Simbin has released two new artwork previews of their upcoming RACE On PC simulation, showing us the Swedish STCC series and the Camaro Cup in action.
RACE On has been announced to be released in September or October 2009, the title will include all RACE07 content and brand new stuff including the 2008 WTCC season, the Swedish Touring Car Championship, US muscle cars and the Formula Master series.

Honestly, these shots are of old content that has already been released. They just added Photoshop filters and a Race On logo. Fail.

Finally they are learning something from Forza and Gran Turismo about how to sell their games to casual eyecandy seeking gamers who do not care about how realistic a car really feels to drive. Use Photoshop like Hell and when the game finally releases it does not look as good as the screenshots.

WTF now its not coming until almost the start of November?

Retailer release dates are not reliable. Isn’t GT5 being released on 29th December according to one retailer? Simbin have said Sep/Oct – so the retailer will just opt for the last Thursday in October because their site software can’t cope with “Sept/Oct”, and for some reason release dates are traditionally on Thursday.

That isn’t the price for the add-on. That’s the price for the full game i.e. RACE 07, with the STCC and Race On addons.

For me it’s an Add-on because in Holland you can’t buy add-on’s.
So I bought race 07 + gtr-evolution full + stcc ( steam becaus it wasn’t for sale here.)and now Race on full version if I don’t want steam, that’s alot of money.

Getting quite excited about this game. Probably the best time to start with all them RACE games. Don’t have any of them yet.
Never Blame Holland
It’s BS btw, that you can’t buy add-ons in the Netherlands.

Oh good grief… STOP with the endless shots of stuff we’ve already seen Simbin! How about some previews of the new TRACKS?
I’m a huge Simbin fan but all this is even pissing ME off now.

Used for XBox360 Race Pro earlier this year, but still being transferred to PC. Won’t be out on PC this year according to Simbin.

I hope they make better use of the Lizard engine when they release a game with it for PC. Because Race Pro is probably one of the ugliest games I’ve seen on Xbox 360.

Seems that ‘Race On’ is Simbin trying to re-invent the entire Race’07-package, but this time with the US-market in forcus – agreed, to owners of allready released content, these socalled ‘artworks’ are really boring and even photo-edited in an attempt to impress.

I believe when it comes to the point where your ‘artwork’ has artificially added effects like DOF, HDR, Motion blur, etc–things that some other games *do* have– we’re getting pretty disingenuous and approaching false advertising. Though they don’t claim that these are real screenshots, the implication is definitely there, and indeed most commercial websites will call them “new Race On screenshots,” and (ugh) use them in their damn reviews.
I can appreciate that this is one of those things that once one company does it everybody else has to follow, so it isn’t really SimBin in particular though.

I really wonder what your problem is with Steam…
I got Race07 retail and all the other add-on though Steam.. There’s absolutely no need in this country to buy gtr evo retail. :’) Or you should be as crazy as an elephant with pink socks. There’s no reason to pay twice for race07, and that was not needed what you did. And you KNEW it!! Maybe that’s the worst after all.. Knowing Steam is cheaper (€20 for add-on) but buying the full Evo for €50.. :/ Not the smartest move I think

GTR Evolution Retail = £19.99
GTR Evolution Steam Addon = £13.99
GTR Evolution On my shelf or in my hand = Priceless.
My hard earned cash will not be spent on a download, I want something to hold, read and see sitting in my collection
.
Even bought STCC online from Sweden as I wasn’t willing to pay for a Steam download. That’s not against Steam as the automatic updates etc is great
