Reiza Studios – First Teaser Video

Back in December, a very interesting new software studio was founded as Renato Simioni & Fernando Oliveira Jr opened Reiza Studios, aiming to create new simulation titles.

The studio is already working on its first ever PC racing title and even though no clear facts have been revealed yet, the studio has released a very interesting teaser video below. The video shows a V6 turbo-powered open-wheeler running on what looks like Jerez. Even though the car can only be seen from behind, it looks very much like a 80s Formula One car.

Stay tuned for more info on Reiza’s exciting project…

Based in Londrina (Brazil), Reiza Studios were founded by Renato Simioni & Fernando Oliveira Jr. The studio has acquired some well-known talent from the modding community as Simoni (a former Simbin employee) has been joined by rFactor track guru Alex Sawczuk (The Lonely) & Luc van Camp (SLN) as well as CTDP’s Alex Borro (afborro) and rFactor physics & AI expert Niels Heusinkveld (niels_at_home).

I am exited to see some hard core modders going for a full game release. Keep it up people.

  • martymini

    yes keep it up…but a little suspect:once again gmotor2?!

  • mike84

good luck to them. wonder what they will produce.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/flaux1 Flaux

    @Wix: Remember GTR??? :wink:

    Anyway, it sounds brilliant

  • Uff

I really didn’t expect to see a F1 car there! Considering how much a F1 licence costs, this make me think it will be a free mod. Who knows, I’m curious to find out more! ^^

  • http://www.xtremeracers.info crobol

REIZA Studios will make mods (free or pay) for rF/rF2?
Maybe they will make his own game titles using gMotor2 or gMotor3? Like a new simBin style studio…
Or they will develop a own engine for graphics and physics?

I hope we receive an answer with a concrete project in a few month…they need to work hard. Whatever, the simracing fans can be congratulated with a new studio. More hours of fun…

Gjon Camaj, in the ISR interview of the past year, told about to be near from some mods to guarantee their quality. Maybe is that the way…

I’m not convinced with the iRacing subscription solution, because ISI don’t are mode developers, like Simbin or iRacing, they are Engine developers. But to pay for good quality cars & tracks made by other studios is not a bad idea if the quality is on a good level.

  • Deano

Interesting, looks like a ’82 McLaren with the TAG turbo? Can’t wait to see what develop’s from this.

  • AeroMechanical

That really is pretty much the dream team of rFactor modders.

I damn well hope ISI gives them an engine worthy of their talent.

  • Klaas Jan

Wow, those names are among the best in the business! Looking forward to what they come up with!!

Fittipaldi Automotive that’s what I bet my money on!
Emerson is a pretty nice person and I doubt he would have said no if these guys approached him asking for permission to include his F1 car in their sim.

  • Victor_RO

That looks more likely to be a MP4-3 or -4, actually. :)

It’s not the driver who has a final word on these things: if you want to put a car in a game and sell it with a proper licence, it’s more likely that you have to contact McLaren instead of the driver. ;)

that skin does look more like a Mclaren but I don’t think they licensed their car to Reiza still I’m just guessing nothing more.

Sounds like a turbo engine! :sd:

You guys are forgetting… They don’t need to call it F1 they can call PH-1 or Formula Fast or etc/// and have Ayrton Jenna drive a McLarry.. Licences mean nothing now.. People will then develop real names and skins and then people will use them..

  • theroro29

It will be a great project with a dream team. See you later!!

Finally someone who worked it out :)
Exactly, they can use similar car shapes and use fantasy names and drivers. Crammonds GP1 did that I think. It certainly wasn’t licenced.
Car sounds great and looks good too.
I`ll be keeping an eye on this one despite both my G25s have gone up in smoke (literally) and are on their way back to Logi :(((((

Licenses do mean something or publishers wouldn’t pay for them. If you can call your game Formula 1 then it will sell far better than calling it Formula Fast. Crammond didn’t have a license for the original Grand Prix but he got one for Grand Prix 2, 3 and 4.

  • Bjorn

Well Formula 1 Grand Prix sold quite good, didn’t it? ;)

You right mate. However what F1 is commanding for its price tag does not sit well with a very young and talented team who (speculation) don;t have a lot of money to begin with. In the end the TRUE HARD CORE sim racer will purchase anything that is a close resemblance to the real deal.

  • Paul Kelly

Niels is in this group? That’s almost a GUARANTEE that the physics and tire model of this game will be excellent.

Eager to sample this new firm’s work!

  • AeroMechanical

You don’t really see many historic F1 sims, I wonder if a 1994 F1 license is cheaper than a 2010 license. Or even available.

  • Sensekhmet

Sounds like a turbo engine? Great sounds? I can only hear some horrible, synthetic buzzing. I wonder when will a sim get something resembling decent sounds (I lost my hope for good/modern graphics a while ago).

    Another video to show nothing…

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

Jeez guys, have a bit of optimisim will ya, instead of shooting down in flames everything new that comes along.
Some of you don’t deserve anything. Always have to look for something to criticise in things. Try to look for positives.
New people embarking on a new project to try and bring is something more to our small community.
Heaven knows we need all the help we can get these days what with most new racing games being what people term as arcade.

  • http://www.knackko.com knackko

I am not optimist on videos which shows nothing on the work done on the mods, 53s to show a car during 5s… hopefully, disk space is not expensive.

  • Torino

It´s a teaser, it does what it´s supposed to do – raise people´s attention to something that is coming up.

We get a pretty good idea of what it might be, and given the pedigree involved it´s pretty damn exciting if you ask me :)

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

knackko: I am not optimist on videos which shows nothing on the work done on the mods, 53s to show a car during 5s… hopefully, disk space is not expensive.

Well ok it might not have been the most dynamic and thrilling teaser video ever made but they did it in the style they wanted and it only cost you a minute of your life to watch something that you must be interested in or you wouldn’t have viewed it.
Just don’t think you need to be so judgemental about it.

  • Uff

You don’t have the slighlty idea on how the videogames’ market work, don’t you? Because teaser, previews and similar things have been around for… uhm… 20 years?

  • FS

Well, I also didn’t find anything “teasing” about this video. There was nothing new or exiting to see or hear … unless you find that logo amazingly good, and find joy in looking at it while listening to the (not bad, but also not outstanding) sound of an undefinable formula-car (and it’s not like we are lacking Formula 1 mods at the moment, is there even a season left of the last 20-30 years where there is no mod or WIP?) cruising (not even driving near the limit) around an uninspiring scenery.
Yes, it’s nice to see, that people seem to be able to start making a living out of their hobby, and I sure am happy for them. I hope they will bring something new and exciting to the sim-world … but until they do (or at least reveal what they PLAN to do, is it a mod? is it a game? is it another F1 thing or really something new?) I see no reason to get excited about that video … or treat people as heretics who express this opinion in a more undiplomatic way …

No mate F1 is licensed as a whole anything with “F1″ “Formula 1″ “Fone” are considered property of FOM (Formula One Management, or Bernie Eccilestone) and are subject to fees. The only work around is to use pseudomym such as PH1 or Formula Fast ect.. and then the key is not to use the offical Manufacture names such as Ferrari, McLaren ect.. if you plan to make money selling your product then FOM wants its piece of the pie. And Yes Jeff Crammmonds GranPrix used pseudomym’s….

  • RG

I think I just listened to 54 seconds of rehashed GP 1979 sounds.

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

FS: or treat people as heretics who express this opinion in a more undiplomatic way …

Nobody is being treated as a heretic so drop the drama.
You can have whatever opinion you want, but it seems the trend to bash or slag off everything new that comes along in the sim-racing world.
Are people afraid of something or do they want it to simply stagnate ?
Regardless of the quality of the video or how many people want another F1 mod/game (because be sure a lot of people do, this isn’t about 1 person), this might turn into something good for us.
But oh how easy it is to sit in your chair with probably no contribution to the sim community yourself and slag off something new. Why even bother ?
Constructive crits is one thing but to just make a post to slag something off, meh, I see that as quite sad really.
Each to his own, but if the sim community is looked on a bunch of miserable, ungrateful and spoilt bastards, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.

  • sammy

I wont be sad if is a good game like GP4. From crammonds era, nobody have been able to build a game with dynamic wheater ( i mean, rain and after 30 minutes a nice clean path), or good tyre waer simulation; i want to see some more details and wait for a final concept.

  • http://www.bsimracing.com BSR-WiX

instead of trying to point out the things that you cant see in this video , we would better start to support an effort like this. lets not start what we all do so well on this forum….

Well, F1 Challenge did a good job at that point I think. And it was developped by ISI.

  • Sensekhmet

I can’t see what the fuss is about. I can’t se ANYTHING new in this video. If it would be detached from the news story I’d think is just another rFactor mod. Yet, people who state their lack of excitement or ‘support’ (what kind? financial? or a virtual pat on the back?) are accused of spreading negativity. Jeah, bro, H8t4ZZ always tryin’ to bring a playa down, right dawGG?

  • Torino

I guess the initiative is what is really newsworthy and worth support. There are not many pure sim developers out there, and these guys have a proven track record for doing good stuff. If they are doing something related to 80´s F1, some may find the prospect very exciting indeed.

And while I agree that the rFactor engine is getting pretty old, so long as the price is right, it might be good to see what these guys are made of. Who knows – it might be just a mod afterall.

  • FS

Anyway, here are two things mixing up. One is the news about the founding of a new software studio, and the other is a very pointless video.
If there would have been no video but just a screenshot of the bridge and the car below it, there probably would have been no bad comments at all. If you are an optimist, you might even call it good the way it is, since probably a lot more attention is drawn to this news because of heated and contoversial discussion. Which in the end would prove the people right that say that this actually was a good promotion-video, while some pessimist might say that the video might also be interpreted as a sign of how this will develop: lots of suspense of what’s going to come, and then a big dissapointment in the end. Which will again make other people say: “praise what you see or shut up!”, even if there’s not much to praise except general hopes and expectations.

  • Torino

It´s down to expectations. This is a teaser. It hints at what they´re working on, and gives a sound preview. I happen to find both pretty damn sweet.

Now you and others may find there´s not much in there to get excited about, which is fair enough. I personally find the same about the countless stories for GT5 and NFS Shift promo material, so I just skip them. It´s the brat-ish urge some in this community have to comment negatively and make their unsatisfaction clear for all to see, which gets a little old tbh.
