rFactor 2 – More New Content Previews

Image Space Incorporated has released some more previews of new content items that are due to be added to their rFactor 2 simulation in due time.

The new previews show off the Corvette C6.R GT2 car at Lime Rock alongside the Nissan 370Z and Nissan GT-R racing cars.

first screen looks good, but why is every single rf2 screenshot is done in dawn/dusk lighting? Is it because full daylight looks like a washed out pastel mess?

Boxy models, odd super high gloss hotrod paint jobs, weird reflections… ISI should really consider outsourcing to the community – least graphically- because this really isn’t doing justice to what the graphics very well could be. Or they need to learn how to max out their graphics when they take screenies.

    Flamewar below.

Well I would say that they should be outsourcing to use some real professionals than using community people although there are few fine artists there also..

I think you have some point there. dawn/dusk shots gives some nice atmosphere there so that might be the reason to use that kinda lightning..

Most professionals artist in simracing came from the community.

No flaming from me. I love the feel of racing some of the cars so in that respect I’m well happy with rFactor2.
When people like those from InsideRacing start voicing concerns about the shortcomings and lack of progress with the sim though , surely its time that ISI sat up and took notice.

Yeah this is true and some are more talented than others. And surely some developers demand more than others (in quality).

Ya I don’t care for 100% accuracy or ridiculous detail but that car model looks pretty bad, mostly the front fender I think, it looks strange.

specially knowing who pays InsideRacing’s bills

It’s all about budgets, the bigger the budget the more work can be done.

Every screenshot these days seams to have a BMW logo in the background. Is this some sort of sublemital message or something?

  • Anonymous

Same reason why a lot of the recent iRacing tracks have been released with the late afternoon/dusk lighting. It’s pretty :)

Considering that once again ISI’s content will probably be left in the dust by the first couple of community mods… not really an issue. No need to get random 3rd parties involved, hand it over to the people who will be there long term supporting their game.

Pretty sure they already did this with the BMW F1 cars in rF1. I know CTDP did the F1.07… and go figure, it’s the best of the “official” content.
