Virtua_LM has released the Fuji Speedway for rFactor, adding a historical one of Japan's most important race tracks to the simulation. Based on the version released for F1 Challenge, the track has been extensively modified and revamped to make most of rFactor's graphic engine. Included are the 1982, 1990 & 1993 layouts of the track as well as the 1993 bike configuration. GTL, GTR2 & GTR Evolution versions of this release will be coming up soon! Located near the famous Mount Fuji in Oyama, Japan, Fuji Speedway was opened in 1963. The track was a popular venue for sports car races ...
Back in December, a new simulation software studio opened its doors as Reiza Studios officially picked up business. Now, the studio has revealed their first project, announcing the Formula Armaroli race car for rFactor. Made in co-operation with Armaroli Simulators, the Formula Armaroli car is a fictional open-wheel race car modelled after 80s Formula One machinery. The car weighs 540 kilos and is powered by a 650hp turbo engine, bringing some of the best action in Grand Prix history to the simulation. Everybody will be able to try the studio's first public project as the Formula Armaroli race car will be released ...
Jessica, Darin & Shaun of InsideSimRacing.tv were recently joined by Image Space Incorporated's Gjon Camaj who visited the guys for an interview in an upcoming SRT episode. ISI's head-honcho did not come empty-handed though as Camaj showed off rFactor 2's user interface for the very first time. Below are six screenshots of the interface, showing off what looks like a major improvement over rFactor's much criticised UI-system.Taking a closer look, the screenshots reveal some very interesting details as the task bar gives away the version number used by Camaj for the presentation - 0.783. Also, we´re starting to get an idea on the ...
About a year ago, Team NLC announced a sucessor to their popular VLN 2005 mod for rFactor, planning to bring the 2009 season of Germany's popular racing series to the simulation. For almost twelve months, the team has been quietly working in full force on their massive project and is now able to present us with a very big batch of renders to show off their progress. The renders show twelve different car models sporting various liveries. While some models like the Renault Clio or the Mini Cooper S have been converted, others have been equipped with new parts such as the ...
As promised, Codemasters have just released the first of their developer diary videos, introducing us to some of their staff and showing off first-ever moving footage of F1 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Footage in the video has been taken from a pre-alpha version of the title that was shown-off in London today, showing us some gameplay action at Monza. Following their maiden Formula One title that was released only for the Playstation Portable and the Nintendo Wii, Codemasters will be bringing the 2010 Formula One season to the PC, ...

The PC demo should be there soon
“We found a problem with keyboard input stalling single threaded PCs due to a lack of time allowed for the keyboard update to run. A by product of our recent preformance tuning I’m afraid. We could not realease a demo with this problem in it, but it’s now been fixed and the demo is being prepped as I speak. Just waiting for the final nod from QA, which I suspect will come early tomorrow morning GMT.”

Downloaded this off of Xbox Live earlier today. Gave it a little test, some first impressions:
- Great graphics and presentation, amazing car models + interiors. I’m sure that GRID’s renditions of Spa + Le Sarthe will look fantastic when it’s released. (accuracy is a different matter though )
- Physics aren’t so great. The game was never meant to be a sim, but the cars seem to handle exactly like they do in DIRT, which is odd considering that’s a off-road rally game. Feels a little silly roaring into a corner and basically drifting around it sideways in the E90.
- Sounds (in the cockpit view at least) are pretty bad. Can’t even hear the engine, and the transmission whine is pretty damn annoying.
But all in all, it’s decent fun. Can’t help but feel like there’s so much wasted potential here though. With the cars and tracks on offer, coupled with some fantastic graphics and presentation, this could’ve made such a great sim.

For me it was a big dissapointment.testing the PS3 version.
Grid is 100% pure Arcade. the looks are no way near the hyped videos . On a full HD res it is a scaled down res ingame. Speed is real arcade ( way to fast ) . brake distances are unrealistic. there is no feel at all . for me it feels like playing Need for speed. I had high hopes for this one, but it cant flatter me. i will stick to GTR2 , rFactor , Need for speed. dont let this put you off tough. its just my personal opinion / taste . lets see what the PC version is going to be.

If you’re expecting a game with similar physics to GTR/rFactor (or even Forza) then you’re definitely going to be disappointed.
Although I too was pretty surprised at just how arcade the game really is. Probably has more in common with the Project Gotham series than anything in terms of handling. But like I said, decent fun for 10 minutes, but definitely not something to buy.
Who knows, maybe one day somebody might rework the physics on the PC version as a mod.

Tried it today on the Xbox too. Not impressed. Replay has nice controls but couldnt see full replays in time trials.
Car physics just dont do it for me. Forza 2 and even PGR4 are a better driving experience.
Nice graphic details though, but too much blurring I feel.
I expected a better driving experience than this to be honest. It is quite a bit more arcade feeling than I expected.
Maybe it will feel a bit better on the PC with my G25.

Race Driver: GRID PC Demo Delayed
Kicking things off today, Codemasters has announced that they’ve released a demo for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of their upcoming racing title, Race Driver: GRID. Where’s the promised PC demo? According to Codemasters’ Rich Tysoe, some last-minute bugs popped up and have forced a short delay. Here’s the scroop:
We’ve had some demo-specific bugs crop up, at the very last minute, and we can’t release the demo with those bugs still unresolved. It wouldn’t be good for codemasters, and neither would it be good for the PC fans of GRID.
I’m sorry you’ll have to wait a little bit longer, but it’ll be worth it.
There’s no word on when the PC demo will launch. But we’ll be sure to keep you posted!

Really bad game. Tested it on my 360 and it really sucks. Ok the graphics are really nice, but the gameplay is soooo bad. The physics are pure arcade. Even worse than arcade. Someone should invent a new subgenre for GRID. WTCC cars that almost have the performance ratings of an Formula 1 car but handle totally weird.
The AI sucks too. Every time you overtake them and take the next corner on the line they bump really hard into you as if you’re not existant. On almost every “crash” you go straight off the track but the AI drives like nothing happend. In the Mustang race one AI crashed into a chicane after the first lap and for the rest of the race the AI tried “avoiding” this barrier by driving nonstop straight forward in the barrier.
The damage model looks nice but is way too forgiving. I really crashed hard in the mustang race but my car wasn’t hardly damaged. Instead I gained a few seconds thanks to the crash and I could overtake the car in front of me.

WOW!! I am very dissapointed in this game! the physics are awfull! the AI is too aggressive! (the grafics are nice) the damage which was suposed to be the best ever are like your driving in an armored truck! ps. retards at code masters, CARBON FIBER DOESNT BEND LIKE METAL! it freeking shatters!!! if you clip a wall at 150 mph in a formula 3 your day is fucking done! you dont just scratch the paint! This game is %100 arcade!!! GTR2, GTR, RFactor,FORZA MOTORSPORT, FORZA MOTORSPORT 2, GT Legends and many other games have ten times better physics, damage and AI EVEN THE PGR SERIES. And that stupid Flash Back tool! get that out of here! you dont get second chances in race cars or anything!!
ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I am sticking with real race sim!!!
