Project CARS – Lots Of New Previews + Audio Teaser

Slightly Mad Studios have released a big batch of new community-made Project CARS previews.

All of the previews below have been made by WMD community members, showing in-game graphics of Project CARS taken straight from the actual gameplay.

Meanwhile, the audio side of Project CARS is making some impressive progress as new features & refinements are being added on a daily basis. The newest feature from the sound department is directional audio that makes for a more dynamic & realistic sound experience.

Check out the two videos below, showing the effect at work during a flyby and a burnout as the car and the noise-source moves around in front of the camera.

Like all features in Project CARS, the audio effects are very much work in progress so these videos should be seen merely as teasers of what’s to come in the coming weeks!

Project CARS is coming to the PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U in 2014. More info can be found on the WMD website.

When it drives as good as it looks…we all win. Wow!

Define ‘driving as good as it looks’

Well, it looks awesome and the driving physics at this point in its development are not awesome…yet. Still happy to be a part of it, it’s really cool to see the changes from build to build.

    simply stunning visuals…… wow.

I think the most of the cars are pretty darn good and they continue work on making them better. So I see it as a win already.

    Who needs reality..
If it could look like this…
    Simply stunning images.
Some years ago we would have sweared it was raytraced images, far from realtime rendering.

Since the Steam switch i not play this, i dont like steam, i thought in a refund :(

The new tires on the GT3 cars are great.

The sound of the first video is much too quiet. Turn the volume up, mr. uploader!

They’re offering refunds for people who don’t like Steam. I can see not liking EA’s Steam rip-off “Origins” and other proprietary systems but Steam is pretty awesome. I was just going through my library of Humble Bundle games and I’ve gotten a ton of content for a tiny fraction of retail.

It’s a pretty dang good system, in my opinion. What are your issues with it?

The first clip is seriously impressive. The Z4 GT3 sounds pretty damn good now, too.

Steam can be a pain to use if your internet is not stable, I used to hate Steam till I upgraded my internet. Now is awesome library of games.

Sometimes I wonder. What do all you outsiders think about the community involvement in Project C.A.R.S., is it enough from your point of view or do you guys feel we are lacking in focusing/focusing too much on certain things?

So this is purely a question for the people who are not and have never been involved, those that see the development without knowing what goes on inside WMD.

I am just asking this because I wonder where we as insiders could improve, if possible. Though don’t expect miracles, cause SMS has to do all the hard work at the end of the day. lol

Exactly what he means it “drives as good as it looks” Do you need for him to paint you a picture?

What about the intake sound? From the front the exhaust is nicely muffled, but you should be able to hear more of the intake :)
