is the most understated (by simracers) feature of rF2. Most ppl base their opinion on a couple of laps on a green track because they don’t know how advanced the realroad physics are.

Screenshots are looking nice. Sky color and lighting add to the atmosphere. We will se how it looks in different times of day. Sunrise/ sunset with some fog are know to be best for screenshots.

this track looks different from others RF2 track ? improved graphic?

    • GamerMuscle

In the case of RF2 Some of the older tracks don’t exploit aspects of the engine that were more recently developed so this track is partly a showcase for the more recent graphical fetures of RF2.

Aside from that specific point ,allot of how good a game looks is down to the Texture and 3D artist rather than the game engine.

If you are familiar with First person shooters you can see that there is a massive range in quality or visual style between one game like Unreal 2003 and say Red Orchestra yet both games use the same fundamental technology and rendering.

Its the same as if you give a random guy on the street state of the art paint brushes and tools they are going to produce something that looks far worse than what a skilled artist could with the same tools or evan basic tools.

That’s not to say a good engine does not compensate or make things look better in general , certainly a skilled artist given better tools should be able push things father in a shorter time frame.
