We can add another real-life racing driver to the list of rFactor users as Indycar driver Raphael Matos was caught playing Michael Peters’ Indycar Series 2009 mod during a rain delay at Indianapolis.
Even though Matos uses a quite unusual way to control the car, it’s always good to see rFactor being used by known drivers. Currently racing a full Indycar Series season, Matos was the 2007 Champcar Atlantic & 2008 Indy Lights series champion. Other highlights of his career include participation in the A1 Grand Prix Series for Team Brazil as well as sportscar races in the ALMS and Grand Am, including the Rolex 24 Hour race at Daytona.

Where can I buy that wheel? I like the small diameter. Hahahaha.
That interview is an embarrassment to all simracers.

Perhaps when he saw the camera crew wandering in he thought he’d better hide his game of Missile Command.

That has to be the most retarded setup I’ve ever seen. How in the world can you use a sim like rFactor at all using those controls? That is most definitely not helping him prepare for anything at all. Maybe track cues, but that’s about it.

This is absurd. I was at an Winter X-Games and at Sony’s Gran Turismo booth, the setup was mostly steering wheels and pedals (although set to played standing up) and a few PS3 controller only setup.

WEIRD. Looks like a cross between those street fighter 4 sticks poeple drool over, some factory equipment that might or might not be used to fill pies with & the play centre off my niece’s baby walker

Regardless, it must be cool for the mod makers to have their stuff used by the real drivers.

I volunteer myself to configure a proper wheel and pedal setup for him. I’ve also got some fast setups for him to work off of as well.
Whoever set that arcade machine up for him deserves a punch in the nose. It was probably a “tech rep” from another team.

folks, we had JUST got the machine donated to us
we hadnt yet gone out to buy the steering wheel, but youll hear rafa say the guys were on the way to best buy to get a wheel
versus wanted to do the interview then, instead of waiting for the proper setup
thanks to those who bash, without facts
