Project CARS – Lots Of Community Previews

Slightly Mad Studios have released a big batch of new Project CARS Community previews, showing off the recent development builds of the WMD-powered title.

All previews seen below have been made by members of the WMD community and show pure in-game footage.

The previews show off plenty of member-painted liveries as WMD members were asked to paint up liveries for the BMW Z4 GT3 and the BMW M1 Procar, the liveries most popular with the community will be included in the final title.

Project CARS is coming to the PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U in late 2013. More info can be found on the WMD website.

Some of these images look too real. Be honest, have the been “touched up” at all?

Looks great.. Too bad I still can’t install it (“Old file not found” while running a patch – right after a windows fresh install)

  • furiousgibbon

I get the old file not found as well, happens with the Wisconsin Raceway file I think… I just click ok, install the next patch, same problem, click ok etc. Game runs fine but I’ve never tried Wisconsin Raceway!

    like which?

  • Juhan Voolaid

The amount of eye-candy is too damn high!
So gonna buy it. Hope the gameplay is exciting (not boring).

Where’s the problem? Look up some Crysis 3 screenshots and you’ll see what is possible today. Even pCARS looks unimpressive compared to what you see there. Sim racers should stop living under a rock.

  • Ricoo

Very nice liveries. Nice job from members.

Did you try to just install the specific patch again by starting it manually? You find the patches normally under C:USERYOURNAMEAppDataLocalCARSPatches, where your Launcher saves all downloaded patches and should compare and complement everything.

Also you can follow those threads to maybe find a solution (similar problems):

If nothing helps, just reinstall the game by starting with main build 249.

The WMD M1 skin is outstanding (088.jpg)

The Asano x4 (Not-DTM Audi) is one of the best sim cars I have ever driven and at default setup at that. I give most of the cars very high marks but there are still ones that need a bit of work to fully dial everything in but why would I question that they won’t be? All the signs say they will.

    No touch ups WYSIWYG

    Mesmerising!

If by “rock” you mean “restrictive budget,” I only wish I could crawl out. What kind of video card would I need to run something like that?

All of them have me drooling. Especially the ones with rain and water effects. Very exciting stuff.

i’m starting to like pCARS a bit more lately – the Z4 at Spa is pretty fun (but still feel the steering input is laggy, hope they fix it), but these screenshots are not in any way relatable to playing the game. rf2 and ac may aswell just do full on renders in max and release those to the public for all the good it is to have unrealistic screenshots pasted everywhere that no one outside of 2016 will be able to manage (unbelievably high aa levels for starters). I know it’s a nice marketing gimmick, but i feel sorry for the suckers who get hyped up thinking the game actually looks like these shots.

The AA doesn´t work as good in motion as it shows on the screens, yet. But I can tell you that my game looks as good when playing as when making screenshots. Shot #90 is mine and I did it straight out of the game.

With so much wtf handling moments is exciting as hell…

Yes they are edited, Injectors with special effects, AA and color balancing where used. So it’s not in game screenshots. Let’s say it like Forza 4 photomode, but with 3rd party tools.

lots of motion blur on your shot, it does look good though. The problem is that i don’t race from external views looking down on the cars, i race in cockpit, and from cockpit pcars is aliasing hell at present. Hopefully it will improve over time. Now all i need is for them to open up to the public so a friend of mine can buy in, and i’ll be set for some mp fun too :)

Please please please SMS, I want to support you because you are a British company, and times are getting hard for business’s world wide, I just hope that the physics in this game, is better than your previous three titles, that use the same engine, Shift 1 was terrible shift 2 was awful & the resent release Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends was a nightmare to drive, looks don’t mean anything if it drives like crap, not saying this does because I haven’t invested in this title, but no doubt will purchase it, when it goes gold in 2013,as long as there is a demo.

I agreed with your comment, will defo purchase this, once it goes gold in 2012
Let’s hope it drives better than their three previous titles.
