The beta phase of iOpener’s Real-Time Racing game continues to rapidly pick up pace as RTR beta testers will be treated to the first ever iOpener Enabled endurance race next weekend – The 10 hours of Zolder.
While the real drivers will be competing on track, sim racers will be joining in using iOpener Enabled technology that transfers the real racing action right into the simulation. Testers will be driving two brand new cars, the Mini Cooper S and the BMW Z4M Coupe. The race will start on 10:40 GMT on Saturday, finishing ten hours later. Furthermore, first previews of another new car have been released as we get to check out the Corvette C6.R in Real-Time Racing below.
If you´re not part of the RTR beta test squad yet, visit their website to pre-register for a beta key.

lol It’s not a Corvette. It was uglified on purpose as it’s unlicensed. I think it goes under a name “Racer” or something.
Here it is. Found more screens:

Wow. Of course it doesn’t look as good. It looks like RTR uses the old gMotor 2 graphics engine. RTR is a realistic simulation of racing a car. Shift is an arcadey console game that is sold to people who appreciate graphics more than realism.

I was thinkign the same.
When I saw the small preview pic it looked like a Toyota Supra.
Dunno what it is now but it is not a vette though.

Terrible graphics, Arnold Wong does modeling in his free time, and in probably much less time than the people making this game and his are much higher quality. Yet these tards are getting paid to do it, and some sad individuals will actually continue to buy it. If people want to get a point across, don’t buy it. Maybe they will realize they can’t keep releasing crap.

RTR is just GTR Evo with some plugins, by the looks of it. It even has the same HUD, just reskinned, and that ‘Vette looks very similar to the Evo model, as does the Marcos they’ve shown. As for the Mini and Z4, hmm, which Simbin title has previously featured those too…

Its a free beta trial guys. Its not there to test the graphics but rather the iOpener aspects. So you use a proven engine.
iRacing used NR2003 for their early trials.

Of course Shift looks better. Shift is arcade bollocks.
Not sure how this test is going to work. It starts at about 3am for me. Wonder if you can join midrace? (Albeit I’ll be asleep for most of it.)
DW: That’s why asshole Kemmer killed the NR2003 mod community. Love how ISR described him as “godfather of sim racing”. Let’s see: Overbearing, mean, arrogant, egotistical, crushes competition… Yep, sounds like a godfather to me.

Oh it’s the infamous VirtualR troll spouting rude insults to anything he doesn’t like.
Being a hardcore sim is no excuse for using a horrible dated crappy engine. I’m not even going to bother talking about Shift because it’s irrelevant here.
Anyway, I guess it’s because they are only using the old engine to test the concept. If they actually released a game in that engine, then I’ll just laugh it off and play other games.

firstly, as some1 has already said its a beta test for a feature that will be added to upcoming games, personally I am happy the graphics arent top notch because it runs very nicely on my 3 year old mid range laptop and still test the important feature which is the iopener feature, not the graphics or platform it runs on
secondly, and again repeating what has been said earlier, its not a corvette, its an unlicensed representation of a corvette for the purposes of beta testing
as far as I know if you get a slot to race this weekend in the 10 hours, you can join and leave as often as you want which is common sense really as it opens it up to more people to help give feedback
they may also ’save’ the race to allow you to race after the event
@ raikku – i take it you have been to the rtr forum to see if there is solution to your issue? iv been running it for a couple of weeks with no issues once i figured out you had to go to the rtr website to launch the game, which is weird but i figure its so they can track usage accurately during the beta

If it was GTR Evo with some plug ins then it would actually have a fully licensed corvette C6.R

How does the expiry of their license stop it being what appears to be exactly the same old engine, with a very similar-looking model with some skin details changed?
I’m fine with it as a tech demo using a proven base engine, but as any sort of retail product or graphical showcase, it’s woeful. Mind, after the blatantly buggy £30 skinpack Simbin just released, I’d not be surprised if they shipped a game in this exact state once the technology matures. Who needs to port a current-gen engine to PC when you can just add a gimmick to your old one instead?

Since you have downloaded the beta, you must have read when you agreed to it, the NDA. So, can I ask why you are discussing specifics about the beta offsite of the RTR forums?
