The Virtua_LM Junior Team seems to be on a roll with releasing new preview videos of their popular Prototype C mod as a new HD video is available, showing the Lancia LC1 around Mid Ohio.
We get to ride several laps on the Italian prototype as it passes lots of slower traffic.
Combining both Prototypes and GT’s from three different classes, Prototype C for rFactor centers around the 1983 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hour race. The mod includes legendary race cars like the Porsche 956, the Lancia LC2, the BMW M1 and countless other cars that are still considered to be among the most beautiful and spectacular sports cars of all time.

Other than the dirt buildup and the fact the game time is set to 7:30 AM they are 100% transparent :)

Yes, real physics programmed and perfected by real racers. Many real car/sim car back to back tests undertaken.

I think they have to release all these previews because Enduracers beat them to the punch. They need to prise people away from that mod, and releasing previews to remind them of this is the way to do it. I hope that the physics won’t be hardcore but realistic. Sadly that distinction is non existant to many sim racers.

Holy moly, the “want” levels are rising…
That’s a Lancia LC2 in the video, not an LC1. (Which is open-cockpit)

Nope, thought that too at first. But the LC1 entered in 1983 was actually a closed-cockpit version.
Here’s a photo, compare the windscreen sticker:

Oh no you don’t. The LC2 was introduced in 1983 and raced at Le Mans in 1983. :)

34th and 35th(DNF).
So this doesn’t need a 4-cyl turbo like it sounds to me that it has, it needs a V8 turbo.

I was just a kid without any idea of sims and mods when they were releasing their prototypes mod and didn’t know what to expect in terms on physics on this one. But surely when something looks like that in motion, I don’t need to “hope” that physics will be realistic, it shows allready

The LC1 started life as an open-top Group 6 car before two were converted to Group C specification (with a roof) by an Italian private team in 1983, while Lancia set about developing the Group C spec LC2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_LC1

Okay… so this is the converted closed-top LC1. Now I get it.

Release date? When? WHEN!!!
Nah jk, although it looks and sounds so damn good I do want it right now
Its hard to stay away from rfactor when modders continue to work on awesome projects like the enduracers mod and now this.

Despite what the headline says, this mod is not from Virtua_LM. This mod is from the VLM_JT or junior team. Those two courses are being developed by Virtua_LM but this mod is not.
And there will not be any release dates set or given. EVER.

Nonsense. The fact that Enduracers has released their mod is irrelevant and had nothing to do with Alex’s decision to post videos. Furthermore, there is no need to “prise” people away from anything. It will make no difference to us whether people race with these cars or not. We are making the cars because WE love to work on them and to race with them. Besides, how can a preview video possibly stop anyone from racing with a mod ? That is ridiculous.
