Wow. A service to humanity that is. Keep up the great work! Thanks.

  • GamerMuscle

    Fantastic work !

Was Com8′s version scratch built ?
what specifically has pleclair done to it ?

I’m really great-full that the people who make these tracks make them public for free.

    • D3

I think it’s one of those conversions that eventually aren’t a conversion, in that pretty much everything in the track has been replaced and rebuilt from scratch.

      • Guest

It’s not rebuild from scratch. It’s converted to rF2 technical standards, and some parts remade, there’s not really aname for that apart composite. And Com8 started this from scratch in 2006/2007, you can find it on his blog

  • ftrracingtv

    looking good as always

  • Jeff Nagata

Tried the demo and to me, my tweaked GSC Extreme feels similar and maybe a has a little more realistic road feeling without the marbling and road build up, but they are going to implement that in the future. Even GTR2 tweaked and modded feels close and 1/10th of the cost.

    • Clutch Norris

If GTR2 feels close to rFactor 2 for you then you deserve to stick to GTR2.

      • 5hitm4k3r666

Why people always have to get so negative about someone? I can’t understand how he get’s gets better feel in GTR2, but feel is quite subjective, isn’t it.

        Keep calm guys.

      • Clutch Norris

Sorry i got used to reply to nonsense by nonsense, does it make any sense?

      • 5hitm4k3r666

        Hehe.

      • Jeff Nagata

Oh Clutch, you are so much smarter and I just speak nonsense, thanks for putting me in my place. Did you know that the RFactor2 and GTR2 run on the same engine? Probably, but in your mind, I am somehow just making ridiculous statements. It’s a good thing we have people like you who are game gods to put us little people in place. Sorry for having my opinion and it doesn’t jive with yours.

      • Clutch Norris

        You’re doing it again mate!

      • Jeff Nagata

Doing what game god? Here is a recent review by a owner of the game http://www.bsimracing.com/rfactor-2-ghost-town/.

      • Clutch Norris

Nonsense. rFactor 2 and GTR 2 don’t use the same engine at all.

      • 5hitm4k3r666

rF2 and GTR2 don’t run on the same engine.

    • wajdi nujeidat

Hahahaha…I still playing GTR2 and I still love it, but no way GTR2 feels and drive like rfactor2! however, nice try mate and try harder the next time!

      • Jeff Nagata

Have you tried mods and tweaks to the game itself? I said similar, but if you guys want to spend your money on that, fine but don’t put someone down for not being a RFACTOR2 fan boy. I didn’t even say anything negative. What about GSC Extreme, no comment?

      • Alceste Delacour

rF2 has more complex physics than everything else by far, but sometimes it’s not really well tweaked, unlike GSC.

      • Jeff Nagata

Where do you get your info from? Rfactor and Rfactor pro are still the benchmark for sim calculations and is used in real driving simulators for practice. So how can you say that RF2 has more complex physics when it uses the same engine but has been modded to add other various driving factors. Personally, I like how Rfacto2 feels and if it were say 39.00 or 49.00 with no online subscription, I would have bought it already.

      • Alceste Delacour

An engine can evolve over time and grow more complex. I still think GSC is more enjoyable sometimes, even while being simpler in the handling department.

      • Jeff Nagata

Harder to handle does not make it more realistic. For instance, my 08 CBR1000rr is easier to handle than say a 88 Honda Interceptor , but they are both using the same road at the same speed.

      • Alceste Delacour

The cars in GSC are über-stable, though, overly forgiving.

      • Jeff Nagata

Try the STCC track pack and the WTCC cars from http://m3challenge.webs.com/stockcar.html. Fun. I think Race 07 and F1 2014 are too stable and GTR2 comes in third on that issue.

      • Alceste Delacour

I think the STCC stuff doesn’t have updated features and AI. Was good in Race though.

      • Jeff Nagata

Just check it out and also try the 03 Bentley Lemans. It’s free.

      • Alceste Delacour

I’m certain that I did. Is the Bentley from GT?

      • Jeff Nagata

No, it’s just a single car. The WTCC 2012 seems to be the best, I didn’t like the Megane, Clio, DTM, ETCC or DRM mod. Their handling was weird. I did like the Porsche and the kinda the Lexus ones.

      • Alceste Delacour

        V8 Supercars?

      • Jeff Nagata

Nope, it is in the category of single cars.

      • Alceste Delacour

I was just wondering. They also have a Zonda! With that and the new Nord for rF2, I’ll have a busy evening.

      • Jeff Nagata

I haven’t tried the Zonda since I have AC, but the Red Bull X1 is crazy fast. I don’t think it’s really realistic though but what do I know.

      • Alceste Delacour

It’s a fantasy car from Gran Turismo. xD
        Red Bull Racing concept.

      • Jeff Nagata

        Oh, ok. Thanks

      • Alceste Delacour

I bet Adrian Newey had fun designing these.

      • Jeff Nagata

I don’t know what features your referring to, but the tracks are challenging.

      • pez2k

To be fair, racing teams’ simulators often use the gMotor component with their own specialised physics code. rFactor Pro is less of a full commercial product and more a series of modules to build a professional simulator around.

When it comes to the complete-package games that are sold to the public, rF2 is quite definitely more complex than rF1, the tyre model alone is a big step ahead. It’s not simply ‘the same engine but modded’, it’s genuinely the next generation, just like F1C to rF1.

      • Jeff Nagata

So, why can’t a modded Rf1 engine with different calculations be as good as Rf2? And, how is it next generation when the graphics and engine are 11 years old.

      • pez2k

It certainly could be, however I’m unaware of any developer who is currently using the rF1 graphics engine with a heavily rewritten physics engine in a commercial product.

As for the age of the engine, rF2 is the first product on isiMotor2.5. I would be surprised if any piece of code is identical to isiMotor1 builds from 11 years ago, in the same way that Rage and Portal 2 share nothing with Doom despite technically being on evolutions of the same engine.

      • Jeff Nagata

I think you are correct because ISI will not allow changes to their base code. Also, since your using that analogy on game engines, wouldn’t that mean that Doom if coded differently could run and look like those other games?

      • pez2k

I believe that there certainly have been changes to ISI’s engine by licensees, GTR2 and Race have some differences in the physics and I believe Simbin and Blimey had full source access to pMotor2 – NFS Shift was based on the GTR2 physics engine at a very low level.

As for Doom, when you say ‘coded differently’ you’d have to mean ‘remade on the newer engine’. You’d need new and higher-quality art assets and not a scrap of the game would be carried over.

      • Jeff Nagata

Oh, see how much I know. I meant code adjustments can change the entire look and feel of the game.

      • o0THX11380o

        rfPro…. is rf2…

      • wajdi nujeidat

I have raced GTR2 for at least 5 years and sorry, GTR2 has nothing to do with rfactor2! Yea, GTR2 uses the old ISI Gmotor, but isimotor2.5 is a big evolution and a great step over GTR2 engine(tire model, FFB…..)! For me the Honda Civic that you have tried in the Demo is one of the best Sim cars that I have ever used! You should try the Clio Trophy or the new Kart mod and why not the URD GT mod!

      • Alceste Delacour

Do you find the karts overly sensitive or are they supposed to be like that?

      • wajdi nujeidat

I have tried the Karts 3-4 times in my life and I can tell you that ISI has done a great work in term of driving feeling with this new mod!

      • Alceste Delacour

Cool. I might have to play with the steering angle, though.

  • sobaphen

Would love to try this track, but never loads for some reason.

    • D3

What happens when the track is loading? Does it crash, or just seem to stop?

The first load time will be very long, according to Pleclair. On the first load it can take up to a couple of minutes where it seems like progress is frozen. It has to build the shader cache for the track on the first load. After that, it should be a lot more snappy.

      • sobaphen

It is loading as normal then when it’s nearly complete it stops.
I will give it another try later. Cheers!

Eventually loaded but the frame rate was all over the place. Turned down settings but constant freezing and unplayable, a real shame. Oh well.

  • Chris Wright

Looking good, exceptional even. I love the amount of attention paid to the crowd art, very atmospheric. Probably a good idea to go and do something else for an hour while the AI rubbers in the track on your first run :-)

    • LukasArnaz

Press Ctrl-X to speed up time while in practice, and AI will rubber it much faster ;)

      • At Them Ben Arthur

        Good tip, nice one!

      • At Them Ben Arthur

        Good tip, nice one!

      • Chris Wright

        Now how “sim” is that…

        Just kidding, good point :-)

    • John Lunsmann

What fun is that? Just rubber it in yourself, so much more fun to be had that way.

  • Chaco

Great track and thank you very much for it. Really makes good use of rf2.

  • Leny

    Congratulation, well track mates!

  • RichardHessels

All those cheap complainers at Pleclairs first versions of “The Nord” are not allowed to drive this. The rest will have great fun here.
    3 thumbs up for Pleclair!

Can drive this circuit in this sim all my life.

  • Manuel Riger

    Hello,

I don t want to blame ur work for rfactor 2. And i have much respekt. But the com8 nordschliefe is complete rong. If u play the simbin version u can understand how much rong it is. Nearly every corner is not correct. Is it not possible to take the simbin version as template ?

    • Alexandre Martini

agreed, the simbin version is much closer to the real track… but thumbs up for bringing this to rf2! thanks a lot for your hard work Pleclair!

    • pez2k

It’s not legal to rip Simbin’s work and put it into a competing title, hence why Com8’s mesh is being used as a basis instead.

      • o0THX11380o

that is true, but taking com8’s road mesh, and pushing and pulling it over the top of simbins mesh (using it as a guide) is completely legal.

      • Manuel Riger

i said use it as template not convert it….

  • José Borges

    Hi everyone!

The link isn’t working, at least for me!

  • Lasse Jakobi Ougaard

The Mega download is not working for me either. Can’t find any mirrors…

    • Hany Alsabti

      Same here

    • Toni

I uploaded it on uptobox while they fix the link (some advertising but dl is fast)

      • Emiliano Sucarrat

        Thanks!!!!

      • Emiliano Sucarrat

        Thanks!!

  • wajdi nujeidat

    same here!

  • Ricoo

    This looks great. Nice work.

  • PAKFA

I tried the rFactor 2 demo with this Norschleife mod, but It’s not working. Bummer… :/
I guess it only works with the full version…

    • Andrea Candini

That’s pretty normal, otherwise what would be the point of purchasing the full version?

      • PAKFA

The demo has 1 car and 1 track with 2 variations. If I get an un-official track mod and play on that is not really a full version is it?
        I will still have only 1 car…
The only reason I would buy rFactor 2 is to play Nordschleife until it comes to Assetto Corsa. I won’t buy it unless I try that track 1st. So far just watching videos of it didn’t convince me.

      • JES

You can’t seriously expect a random modded track to work in a demo version. The demo is all about giving a first impression on which basis you decide whether you buy or not. Btw, you can buy the full game, request refund within 7 days and get all your money back.

  • http://www.autosim.ru/ Max Pautov

Oh man, very thank you for this work

  • pastor_tedhaggard

i just reinstalled the latest build of rf2, lite. I install the civic car and silverstone. It all works fine in single player. I go to multiplayer to join the ISI server. It won’t let me join. The button on the left is greyed out, doesn’t even come up with Get Mod or anything.

So i cant join. I simply dont understand why. Everything is installed properly in the mod manager. This is why i deleted in rf2 in the first place – i could not be bothered with all this messing about. Does anyone have a reason as to why i cant connect?

series installed: no. Mod not found. Server and client versions do not match.
EDIT: does not matter. i had to update it again. should just do it by itself when you start the game, or detect and put a message up, but whatever. sorted.

    • Jos

maybe refresh browser then it wont be greyed out.

  • Saloster

With this track and that monster Lola, I’m in sim heaven. They were insane in back 70′ who drove Vechile like that, in track like that. It is like my 250cc motocross bike times 10. im really impressed. Been driving sims since FOGP in early 90′. That was best that i know so far, in racing sims. Thanks so much for the track and Car. I just waisted 4h in there and didnt notice reality at all.

  • wajdi nujeidat

And what does this have to do with rf2?!

  • melanieuk1

Probably the only next gen sim not on steam?
And that Nürburgring Nordschleife track does look good.

  • Petros Dialektakis

How about commenting on rF2 and this great piece of work, you Mr. Wise Guy? Have you already forgotten that you were bitching on GM about being off topic?

BTW @pleclair: downloaded and played it: great work! I also love the trackside objects…

  • F1Racer

How many times are you going to post that link man ?

  • F1Racer

Petros, we can do without that sort of reply. It just makes the situation worse !
