Real-Time Racing – Beta Phase Kicks Off

The beta phase of the iOpener Enabled Real-Time Racing Game has been started today as 5000 beta testers will be racing professional race drivers at Zolder right from their home, using iOpener’s GPS technology.

Over 11.000 sim racers have signed up for the beta phase of this innovative project and it is still possible to register on the Real-Time Racing website as more beta keys will be giving out on a daily basis.

Beta testers will be racing against professionals both during live events and based on stored data recorded on these events, the first live event of the four-month beta test will start on October 8th.

Is it possible to drive before the 8th?

And where is my invitation mail? xD

And what about Fia GT? Is it in RTR now??

    And driveable like Raco07/GTR 2/rFactor ???

I wonder who will win ?

Real racing drivers who will get hurt if they screw up or someone who can just hit ‘ESC’ on the keyboard when it all goes wrong ?

    Stupidest Idea Ever.

don’t know about you delaney but in league races i’d never hit esc unless my car ain’t moving no more, as for the idea, i don’t think it’s a bad one at all, it is still only in it’s beta stages and can only get better, i’d say wait till the game is fully released before you start judging.

    peace!

I agree this game IMHO wins the price for the most stupid idea ever, plus I think it’ll be a huge flop. Not that I’d care….

It should work to some level. But the Sim cars and real will never be fully integrated. It should be an interesting experience to pit your Sim skills against the real. Sim can take more chances, but will they wreck out? Must also have fully implemented damage and corner cutting prevention.

I just can’t see how it works. AI that drives on preset rails is an annoyance, and that seems to be what this is replicating. Are the recording ghost cars? Kinda deflates the notion of driving against ‘real race drivers’.

Wouldn’t it be simpler to just put these race drivers in a sim rig and actually race against them?
