rFactor 2 – Car Model Renders

Image Space Incorporated have released a big bunch of renders, showing us the car models of their upcoming rFactor 2 simulation title.

For the first time, the renders allow an overview of the broad content the title will include as players get to race in very different vehicles from modern sports cars, touring cars & open wheelers to historical racing machinery and karts.

rFactor 2 will introduce various improvements to the modding-friendly simulation including weather, driver animations and a refined graphics engine alongside plenty of current and historic motor racing content. ISI recently set the release-date status of rFactor 2 to “TBA 2011″.

  • Sam

Extremely satisfying lineup. I believe they’re announcing a month for release next week or so as well, so plenty to be excited about.

looks very nice, should be a good lineup until the modder get into rf2

  • Ricoo

Lots of fun in sight. :)

  • Jos

    wow, great car line-up!

  • Andrew McP

That’s already more cars than I can learn in one lifetime. Someone tell the modders to stop working on cars and just do tracks, ok?

    ;)

  • Joca Nadalist

    Amazing :)

    Can’t wait really

  • stabiz

Thats more than I expected! Very nice indeed. (But are the wheels of the Corvette supposed to be that far inside the body?)

    Amazing cars

  • Hompe

    Nope

  • Hompe

Probably not, but on the other hand it might not be a corvette, it could be a kodi gt1 or whatever

  • SergeantBoner

Even though Im completely blown away with the amount of different cars, some questions came a across me…

The Lola for example, Ive never seen anyone with those type of air-intakes on the side, do they have the lincense from Lola cars? And where is the F3-car? Strange to take away what practically saved rF1. And why does the Nissan GT-R and Corvette look so bulky? They need to fix the track on those cars, especially on the Corvette.

  • kkacper

“Formula ISI (inspired on the Sauber?)  ”
    Nope, I don’t see a current F1 car. The one you take as F1 I think is the GP2 2011 car :)

  • kkacper

I think this is going to be the exact same checklist I’ll go through when I get it! :)

  • RJC_pt

    Nice!!

  • marb

    No one said it’s current-like F1 car.

  • Ivan Akamatsu

    PPPPPPPPooooooooorraaaaaaaaa bixoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mavecão 8 caneco!!!!!!!!!

Com um desses não preciso de mais nada!!!!

    Parabens ISI!!!!!!

  • Ivan Akamatsu

“Ford Maverik (the brazilians will be happy :P)”

    I just can’t believe it!!!!!!!!!!

Never in history such a thing happened!

  • Ivan Akamatsu

Besides, Lola T70 family represents the core of history in the classics Mil Milhas editions in Brazil!

  • gpfan

It´s getting close guys!!!!! Very nice!!!!!

  • Carbonfibre

Any car, any track, I’ll take you all on in the kart. :-D

Renders made me think about the upgrade system actually.
Seems that some models have their upgraded counterparts being shown alongside them, others, obviously have had the full works, but their stock versions but aren’t represented in the line up? It’s confusing.
They are all race-spec’ed machines, but I guess that’s what the majority wants. Production cars never seem to get the sim love they deserve.

  • Mike Oppenheimer

The nosebadge isn’t a Lola badge, so i’d imaginethey arent licensed, hence the slight variation.

  • f12bwth

Not a huge Off-Roading fan but the inclusion of one or two would make my feel better about the rF2 engines capabilities on dirt.

  • Carbonfibre

    Good point, that too. :)

  • Carbonfibre

The CORR Truck and Panoz Roadster are the two that are missing, of which we have already seen WIPs of.
Just my speculation, but I smell patch content, along with the dirt track.

  • Carbonfibre

The CORR Truck and Panoz Roadster are the two that are missing, of which we have already seen WIPs of.
Just my speculation, but I smell DLC, along with the dirt track.

  • Mike Oppenheimer

I believe they also said there would be a 70s Nascar stockcar too.

  • SergeantBoner

Indeed but they also said that many features and cars/tracks wouldnt make it for the initial release, I guess this is the cars we will see on releaseday then they finish what they have left.

  • SergeantBoner

..and come to think of it that Ford Maverick might just be the 70’s stockcar!

  • Lennart

    quote from Facebook:
RFactor2 There is going to be some initial release info coming, hopefully this week I’ll be able to post final testing and maybe an intial release date month…”

  • Jux

One of them is a rally car. Hopefully wrc like race will be available in theinitial release.

  • crob ol

Where you see a Rally car? =-O
The Renault Clio in this case is not the rally specification then the Clio Cup car from the European Championship.

  • melanieuk

Dont take my word on this, but i think they said something along the lines of, dirt vehicles and tracks will not be included in the release, it may come later on, i hope rf2 does support dirt track racing, for rallycross & rally.

  • melanieuk

Quote from the ISI site., about initial release content:

I think I mentioned a while back that not all series might make the initial release–those that don’t make the initial will come online as we get them finished to a state we’re satisfied with. Also, after release we’ll be updating series with new cars and tracks, as well as introducing other new series. So, like rF1, rF2 will be an ever growing product with new content, updates, etc. Long story short, if we don’t have something you want initially, chances are we or someone else will bring it to you at some point.

Edit: Also, there are some cars missing from these renders, too. So, you’re STILL not seeing everything we currently have in store.

Fingers crossed i’m hoping for dirt track racing in the future.

  • gerrymodo

EA douches probably at play their.

  • Lennart

How about some trackmaps which leads us guessing for names (both fictional and real)?

btw: these look awesome, can’t wait!

  • Timothy Wheatley

The NFS series still holds that license I believe.

  • Timothy Wheatley

Wheels on the renders are usually placeholder. Hence the lack of tread on some cars which will have tread.

  • Timothy Wheatley

Just wanted to note that not every car was included in the render. Also we haven’t modelled some we have licensing for. And we’re stil trying to get licensing for some cars.

  • Der_KHAN

this looks very good. I was afraid there wouldn’t be enough content when rF2 is first released. this is way more than i expected. I hope there will also be enough tracks for a little championship.

there are two pics of only open wheelers. does anybody know what car the one in front is? on left is the indycar and i believe an F1 to the right. but what is the one in the middle?

  • Coen Van den Nulft

I think it’s a Formula Renault 3.5 car, there have been some RF2 previews of that car

  • Jorge Araujo

I expect nothing from this game. Nothing really does stand out in any preview. Those cars look nice, tho. But  hardly it’s breaking any ground. With that said, I expect nothing but really hope to be blown away by this game. It was the same with the first rFactor. Didn’t look great for it’s time or broke any new ground, but boy it was an awesome game to play with. Still on my top list of all time, even tho I haven’t touched it in a year or so.

  • f0xx

If you have a wheel (a decent one preferably) and you’re into sim racing games then this one is a must.

    Percebeste? :P

  • GTEvo

im pretty sure that rF2 will be the unbeatable Simracing Benchmark of the World.
The global Modder Knowledges today is over the Top.
That means..in our ModdingCommunitie today, we have so many talented, with that big and much  experience of Modding, we never had before.

rF2 is defently the Simrace-Modding Planet on Earth.
Simbin, iRacing and Co will get so much pressure as never before.

Nobody cant stop the Power of Modding! 8-)

    God bless Isi
    Holger

  • Guy Moulton

Hmmm, TBA 2011.  I’m pretty sure we can narrow that down to second half of 2011??

  • Ross Siggers

Why did you film the screen instead of direct recording it?

  • GTEvo

because its much easier, my PC(6400 DuoCore/3,25GB Ram/1GB 4780HD Graka isnt ideal for VidRendering.
With rF2 Release, i will upgrade that Pc! 8-)

  • Salva Sirignano

This looks like it is going to be fantastic :)
The only thing worrying me about it, as an offline player, is what will the AI be like? It has to be at least as good as in GP4 for me to create any offline replay value.
Every single g motor game from F1C to GTR Evo has had duff AI that don’t use slipstream well (lifting off on straights, pulling out too early etc), or try and outbrake you properly. If they have fixed that then I’ll be a very happy bunny :)

  • Wish Bone

I expect upgraded physics mostly… but really rfactor did break ground as being the first real universal PC racing sim.

I’d say it broke a lot more ground than games with just flashy graphics that you forget about in a couple months.
