Hmmmm, seems a light weight version of GTR Evo rather than a full conversion.

I’m surprised things like fuel loads and practice sessions are not available as such. Also surprised that cars are locked to begin with.

Also the the WTCC doesn’t have the “Two race feature” whats that about?

Still I may get it for when the misses does her night shifts and I have to stay in the house when the kids are asleep. (The baby monitor wont work where my Sim rig is :sad2: )

I have always been critical about console simracing, I just dont see it happening, and Simbin are clearly going for something between Need for Speed and their pc titles. In addition to what Phil mentions tire wear is an “advanced option”?!

  • zudthespud

stabiz, fuel and tyre wear is an advanced option in GTR Evo.

I like to sound of the multiiplayer, I can’t think of a console racer with a qualifying format. In GRID Its terrible, it i sjust who says they are ready first.

 It is? I dont play Evo much, but is it really turned off in default in Evo?

It seems like a simplified version of GTR Evo, but still more or at least equally as advanced as Forza 2 (which is good enough for me for a console game).

The most annoying thing about it for me is that the cars are not all available from the beginning, but that’s usually how it works for console games.

I still don’t understand why the WTCC seasons don’t follow the two race format or allow you to run a proper qualifying session for it. As the WTCC is an officially licenced part of the game and it is a sim the season should be properly represented.

I’m not having a dig at Simbin as I’ve always been quick to defend them, but I’m hoping this “console” mentality doesn’t filter through to future PC products. :weird:

Still I’m likely to be in Game on Friday morning getting my copy as I need a good racer on my console.

Yeah, it’s a bit strange but it doesn’t bother me too much. If they would have done the same thing to their next PC title I would have protested though, but I doubt they’ll do such a thing.

And I just got confirmation that my pre-order of Race Pro was sent out today, so I should have it in my hands tomorrow hopefully.

A console DOES NOT have the horsepower of a PC that runs EVO. SimBin will tell you that. I got EVO last week and it is awesome in single player. The O/L game leaves something to be desired. MP on the console will be the ticket for RP and SimBin.

These things are not a big problem for me as I have GTR EVO for my serious racing, but some small things like the WTCC race formats are just a strange thing not to have the same!

But it’s still looking good so I’ll be getting it. My 10year old nephew is desperate to be introduced to Simbins title. He watches me on my PC but he’s too short to drive it as my rig doesn’t adjust enough for him.

He takes his racing quite seriously considering he only plays console games like Forza2 and GT4, but I think with practice he could be good at Race Pro.
