where do you see 2 different BMW’s? I can only see the M3 GT2 car…

then watch the video again, lol. you’ll see an E30 in bastos colours.

The E30 is clearly there, coolest of the lot.

Am i the only one who doesn’t even care this thing exists now that AC is 1 step closer to release?

    • Pavel Drandiiski

      yes…

    • Anonymous

The hillclimb with classic racecars will still be awesome fun, as long as AC does not have such tracks this title will have a place on my hard drive.

      • http://twitter.com/3Alessio7Milan Alessio

Have you tried the BMW Judd on the Hill climb? It sucks. I don’t think I’d like to spend any more money and in return receive disappointment.

      • Anonymous

How does it suck? I think its pretty enjoyable, but perhapse im such a sucker for sound that i forgive other elements. For me physics is no 1 then sound is no 2 and 3…

    • gt3rsr

This title’s been one big disappointment since the date of its announcement. Sounds are good, the rest is… meh.

    • nameless

Its fun, I think the engine has potential but you can’t expect much depth from a free2play game. As soon AC or rf2 reach gold, there will be no reason to stick with R3E.

    • Anonymous

In my Book you are; as I have room for this, AC, rF2 (which I really find disappointing at this time) pCARS, and even SRW! I enjoy them all for what they offer, I don’t expect all of them to be the same, and I support them all!

      • Anonymous

You don’t expect them all to be the same, but they will come with the same cars & the same tracks, if only some came with more street circuits, like forza or gt5….one can only dream :)

    • http://twitter.com/_Jagdstaffel11_ ___ ɥqp ___

      Nope…

    • Jim. C

I don’t care for this either. GTR3 on the other hand….

      • Marco Hooghuis

        …does not exist.

  • http://twitter.com/ernie_of_metal Ernie

I wonder if all these cars are buyable stuff only, or whether Simbin will add 1-2 new cars for free. For now the free content is very sparse.

    • Mikko

“Free 2 race”… m’kay.. but you have to buy all the content? Isn’t it a bit misleading. Get the game free but in order to play it, you have buy the content (cars & tracks). Or is there some free content in the actual release?
Also.. why are they showing the game as a drifting game? :)

I’ve had it with R3E. I posted on the beta forums with a problem and they just plain ignored me and another guy who had the same issue.

I got admitted in the closed beta together with another guy from Colombia, we live in the same city and have the same ISP. Neither of us could even register an account because we weren’t able to open the game portal due to an issue with our network settings. We asked SimBin to help us and to tell us what exactly should we tell to our crappy ISP (because our ISP can’t do crap for customer service). Now, the beta forums don’t even load but last time I checked SimBin had ignored us for almost 15 days.

You ask us for our help as testers yet deny our help and let us in the dark? Sure, Latin America might be a small market but this is plain rude…

  • Professional Operator

Sounds are very very important. Graphic is not everything. R3E have the best sounds on the market.

So even if AC is the biggest sim out there, I’m still very interested in R3E.

Do not close yourself to a single sim. There’s place for booth.

    • Marco Hooghuis

Agree! Most sims have their own (dis)advantages. If you count sims out because you’re ‘loyal’ the only one who’s missing out is you!

  • eifionevans

This really needs AI and multiplayer racing before I’m coming back to it.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Rydesign.fr Rene Yves Jean-charles

same for me ; im waiting for that

      • Hobbs77

Same here, so it’s GTR3 or bust!

This is why I don’t like their model, and will be supporting, Assetto corsa, Pcars & rFactor 2, don’t have to worry about the service going down, because they include offline play with Ai’s, and no internet required to play single player mode.

    • Pavel Drandiiski

Just a reminder that pCARS does not have offline play.

      • Anonymous

Really, so I have to be connected to the internet to play single player Pcars?

      • pez2k .

pCARS currently has online authentication on startup to prevent leaks and ensure that the user is a valid member. This is purely for security during development as it currently has no copy protection. An internet connection is only required for that single check each startup (and if and when you want to play online or submit leaderboard times, obviously).

It’s not yet been decided what copy protection the final game will use, but anything that requires an internet connection for normal usage of the game is unlikely.

      • Anonymous

Thank you for clearing that up :) would have been a disappointment if it was the case.

    • Marco Hooghuis

Requiring internet for usage is a very big disadvantage indeed. Not to mention the amount of people you’re neglecting this way. Those numbers are higher than you might think.

  • http://twitter.com/brafxs Mr.None

i wanna multiplayer/ai races. i will not buy cars/tracks to play only hotlaps

  • nameless

P4/5 Competizione. well, now there’s no doubt for me that GTR 3 is pretty much vaporware. The shot of that car (released long time ago) was the only thing I believed could be GTR 3 material.

    • Anonymous

I think GTR3 will happen, but my theory is that GTR3 was in the works until this torrent of sims we have now was starting to flow, and simbin put a hold on GTR3 not to compete with so many fresh titles.

      • pez2k .

Purely speculation, but if it was intended to be a simulation of a full real-world series like GTR1 and 2 then GTR3 would need quite a decent budget to cover the licensing. A microtransaction-based title like R3E provides Simbin with an ongoing revenue stream with which they can plan and develop future products.
I think R3E could even be potentially more profitable than GTR3, there must be some decent money in F2P sims for three seperate companies to spot and aim at the gap in the market at the same time (Simraceway, Simbin and SMS).

      • Anonymous

        pcars is not f2p

      • pez2k .

I know, but SMS’ original intention was to make a F2P sim with microtransactions as Simraceway and Simbin now have.

  • Ioannis

I didn’t know Keiichi Tsuchiya is on the delevopment team.
