Reiza Studios To Develop Ayrton Senna Game

Following Game Stock Car, their successful maiden commercial title, Brazil-based Reiza Studios have announced to be working on a racing game that centers around the career of Ayrton Senna.

Made in co-operation with the Ayrton Senna Institute, the new title will allow PC users to relive the spectacular career of the three-time Formula One World Champion who’s still regarded to be one of the best race drivers who have ever lived.

There are no details on the title’s content yet but aside from his early years in Karting and Formula 3, Senna spent the vast majority of his career in Formula One, spanning from the Turbo era to the high-tech computerized cars in the early 90s.

While Game Stock Car was based on ISI’s trusted gMotor 2 engine, Reiza Studios will be using an all-new engine for the Senna title which is expected to be released at the end of 2012.

Part of the revenue created by the release of the title will be donated to the Ayrton Senna Institute that benefits 2 million Brazilian childen with a quality education every year.

    This is…amazing.

Definitely will buy this one, even though I’m only 16 I know what Senna was to the F1 and I really am disappointed I couldn’t see The Master at his work live :(

I’m very impressed with Rieza. The work that they do is top notch, and they gave us free content for Game Stock Car. I’ll definitely be buying their next product, but I hope they stick to their sim-racing roots.

  • Samuel Korthof

Amazing but people expect something flawless…Can they possible live up to the legend.

  • Alistair Heeley

This is definitive proof – if it was ever required – of how fantastic a job they did and are still doing with Game Stock Car. They’ve obviously impressed the right people in the right places, including current Formula 1 drivers that race their sim when they’re not out doing it for real.

It’ll be very intresting to see where this goes and what it entails. I know that Reiza are primarily a sim developer, but to make a decent amount of money for charity surely they must make a game with optional arcade features, while being sim underneath. Or have I underestimated the sales of Game Stock Car. It would be nice to see sim racing getting more recognition, and here’s hoping for a simulation of the 1983 F3 season with those ground-effect cars. :)

Does that mean the end for GSC? :(

Very interesting project.. I wish them the best of luck and I hope this will be a serious simulation. In the past, racing games with the name of a driver have been.. disappointing.. but I have a good feeling about this because of the talent Reiza is having in their team.
What a great time for sim racing with rFactor 2 around the corner, C.A.R.S., NetKar pro improving, not one but two interesting karting sim, and now a dedicated Senna game made by Reiza.

This has the potential to be something different and amazing because of it…. or just give off that weird vibe.

I’m sure though the Brazilian crowd will love it though! Though, even so the man was a legend and a hero to many, then again, I think that is why I fear that weird vibe this could end up being.

I am looking forward to this. Senna is my Idol. He was the best in F1.

Don’t forget GTR3 that will probably rock a lot.

I stopped breathing for a couple of seconds. Insta-purchase.

Very intresting project, should feature many classic cars.

Being one of the most legendary drivers in car racing.
Next to being a great driver he was also a great person.

Hopefully the game won’t crash at the final stage.

    Sounds great!
On the other hand though, I feel a bit disappointed, because some of the best modders from rFactor will leave the platform to build their own engine, and therefore won’t take part in modding rFactor2. Or am I wrong?

    Sounds freaking unreal!
Although I must say it does sound like a bit of a minefield from a licensing point of view. Regardless I will be keeping my fingers crossed :)

I doubt that they’ll get all the necessary licenses. I meant, that would be more than 10 Season of Formula 1. About 150-200 different cars and about 20-25 circuits in different layouts. Sorry, but that does not sound realistic…

I got my doubts, too, but not licensing relate. Will they do an impresive sim as GSC or Armaroli mod? Or will they try to “open their market” with console releasing and more arcade physics/handling…? Don’t get me wrong, i am not complaining, they got the right to do what they wanna do, but a game with the Senna label can be a very high-sell product and maybe they will aim to a “casual” gamer more than to sims users.

I’m very impressed anyway, i can’t even imagine a new and a game like that (since 8/16 bit era, of course!!).

    Its says in the article:

“ the new title will allow PC users to relive”

Please tell me this is why Neils was looking into karting physics??? Say it is so Neils. lol

Anyway.. Good luck with this project Reiza, pains me to say it but, if you are dealing with FOM in any sort of capacity, you’re going to need it. You could always get Phillipe.M to put Bernie in a headlock. After all those run in’s with Hamilton this season you can see he’s ready to fight anyone lol

They must have something in place because you don’t make these announcements first and then set about acquiring licences.
