Here’s another preview video of Simbin’s RACE Pro Xbox 360 simulation. After taking a closer look at Road America some days ago, this time we get to check out the game’s other all-new track – Laguna Seca.
The video starts in Macau but switches to a GT Club race at Laguna Seca after some seconds. We get to see two complete laps from various perspectives, giving us plenty of time to check out all the track’s details such as the famous corkscrew corner.

Why these Race Pro-videos are in wrong aspect-ratio, everytime?

The way the steering wheel instantly jerks back to the centre all the time is pretty jarring. No doubt it’s because of the controller, but hopefully they’ll find a way to smooth that out before release.
I honestly do think the engine looks a bit rough around the edges from the screens I’ve seen – I’m thinking Simbin have just used the gMotor engine as a base and have given it a bit of a face-lift. I remember seeing a couple of screenshots where like in the gMotor engine there are no shadows rendered in the rear-view mirrors for example.
While I’m probably gonna pick this one up (depending on the demo), I’m much more interested in whatever the hell Blimey! are up to (that’s if they’re still alive )

The more videos I see the less impressed I am. The environments in every track I’ve seen so far look oversaturated and unrealistic and the lighting and shader effects dont look up to scratch compared to gt5/grid. The damage model is disappointing especially compared to grid.
Having said all that, neither of those games are really sims so the important thing for race pro is the physics, which i guess we’ll have to wait for the game release to find out.

The videos are all choppy and look like crap. Simbin, get someone who has half a little bit of talent to make you quality videos to show off the game.
