RACE Pro – First Preview

Eurogamer had the chance to take an early look at Simbin’s RACE Pro simulation for the Xbox360 and published a quite extensive preview article on the new console racer.

In a nutshell, the author sums up what almost everybody expects – RACE Pro will most likely set a new benchmark in terms of physics and realism on consoles, failing to impress with the same eye-candy as Race Driver GRID or Forza Motorsport.

The article is very well worth a read – Even though the author does not seem to be much of a motorsports buff (The Audi R8 road car has nothing to do with Le Mans…..). RACE Pro is due to be released next month and I´m very curious to find out how the average console user will react to a proper simulation.

    Well I will agree that this will be a benchmark for realism on the 360, and with a good racing cockpit setup, it’s sure worth it, but graphically, they need to do much better… after experiencing so much of GT5 Prologue, going back to these visuals reminds me of PS2 graphics… but I would still buy it for the driving aspect :sd:

    Nice read, and a promising game :) To cut the author some slack: the prototype for the R8 was called ‘Le Mans’ and its been included in games under that name before.

    To my knowledge…back in the days, the old Le Mans racers was also tagged the Audi R8 as well… maybe some confusion there.
