rFactor 2 – Install Guide & New Video

With the rFactor open beta being available any day now, Image Space Incorporated is preparing their users for the big day.

The studio has released a detailed installation guide that covers everything from the installation to license purchase and the usage of rFactor 2′s launcher.

To make all the text go down a little easier, below is a new video as AutoSimSport’s Jon Denton takes us around the historical Monaco Grand Prix Circuit.

For more on the open beta, the included content can be found here, pricing info is here and first content packs are available for download here.

I’ve been calm, patient, and chilled about this whole rF2 thing. It’ll come when it comes and I’ll either find it as satisfying to drive as iRacing, or I won’t. Life will go on either way…. though one will probably be cheaper than the other. :-)

But now I feel like I’m in a sim racing porn movie, being fluffed.

Enough fluffing. Let me climb in the cockpit. :-)

    • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

This has been elevated to the rank of sim racer torture, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t want to look at that video again, I don’t want to look at that video again, I don’t WANT TO LOOK at that video again. Pleeeease. Arggg, too late.

    Heigh ho, let’s go!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jcruze88 Justin ForzaBarça Cruze

R2P have rf2 races scheduled on the 12th…….itsa comin’.

    • http://twitter.com/CPuffie Constantine Puffie

For an auspicious day, it would be good to release it on the 12th… it would make the day in the calendar looks like this – 12/01/12… awesome isn’t it?

But for something way more auspicious, it would be cool to release it on the 12th, only in the month of December, to make it looking like this – 12/12/12… anyhow, this will only allow us some +/- 9 days of fun with rF2 before the mythical Mayan’s end of the world on the 21st of December.

LMAO, jokes aside, let’s just make the release on the 12th of January 2012, this would be auspicious enough :D

      • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Shhhhht, damn, don’t give them ideas like that ! ;)

      • Anonymous

The Mayans ran out of hemp paper, hence why the calender ended on date it did :)
The awakening as already started, and its not just the middle east.

      • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

The awakening just hasn’t reached VirtualR, it seems :D

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JLOBN23JCVA2NMXYCVQLVCYOCY David

        It’s almost December already?

  • http://twitter.com/CPuffie Constantine Puffie

One question, how much does the ‘Online license for a lifetime’ cost?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

Gjon is waiting til the last moment to feel sure of that…

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3FR5OD7UTKHKZCKGODAGFGP6RM D.A.

Hope not more than 2-3 yearly payments. rF2 wont be THE racing sim as long as rF1 (5years?). There are already 1-3 strong competitors out there and some more will show up. More than ++25-30$ wouldnt be a good offer and will more likely migrate customers to other sims (ok not to iracing).

      • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Yehaaa, we got ourselves another one with a crystal ball, guys !

They never get tired of seeing our future… Thing is, they NEVER got it right :D

    adios iRacing :)

This video makes my pants feel smaller for some strange reason. Weird huh?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

Just a quick note: We didn’t release the installation guide, it was found (and wasn’t hidden). :) But we’re OK with it and won’t remove it.

    • David Valije

It sounds like we will have to wait a bit more than most people expect :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/paul.mullins Paul Mullins

What ever the date of release, please don’t make it a week day or I will be forced to take a sickie :)

    • Andrew McP

Weekdays make sense because it reduces the download/purchase stress which often cripples new online releases. A release early in the week probably also means fewer people have to do a 7 day working week with the early support… though I guess with this kind of project that;s kind of inevitable.

What interests me most at the moment though is that Tim should be in bed sleeping, not posting. :-)

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

Long night. Had to finish what I started or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep thinking about it. lol Heading off now, almost 3am. Yuck!

      • Andrew McP

You’re a glutton for punishment Tim…. as your employment history shows. :-)

  • Charlie P

12th would be a really cool day to release on cause that’s my birthday.  I’m getting a TH8RS :) as the G25 Shifter only gets 3rd and 4th now :(
How cool to have the new shifter AND RF2 on the same day. Unfortunately though gotta work.

  • Olivier Prenten

    5…4…3…2…1…LET’S START YOUR ENGINE! ;)

Nice, as this IS only the beta, i’ll wait the  ‘six month’ for the beta to complete, before this goes ‘Gold’, then  upgrade my pc for this, and other future sims, no rush here.

i’ll stay in bed with the covers over my head all day, please let me know when it’s all over..AHHHH THE HORROR.!!!

  • Anonymous

like I said before, RF2 looks stunning with post-fx effects Excelent shadows and lightning. Why ISI released those dull marketing “HD” images last month i’ll never understand.

    Beautiful game!

    • badracer

I think it looks stunning because it is recorded from monitor with external camera. If it would be directly recorded with FRAPS, it would look alot different.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joe-Pineapples/100001965191185 Joe Pineapples

That looks sweet.  Any news on a demo version?.

    • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Yep, there won’t be one. They’re talking about the beta, if you had took the time to read the article…

      No demo version.

Pay $43.99 + $12.99 per year for a fucking beta version (for only three cars and three tracks after 4 years of development).
I don’t like new ISI policy.

      ISI takes us for idiots
I prefer wait a real simulator like Asseto corsa or GTR3.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=24413882 Stuart Becktell

This is a beta, you aren’t being charged the yearly rate now, and I believe paying for the full version gives you access to teh beta. Just don’t pay if you don’t like it.

      • Anonymous

And show me somebody with a pc and internet connection who can’t sacrifice ONE point one dollar a month.. people THROW away hundreds of dollars on ultra cool smartphones they only use for facebook in the end but can’t stand paying for software..

      • Klaus Kåg

Don’t you read before you post? It’s $43,99 incl. one year of subsription. And as said elsewhere, don’t buy it before it comes out if you’re not happy with the package!

      • http://twitter.com/jonneymendoza jono

There is also a refund system in place as well

      • Anonymous

Speak for yourself, and yes there might me a demo, just like rfactor it’ll be time based.

Off topic: Has  SimBin said that GTR3 will be moddable, if they have i would like to know, where it was reported that it would be.

      • badracer

Was Race07 moddable? Not from the beginning. But it happened with the community. So it doesn´t matter if a game is moddable or not.

      • Anonymous

Hum, what makes you thinks that GTR3 or Asseto Corsa will be free?

Things are changing my friend. Take it easy, and you know, you will try it for free eventually!

        Cheers

      • http://www.competauto.com/ Theroro29

You don’t understand what i say.
        I always pay for games.

Iracing team develop a full game itself and you pay a monthly subscription: there is no problem for me.
But for Rfactor, almost all of the work will be done by people who use their spare time and work for nothing… and they have to pay an annual subscription!! it’s crazy!!

      • Olivier Prenten

So you think ISI is waiting for the community to finish their game? LOL! You’re the king of the troll!

      • http://www.facebook.com/benjamin.mikhaiel Benjamin Mikhaiel

Well the only reason rfactor 1 has survived this long is due to the modding community..

So they are capitalising on the extended life of there product due to other peoples work..  It makes me as a modder a little irratated, but I just see it as the price for actually having a Decent platform to develop on…
Although hopefully the subscription will motivate ISI themselves to keep developing into the future, but if their develop stops as soon as the game is released it will seem to be a bit of a kick in the balls of modders.

      • Anonymous

There WILL be a demo once the actual product is released, which is probably at least 6 months away. Right now, it is just the BETA that is coming out. This beta period is intended for the modders to get in, create mods, and give feedback on the modding system, etc. But, they were kind enough to make it an OPEN beta to anyone, giving those who want it early access to rF2.

If you want to try a demo first, wait until the actual product is finished and released.

      • http://twitter.com/__Banga__ * LeazesNDR *

“I can’t understand annual subscription for Rfactor.
I can understand for Iracing but not for Rfactor.
        ISI takes us for idiots
I prefer wait a real simulator like Asseto corsa or GTR3.”

There seems to be a lot of things you dont understand after reading your moaning drivel.

Dont wanna play rFactor 2 then fine, See ya, dont let the door hit your arse on the way out!

rFactor 2 looks really good but I don’t understand why people record such a video with a cam instead of using something like FRAPS.

Yes, when is the big question. I just want to race the car and track as shown in this video. I would pay for that!

      • Anonymous

You will Have to pay for that. The beta is prerelease in this case

  • Eric Zehnder

Despite the camcorder quality video, it seems like the graphics quality has improved over the official first videos. Those didn’t really look any better than rFactor 1. I would assume we’ll get some really good videos from people using kick @$$ gaming setups.

I tried to get into rFactor several times and the modding scene was just too difficult to get into it. Looks like they’ve really addressed that and more!

ISI have poor marketing. They should be showing full high quality in game screenshots with all the eye candy on like that video. Anyone would think that the screenshots are not from rf2 when comparing it to these monaco game videos

    • Anonymous

ISI tend to do all their talking on the track :)

Besides, give it a day after release and all the Fraps captured videos from users will start appearing on YouTube.

      • Anonymous

Also, look back now on rF1 and compare how rFactor is now with the great mods we have and think about how the stock content would look in screenshots and videos compared to now.

Even with the best of screenies and videos, it can still only get better.

      • http://twitter.com/jonneymendoza jono

True mate but can it look as good as p.c.a.r.s When its fully modded? Also i am yet to see how the in car damage looks like if any?

    People need to calm down.

  • Anonymous

I think ISI board forum will be out until release, so go post somewhere else.

Also thinks release will be tomorrow, ISI already put the champagne at the fridge, so they can make a party on 12th with major stress.

The forum is closed to force people to calm down because no amount of asking them to seems to have worked.

      • mmracinggpl

I can see why you want to do that, but I think it’s important to realize that this may get people even more worked up instead of less. (Un)fortunately it’s human nature, it is what it is.

        Seems so.

        What mmracinggpl said.
People won’t calm down as long as they’re not 100% sure that the beta won’t be released today…
Usually I’m a very relaxed person, but I find myself checking the forum every 15 minutes or so as well. The anticipation never has been higher I guess, and noone wants to miss the second where they will finally get a first glimpse of a working rFactor 2 software on their very own system. :)

Not promising. Tim did that because they are moving the forum to another server and because people are getting angry with this situation of the beta release.

Many people think that ISI annouced to soon that they were released the Beta and now are getting tired of waiting.

I believe it will come only tomorrow or wednesday.

It doesn’t? People have worked themselves into a frenzy, I’ve posted the words “calm down” a large number of times and people have not altered their frame of mind in the slightest. I don’t think it’s even possible to scale what it says as not customer friendly… Perhaps it’s your perception of it rather than what it actually says?

It’s not like it says “go away”.

.. and rightly so in your case, you manchild you! :-).

  • http://www.facebook.com/kris.baxter2 Kris Baxter

When did these boards become populated by 5 year olds with no patience? Come on people, get a life, it’ll happen when its ready, go play something else in the mean time.

And to the haters, if you don’t want it, don’t buy it. I don’t want Iracing, so I don’t have it, I don’t go over there slagging it off. Will the beta idea work? maybe, but thats ISI prerogative, not yours or mine, will the resultant game be a success, undoubtedly, No 1 was, why won’t number 2, the concept is the same with some improvements. Given I only paid about £20 for Rfactor 1, it was the best value game I’ve ever had, so I’ve not seen anything yet to make me things rFactor2 will fail.

And I stand by the 5 year old statement, not as an analogy, as the information has been posted, but clearly many people can’t read.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1711429307 Chris Wright

Some extreme reactions on here from all sides, I think. Patience is certainly necessary, but ISI has been building this beta up since before Christmas and really cannot complain if people are getting a little over excited as to when this thing will be released. Isn’t that the whole idea with making announcements and leaking out videos and such?
What seems to have gotten people really excited is the fact that, apart from anything else, rFactor2 represents a wonderful return to the era that Grand Prix Legends explored so richly some 13 years or so ago.
ISI naturally saw this as a great opportunity to differentiate their latest release and clearly the demand is there – in spadefuls.
It appears to be so near we can all smell it – is that correct Tim?

I think that’s all anyone is asking about – a firm date!

    • David Valije

      I can understand them.

If they set a release date and then missed it, most people will whine a lot and will start pestering around in the forums/blogs.

People nowadays just like to complain about almost everything. If they wait to make a finished product, complains about how much they have to wait. If they do things fast just to please the crowds, they will get complains about bugs (even if we are talking about a beta wich, by definition will have lots of them).

Calm down, guys… And if you dont like the thing nobody force you to buy it.

PD: I am not affiliated with ISI in any way, but as someone who offers tech support to people everyday I am sad to see how people reacts lately. Maybe it will better “the old way”: You get the game when it hit the shelves and that’s it.

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

These people that are now complaining about the game not being released yet will be the same people telling us how crap the game is even though its still in beta stages instead of being helpful and constructive.

      • Anonymous

Agreed.  The worst thing ISI can do is set a firm date.  Knowing how reactive this community it is to stuff like that, they would only be setting themselves up for a more whining and cries of how bad their reputation is etc.
It’ll be ready when they finish up what they need to do to have it ready.  Who here really wants a rush job ?   That will only meany people get to moan about bugs.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1711429307 Chris Wright

Setting a firm date is a two option process. You either announce the date on which you honestly expect it to be available or, more wisely, you give a very pessimistic time frame and then everyone is thrilled when it’s inexplicably released way ahead of that time. Customer delight always beats customer frustration, which is what we have here, because ISI has tended to be over optimistic.

    • http://twitter.com/SMelhuish Simon Melhuish

and how long did it take GT5 to come out after announcements etc? 5 years or something so i think a few more days, weeks, months whatever isnt too bad….

It is correct. Sorry if I did overreact today. HORRIBLE day monitoring the forum server. I do like to interact and give you guys info, but you obviously get me on both sides of my insanity spectrum. Today wasn’t a good one. Still, should feel a lot better ‘soon’ when replying.

I can see both sides on every issue. Sometimes I take the fact that I might have already had to explain something to the same guy 10 times elsewhere, then come here and be ‘sharp’ with someone saying the same thing. Never anything personal, and text is an awful method of communication anyway, I’m nicer than my text. ;)

I’m a bit slow but its just dawned on me that ISI has’nt thought about people like me who don’t have a cred / debit card. How am I or somebody else supposed to pre order the game if we have no way of possibly buying the game online. The only way I buy my games is through a retail store.

    • http://twitter.com/Addy_711 Adam M

Why don’t you just make a paypal account and use funds from checking or savings?

      • http://twitter.com/TrippTeam TRIPP

what happend with use normal creditcard as we did when buy rfactor 1 from trymedia ?

      • http://www.facebook.com/kris.baxter2 Kris Baxter

normal credit card fine, but avoid trimedia, the activation system with them was not always the best.

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

I have a paypal account but because I don’t have a credit card to prove my Identity I cant transfer funds to the account.

      • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

It works on my account and I have no credit card, but I had to check with my local Paypal regulations.
Maybe you could give a phone call to the irish Paypal company and find a solution with them ?

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

The Irish paypal regulations are different. I’ve tried a few times to transfer money from my bank account to my Paypal account and it wouldn’t leave me do it because I needed a credit card to prove my Identity.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

There may be more options for the non-beta release.

You should be able to find a gift card of some sort which would work.

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

If there was such gift cards I would’nt be so worried but here in Ireland we are extremely slow to pick up on modern things. 90% of the time when I wand new computer hardware I have to order it from the UK. Still that attitude towards people like me who cant Pre Order rFactor 2 is very unfair. I have a Pre Paid Visa Debit card that I can no longer put money on because no local shop support it anymore. Although later this year the bank I am with is supposed to change from Laser card to Visa Debit card.

I know I’ve complained about having to pay for an open beta (which in my opinion is more of a closed beta) but after seeing all the screenshots and videos my mind has been changed over to the dark side.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

I know it’s not the same place, but I saw them in Belfast back in 2001 when I lived there. I’ve seen them in Dublin when passing through, too. Try the post office, maybe?

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

I live far away from both of those places. Believe me if I could get one I would pre order rFactor 2.

    • http://www.facebook.com/fabio.pittol Fabio Pittol

Game pre orders usually works like that. In fact pre orders of almost everything works like that.

TIP: Find a friend or relative who does have a credit card, give’em the money and ask
‘em to buy it for you!

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

Tip not all game pre orders are like that. I pre ordered GT5 , Forza 3 and Forza 4 through a retail store (Gamestop)

    • Anonymous

You can buy prepaid cards with a certain amount credited on them.   Just get one with enough dough on it to pay for rF and a lot of beer.

      • http://www.facebook.com/steve30x Steve Farrell

I love it when some people assume that because where they live that they have certain things so every other country in the world has them. Just so you know Sounomi here in Ireland you cant buy those prepaid cards.

  • Franz Brink

I too have a problem. My cat has pissed on my T500RS GT rim, so I can only use the F1 rim. How will I be able to drive all the RF2 mods that require a GT steering wheel?

    Frans Brink

    • Anonymous

I assume this stuff also works great on pedals, shifters, keyboards, cockpits etc.

Buy a house trained cat then :-)

    • rui silva

Dude its easy, get a box and some sand put the sand in the box show the box to the cat and prob. solved , easy

  • Arie Beuker, de

Am i the only one here? But it seems that the left corner after the uphill part seems to be later. It looks like nowadays they use that “earlier” left turn.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Desmolad Clive Lomax

I thought that too, looks like there is an extra kink in the road that I dont remember from playing other later versions of Monaco, I put it down to just having bad memory, ill go youtube it and see.

  • Anonymous

    yawn !

  • Anonymous

I’m as excited as everybody else is for the rF2 beta, but I don’t understand the egotistical nature of some people on here, and the swearing definitely needs to be moderated.

The only reasoning I can gather is that these people are emotionally broken, and always have been. The type of person who was spoilt as a child, or feel the need to be vindicated of their popularity by uploading the first videos of rF2 onto youtube.

I don’t study psychology, but it feels like I would need too if I was in Tim’s position.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VDME4UATCOJUR6QTU2PPN5QY2Q Michael

Playing the devil’s advocate alittle bit, but you can get the whiners to shut up by just releasing  the BETA!  lol :) But seriously, it will be released……very soon I assume, so just calm down people.

    • http://twitter.com/Loose89 Louis Wedding

And if there’s any bugs the “whiners” will be the first to bitch and moan about them

  • Fodor Zoltán

I am really looking forward to rFactor 2 as one of the great sims to be released in 2012. There in only one thing bothering me: Why is the driver constantly steering, even if he’s driving in a straight line? I noticed it in an earlier gameplay video also. I wonder if it is a steering setup, or a physics issue. I searched for real F1 videos from this time, and none of those drivers were shaking the wheel in a straight line.

  • Ricoo

Yesss, here we are already tomorrow for you ISI. Please release it today. ;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001061294656 Rhys Gardiner

You know, I love my sim racing and I am eternally grateful to the companies that create these games for us to play when no-one else will.

But sometimes I am incredibly embarrassed to be part of a community that is populated by so many impatient whiners.

Tim Wheatley and ISI have my respect for taking all the crap being thrown at them.

    • Ricoo

Don’t you think you are bit too serious and pessimistic? This is about gaming after all, and for having fun, smile, life is beautiful… rFactor 2 will be out soon. :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001061294656 Rhys Gardiner

Serious and pessimistic? I’m not sure where you picked that up. I’m usually a happy, positive person… that was just one of my lapses when I get extremely annoyed.

But you are right on that last point, there’s no reason to frown… 2012 is going to be a good year. :)

      • Juhan Voolaid

You talk like ISI is doing charaty work – no, it is profitable business + they do what they love.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001061294656 Rhys Gardiner

Again, that wasn’t my intention. I’m not trying to make ISI seem like martyrs or anything, they are a business as you say. I’m just sick of all the negativity and immaturity surrounding the release of this beta, and it would seem I’m not alone in thinking that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tiago-Guerreiro/1426133677 Tiago Guerreiro

The true is, this kind of approach simply dont work, is it dificult to answer if the beta comes out today?? A yes or no is enough but even this 2 words wheren´t there when needed, maybe the true is enough to calm down people, Tim dont forget you have rfactor2 instaled in your end and is easy to say to us “calm down”. We still waitting for the release but now thinks are more agited and tomorow will be even worst and so on……..

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=626905826 Timothy Wheatley

You’re correct, of course. Lesson learned, communication with the community doesn’t work in software development, so I’ll stop. Answering “yes, it is that difficult” would be what I’d like to say, but I’ve said that enough times now. :)

      • rui silva

hi Tim, thx for taking the time to answer some of our “stupid” questions,  about this release date thing do it like Blizzard does ” its done when its done” ppl whine about it but they still get theyr products ^^, its quite refreshing to see a software house these days that take the care to have a good product at launch (even if it is just a beta …), Godspeed…

    • http://twitter.com/spamsac spamsac

But you have to think logically about it. They are a company who want to ship their product and get a return no it. They also have to wait to ship when it is going to (largely) work, is going to be able to be properly supported from their end, have all the servers and what not in place.

Say they intend to ship on a certain date; if they say this and then something goes wrong, they get it in the neck. If they release it knowing full well there is a major bug in it, they will get panned for it.

Yes it is a beta, and as such there will inevitably be issues with it, but you only have to look at the feverish atmosphere and comments floating around the place that people won’t be calm and rational about such things. But if they don’t put it out now, warts and all, then they get “It’s only a beta, just give it to us”, if they did they would get “How can you put this out? It doesn’t work!”.

So they give a date and miss it: they’re in the wrong. They give a date and stick to it, but things don’t go smoothly: they get it in the neck.

They don’t give a date but do it as quickly as possible, which is what they are doing… Oh look, they get a cyber kick in from impatient people.

Seriously, people need to calm down a bit and be a bit more realistic. It seems some people think ISI are sat behind a big button labelled “Beta Release” and are just enjoying winding people up whilst they wait to decide when to push it. It’s a big thing putting something like this out, and it depends on a lot of factors coming together.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jcruze88 Justin ForzaBarça Cruze

Reading these comments I can see why theres 32234 first corner incidents in every race…..

    • rui silva

hehehehehehehehe so true man so true …

    • http://www.facebook.com/chrisblondel Christophe Blondel

      Excellent!! ahah :) so true!!

  • Anonymous

    woohoo!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/Desmolad Clive Lomax

No, its correct of course.. maybe because the cars are slower than modern F1 cars the hill seems longer than I am used to.

  • http://www.facebook.com/thechrisenglish Chris English

I’m perfectly happy to wait for as long as it takes. People whining won’t make it appear any quicker.

It’ll arrive when it arrives. No exact date has ever been given, so stop expecting it to be out on any given date and being disappointed when it isn’t.

I can’t actually believe people are taking this so seriously… Are you lives really THAT dull?

  • Anonymous

I used to say this about another sim, but ‘I still wait it’ :)

  • Luke Maple

lookin forward to this but I’ve got patience and a life so take your time boys!

I really want this game to come out!REALLY!But I dont like whining and stuff like that in order to get it released sooner! The longer it takes to be released the better the game will be.AND with less bugs/problems.We have all exprerienced games that have been released and they were unfinished.I dont want to be scummed by ISI,and ISI doesnt want to scum us,so they delay the release not to relax, but to hard-work on it.

Sim racers are mature people, not kids.So please guys.Think about it.Some comments are just too immature for a site like this.We are not talking about the Need for Speed series, but for rFactor2!

    Hail ISI,and the modding community!

Come on rob, you’re lagging behind, Bsim has already posted on it’s site about the rFactor 2 manual http://www.bsimracing.com/2012/01/rfactor-2-manuals-released/
And more screenshots & preview from simHQ http://www.bsimracing.com/2012/01/rfactor-simhq-preview-rfactor-2-beta/

      Thanks for link.

Wow – looks the business.    Clearly the game itself is just a part of the package.  Look at all the work in all the parts and the integration?  Very nice. Hardly surprising it warrants a BETA season to test it in the wild.

Sound channels increased to 32.     Proper surround sound.      All marshalls waving flags on wind-down lap too.  Improved AI.  Lots of weather controls.  Great.    Love the “AUDIO” add-on placeholders.  Whets my appetite.   :D

New replay system – no details.  (Boo!)

Missing? – a proper way to follow hotlaps, within and across series.- any control for adjusting shadow draw distance. (boo!   maybe something in PLR file?  Or cam file?)
