Codemasters’ Racedriver GRID demo is not getting very favorably reviews in the sim racing community so far. Interestingly, it looks like if some of the flaws could be ironed out by the community. GRID comes with csv and xml files where some values can be edited.
The clever folks in the NoGripRacing forums found out how to turn of the rather unrealistic-looking HDR effect. To turn it off open the following file: “documents\codemasters\grid demo\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml” and set postprocess and blur to “false”.
It looks a lot better as you can see below.

Another hint comes from VirtualR reader Markus. In “GRID Demo\cars\tyreGrip.csv”, the tire grip values can be turned down, making the cars a little more realistic.
Hopefully, this is just the start of things to come in terms of fixes for this good looking but bad handling game.

while some modding is indeed possible, this game just does not have what it takes for us to dedicate time to. However we urge persons to keep exploring the demo, and get a jump on the others!

You made me reinstall the demo: that screenshot is way better than default graphics.

I put here some comparison shots of the demo: results are not so bad and shows that Grid engine is really good, without those exagerated effects! ;)

yep its possible in Dirt but doesnt really make it run any better because GRID has had some sort of performance optimization
