RaceRoom Experience – BMW License Announced

Simbin has kicked off the new year with a licensing announcement for RaceRoom Racing Experience as BMW joins the free to play title.

The first car revealed to be part of the license is the BMW 320 Turbo Group 5 of Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft fame.

Powered by a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine, the 320 Turbo utilised up to 600hp of power. The car was campaigned by BMW’s own Junior Team that saw promising young drivers such as Eddie Cheever and Marc Surer engaging in successful battles against other German manufacturers.

Simbin points out that their license includes other BMW vehicles as well, for now the 320 Turbo remains to be the only revealed car though.

    Nice, good job Simbin

It’s very nice to see a company like BMW willing to grant multiple non-exlusive licenses to developers. should be good.

Gruppe 5. That is super news.

I agree with the other posters, this is fantastic news. BMW, Pagani and Lotus appear to be the easiest licenses for smaller developers to acquire. Its a shame the other big makes aren’t as accessible.

seems that BMW is easy to work with, and eager to let her brand be in as much good simulators as possible: best choice! they make money but they don’t alienate fans with thses awful exclusive licences.

I love these DRM cars! So much power, rear wheel drive and not all that much grip (compared to today).

The DRM mod for rF1 is one of the most fun to drive in sim racing IMO.

The engines are real screamers as well revving close to 10k rpm and with lots of boost!! :)

They also announced today Nissan R35 GTR GT1 License

Agreed, the DRM mod for rF1 is one of my top favourite mods. So if these ones are anywhere near close to that, then this is going to be good.

Another world first : A Free to play game that you can’t actually play :)

    What are they worried about?

In the closed beta there are some very nice modern BMW’s as well. They sound, look and drive really well!!

I spent 4-5 hours straight yesterday trying out some of the new cars, RR is climbing fast on the candidate for best sim list! Its extremely drivable and if you know what you are doing you hardly ever crash even after hours of driving and hot laping, but its really(!) hard to master!

  • Ricoo

It looks nice. I’m green I can’t play the game due to a nasty bug. :(
