Tim Hogendoorn has put together an official video trailer for iOpener’s Real-Time Racing game, showing off some of the racing action at Zolder. Aside from this video taken at Zolder, this is the first time we get to see moving footage of the RTR beta version.
Using GPS technology, the iOpener Enabled Real-Time Racing game allows sim racers to compete against real race drivers driving on real tracks, right from their PC at home.
Right now, the Real-Time Racing game is being beta tested by thousands of community beta testers. If you want to join the fun, you can pre-register for a beta key here.

Ha, ha. No of course not. This is another ‘vein’ in the growing body of our sim racing community. Mark my words… 2010 is going to be an epic year for sim racing on so many fronts. It could be the best that has ever been up to this point.

Ugh, couple of technical issues with the video editing but well done. I wonder who the lucky sim-actor was?

Wow- that video left me with zero feel for the quality of the sim (game?….not on beta so who knows how it drives). How about some in-car shots from the sim racers perspective giving us a view of the racing action from the way ‘we’d’ see it?
Interesting concept – waiting to see whether it catches on or not. With the other ‘i’ company making Euro inroads (that’s a whole new standard for tracks, so Simbin is going to be on notice), and hopefully a new rFactor, this sim will need to have some decent quality.

Is this purely racing against ghost cars ??
If so I think it’s more fun racing online against others…

No, as far as I have heard AI takes over for a brief moment when you are close to a real car.
