Kunos Simulazioni has unveiled an upcoming new DLC pack for their Assetto Corsa title.

The “Ready to Race” pack will, as the name suggests, introduce a big batch of new race cars to the title.

Coming as part of the pack are ten new race cars, including modern prototype machinery, touring cars and some classics as well.

Included Car Models

  • Audi R8 LMS 2016
  • Audi R18 e-tron quattro
  • Audi TT Cup 2016
  • Audi TT RS (VLN)
  • Lotus 3-Eleven
  • Maserati MC12 GT1
  • McLaren 570S
  • McLaren P1 GTR
  • Toyota Celica ST185 Turbo
  • Toyota TS040 Hybrid

Along with the DLC pack, the studio will also release the title’s 1.14 update, coming with the following changes:

  • Added wind algorithm
  • Added AI Aggression selection
  • More AI differences within a single lap to generate more battles
  • Added AI wing setup variations
  • New AI algorithms for understeer detection and downshifting
  • Improved Downshift Protection
  • Updated Steam statistic reader to synchronize steam achievement

The DLC pack & update will be available starting May 18. As usual, console users of Assetto Corsa will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the new content.

More than anything in this great sim I’m waiting for, is the AI update, I find myself playing it less because of the AI in single player, I hope they have fixed the Faster AI, driving behind and not overtaking slower AI, if that is fixed, I’m sure this sim will shoot back up to my most played racing sim.

Keep up the good work Stefano and crew, I’ll be buying the DLC day one as well you guys deserve it, pure quality modelled cars and content.

    • MC

You can’t expect Montoya to put any effort into his website =)

      • anonymouse

He works for Ian Bell afterall.

      • melanieuk1

Good, I’d rather him work for someone with money, than a broke arse developer, who is struggling to pay there content creators, let alone get decent license to put in their own game.

      • quf

He shouldn’t work for any developer. Conflict of interests.

  • Sloeri

The MC12 alone is enough for me to buy this DLC 🙂 my favorite car of all time, and not featured in many race sims yet 😉

    • melanieuk1

I’m sure it was in GTR2 by Slightly Mad Studio/SimBin.

      • Sloeri

yes, it was indeed… as i said, not in “many” race sims yet.

      • Hugo Stiglitz

        what about NFS Shift 2?

        (that was a joke LOL)

      • Olivier Maas

        or Simraceway

  • Agony

    best news

  • Leper Messiah

gawd I havn’t driven every car of the base game yet! LOL This is too good to pass up though. Although I’d prefer more tracks if I’m honest.

  • svenvangent

Great to have this new DLC in a couple of months for Console but we need more tracks than cars for the moment

    • Leynad

Since months i try to convince Kunos at least to release a mod-pack, maybe with some poll which one to choose. So many great mods available today as good as AC-standard and some doesn´t exist anymore anyway, but people want it “laserscanned”. SMS just claims all pCars2-tracks are laserscanned and people will buy it, regardless if it´s true or not. Certainly it´s utter BS and they even never published one laserscanned image so far, which would be an obvious move if it´s true.

      • Markus Ott

They have. It was in a video, comparing a drone shot and actual ig graphics.

      • MC

I think Forza made the same claim (about FM5 iirc). Also I believe Codies said the same thing about the first F1 game (then obviously didn’t scan anything).

  • IVJG Knight

I like the car list. But i would also like the 24h Circuit de la Sarthe track to race them on.

    • Leynad

The mod should be very good, but i didn´t check it out myself with the latest update. Le Mans is just to boring to drive and AC has too many tracks missing without it. Since we have a top-notch mod for VIR, i would like to have Sebring or Bathurst. I just know the Bathurst-mod and even it´s looking nice, it seems to narrow.

  • Glen Orpheus

always happy to receive new DLC for AC, but how about a new track with each car pack please Kunos (“,)

  • Richard Hessels

Is bunch of mixed cars, although a nice selection. I would have gladly seen some more cars in the same class.

    • Bakkster

And half of those cars don’t even appear to be race cars. Though without more information, it’s hard to tell.

      • anonymouse

Surprisingly enough given their tendency of flooding their dlcs with street cars, this time around almost all of them are race cars.

Out of all the cars listed, the P1 GTR is technically not a race car (kinda like the Zonda R; built for the track, but not developed for actual racing) and the 570S exists in GT4 specification but they didn’t bother saying if it’s the GT4 car or it’s the road car. The 3-Eleven is not a race car either, just a road car for track days. The Celica, I would hope it’s the Gr.A specification car, the rally version in poor words. Audi TT Cup is a race car, they have their own one-make series as support for DTM.

The rest are obviously race cars.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

How much more information than Google provides do you need? Seven of the ten cars are straight up full fledged race cars, one is half race car half track day car, one is a full fledged track day car, and one is a street car.

      • Bakkster

I was more musing how much more useful this news article would be if I didn’t need to Google search to get the basic information 😉

      • quf

By the name of the cars you can tell which is which. And in the odd case the name of the car doesn’t reveal you can google it. There’s also information about each car in AC’s facebook where they give description and screenshots. For example the lotus 3-eleven comes in road and race car version but AC will simulate the racing one.

      • Bakkster

The Celica and McLaren are ambiguous. The road car Celica, or the rally car? The road car 570S, or the GT4 race car? The fact these two are separate answers is why it would have been nice to have all on this page.

    • Penteano

That part I’ll have to agree with. If I could buy item by item would be fantastic. I’m basically only driving GT3/E and touring cars anyway

  • Felipe Elias

    where’s the tracks??

    • Michael Hornbuckle

      • Felipe Elias

some buggy and high FPS drop tracks? no, thank you!

      • ASUSNEX

Theres probably 20+ unbuggy high fps track to choose.
say yes thanks you all great modders to let you all have
        this for free.

      • Felipe Elias

Im not blaming community dude, but the poorly modding support provide by Kunos. And they ban everyone that make some noise asking for some useful stuff… All they do is get all modders work and put their mark on it. So you can say Yes and Thanks to Kunos for “robbing” all modders work and doing nothing to make AC a better sim.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

Wow, you deserve buggy mods if you actually believe any of the junk that you just spewed. Designing the game from day 1 to be mod-friendly is somehow giving poor mod support? What? Buying mods, and even hiring modders full time; how exactly is that taking modders work and putting their mark on it? (doing so would have got them sued long ago, btw)…Anyways, it’s pretty clear to see where you get your ‘information’ from, so good luck with that. BTW, how does releasing the 14th major update (and one that has a changelog a mile long) equal “doing nothing to make AC a better sim”?

      • Patrik Marek

they haven’t changed the PDF document since the Early accesss, lot of things have changed and are not covered there,
the sample formulaK is broken and doesn’t load in game without fixing it yourself so yeah, poor support I agree

maybe not poorest of all, but poor never the less

don’t agree with the rest necessarily, but the modding support could and should have been better !

and that’s not even mentioning things like closing down the modding section of their forum 😛

      • quf

The actual modding sections remain open :P, what closed were the sections which were used to host links to download mods from who was designing the cars, tracks, liveries. All that part has went to Racedepartment and other websites (which were used for hosting before as well). For progress threads on mods they went to RD, as you know, so much didn’t change.

For the rest you mentioned, are there threads asking to update what’s needed for modding? Maybe they don’t see the need to work on this if people already know how to create their stuff with the information already there.

      • Patrik Marek

well but since a lot of modders went to other forums, it’s much less likely to get answer to your modding questions/support 🙂 but fair enough, it wasn’t closed

they promised to make a more robust and up-to-date PDF, which would be super helpful thing for everyone that wants to start modding

modding forum is great, but if there is too much info, it’s hard to find what you need

      • HammerX

Upgrade your computer. Technology software changes all the time and so should your rig. If you can’t keep up, try Mario carts. 🙂

    • Felipe Elias

      Kunos’s fanboys going nuts! 😂

      • HammerX

        Troll. Lol!

  • Leper Messiah

I’m hearing really good things about the Ai improvements so can’t wait to test this out for myself.

    • F1Racer

After a 10 lap race with the Audi TT Cup in Spa, I can say that not only was the AI hard to keep up with (for me) but they performed really well.
Taking advantage of mistakes such as when I miseed my turn in point at Pouhon, went wide and lost time on the exit, one car which I had just past blew by me on the inside without hesitation.
Wheel to wheel up the Kemmel straight. They still can be beaten under braking like all AI in all sims, but there was no silly collisions at all.
      So far, so good.

      • Patrik Marek

cool, glad to hear that, AI was always my big complain about AC, can’t wait to try update

      • F1Racer

I’ve only had the one race so far though. I’m hoping it keeps up as it did in the first one.

Fave cars so far… Audi TT Cup, Maserati MC12, Toyota Celica.

McLaren P1 GTR has no brakes for its power and one of the cars…cant remember if it was the Lotus 3-11 or the McLaren 570S…. understeer city 🙂

      • Leper Messiah

Yeah I’ve started a 11 race custom championship in GT cars, 1st round at Barca at 95% and the Ai is toasting me!! I’m crap awful in the 458 Italia so of course I picked that as my car for some masochistic reason. I actually tried holding the Ai up in “rolling chicane” tm mode and it never worked for long as they’d get past me.

Only tried out the R8 LMS and R18 eTron so far, like the R8 but the R18…just cannot get on with it at all.

      • F1Racer

The Le Mans type cars don’t really do it for me for some reason. Never been a big fan. That being said, if we had an official Le Mans track with a good set of cars, I’d run it.

      • Leper Messiah

yeah that’d be good AC needs more tracks now. I’m not a fan of driving the modern LMP cars, all this hybrid faff. All I want is steer left, steer right, loud pedal, stop pedal, gear up , gear down and I’m golden, all this “harvesting” and “deploying” nonsense…. I’m getting old!

  • Me

    OK, 5 days…17 hours…new story please.

    • Michael Hornbuckle

He has to wait for pcars2 news. 🙂

  • menacegtr

Very impressed with the AI. they will now make an effort to overtake but in a way that feels like a multiplayer race. they will try and comeback at you and in most cases will succeed. I had a 20 car race at 100% difficulty, 75% aggression and 5% variable using the maserati mc12 and gave me the best AI race i have ever had. It was a grid of GT1,GT2 and GT3 cars

    • Naeem Ali

Great, can’t wait to try, thanks for the tip

  • RossBerg15

The Lotus 3-Eleven is a whole lotta fun, especially in VR with no roof to spoil your view. Had some great races against a field of GT3 cars around Silverstone.
